I stared at the bickering of the main cast.

Freya Osborne was someone who might look harmless around Edwin, but she was a dynamite who, just like Edwin, looked down on everyone.

Being someone of higher status, having the title of Princess, her ego was quite high in contrast to the others.

Moreover, her sharp tongue knew no bounds, as she didn’t even hesitate to trample over the dignity of others.

A commoner was worth no more than a pest in her eyes.

My eyes then shifted to Ashton. His face was a bit haggard and pale, which worried me a bit. It was the result of the nightmare that originated from the guilt of killing bandits.

It was during that event that he awakened the class, the Executioner of Justice—a really powerful class that boosts your stats the more righteous deeds you achieve.

I don’t know about other people’s gameplay, but I always played by keeping things balanced, not making him overly righteous. Frustrated from being unable to get a proper ending, I even took the corruption route that changed his class from Executioner of Justice to Preacher of Evil.

Since the game allows a free-hand experience without setting the personality, I don’t know which step he will take in real life without strings controlling him.

I wonder if he is even fit to be the protagonist and can overcome this dilemma on his own, one that is going to last until he takes down the first boss specter.

Presently, he was quite mid, and due to his stressful condition, his performance seemed worse. Honestly, this boy needs a counseling session with a psychologist.

As I was engrossed in thought, I heard a voice.

"You have a good obs—" I was unable to finish my speech, seeing him squatting down and reading comics.

"Are you serious? Don’t you have anything else to do right now?"

I didn’t negate the possibility that Chunniboy might turn into a hidden boss. After all, some people acted like idiots during the day and like Shadows at night.

The murmurs then died down suddenly as a tall man with a scar across his left eye, wearing an instructor’s coat, walked in, followed by Emilia.

Emilia looked around as if scanning everyone and introduced him, "Everyone, greet your Combat Instructor, Alex Phillips."

"Hello, Sir!"

The man stepped forward with an amused expression. "You look quite settled here, don’t you?"

"Such a lively and hearty expression. I wonder just how long you can live like that."

The students’ expressions fell, understanding the underlying meaning.

Folding his hands behind his back, he took a solid step, walking carefully.

"He is strong," Ava muttered amidst the gathering attention.

"What do you mean by that?" Roderick asked in confusion. After all, as an instructor, he should be strong.

Ashton, noticing this, explained, "You don’t understand now, but if you look carefully, you can see that his gait is unsteady and filled with flaws, but he is guarded with no openings."

Leila nudged her eyes to take a look, and so did the others.

Alex, walking around, smiled and started speaking. "Before coming here, I heard someone calling others lowly dogs."

With his words, everyone turned towards Edwin and Freya, who met everyone’s gaze coldly.

Alex continued without looking at Victor, "Many might wonder why this Institution takes weaklings of Sparks and Acolyte level, most of whom have a talent cap, making them stuck throughout life."

"All of them... No, you all are nothing special, yet this place wastes resources in breeding you. Why is that so?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Everyone kept quiet, not wanting to answer, and the lower-ranked ones averted their gazes.

With a solemn expression, Alex chuckled. "Even if it’s a lowly dog of the lowest breed, it doesn’t change that it’s still a dog, and..."

It was the same for me—the excruciating pressure made me bend, but unlike most, I didn’t fall flat; rather, I collapsed onto my knees with a groan. I didn’t know if this was because of my strong will or because I was far away from the effective radius.

Despite anticipating such an attack, the intensity caught me off guard. Gritting my teeth, I stared at the man.

A man of ordinary stature if not for his scar, yet the simple figure hid sharp fangs.

With a faint smile, Alex stared at everyone. His eyes caught a shining black-haired boy who stood unbothered, followed by a platinum-haired girl.

Then, behind them was a pale blue-haired boy who fought hard to stay still.

Satisfied, he continued his speech. "Remember one thing—even an ant has its use. Even the weakest Awakened is stronger than an ordinary person and can save lives."

"Each one of you, though useless, can do something that only you can do. You are all weak, yet each one of you has some specific role. So I won’t tolerate any idiot who gives up on himself and wastes the Academy’s resources. Is that clear?"

Getting no response, he increased the power behind his voice and shouted, "Is that clear, you shitheads?"
