Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System

Those who could make a stand in this Wilderness were no mere lambs. When it was time to fight for their lives, the bandits were by no means cowardly.

Unfortunately, faced with Levi acting as the Arrowhead, they simply couldn’t muster any courage.

This monster seemed tireless, felling great swathes of their companions with every swing of his Giant Sword.

They were like common weeds in the Wilderness, easily harvested by him.

Even mighty Giant Demon Warriors were cleaved in two, weapons and all, when they faced this monster.

This was no monster—this was a Demon!!!

The bandits’ courage was completely shattered by Levi’s relentless, forward-charging slaughter as he mowed them down like weeds.

No matter how hard the few Big Dog-headed Men who were maintaining order tried, they could no longer enforce any discipline. The hastily assembled band of bandits began to flee, scattering across the hills and plains.

On the hillside, the Feder Warriors began picking off the fleeing bandits one by one, pressing their advantage.

Standing on the hillside, Baisitina witnessed everything. Even with the scorching sun hanging high at noon, her hands and feet were ice-cold.

Back when Levi had taken down all the Beastmen in High Cliff Castle, Jos had remarked to her that if their Lord were to don Heavy Armor and enter the battlefield, he would be a living meat grinder.

But imagining it and seeing it with her own eyes were two completely different things. The visual impact of such raw Power was something her mind could no longer process.

"Jos, is that a War God?" Baisitina’s eyes were lifeless.

"My lady, that’s a Demon!" Jos’s eyes were even more vacant.

Fifty versus seven hundred. Even if this Wilderness Alliance Army’s discipline was a complete mess and incomparable to a regular army.

But those few Giants and Giant Beasts were more than enough to erase that disparity.

If five hundred regular soldiers were to face this Wilderness Alliance Army, they would suffer disastrous losses even in victory.

’But what did I just see?’

Fifty men had pierced straight through the seven-hundred-strong Alliance Army. The immensely powerful Giant Demon Warriors only managed to stall the wedge formation for a moment before being all but wiped out.

Especially their Lord at the head of the charge. In this one battle, he alone had killed at least a hundred bandits.

And even now, he was still full of vigor.

The scattered, fleeing bandits felt utterly aggrieved. ’Only the good-for-nothing dregs of the nobility are supposed to come to a poor, remote place like this to claim territory,’ they thought.

’But look now—Beastman Barbarians skilled with the War Axe and possessing astonishing Power, whose Javelin throws are utterly terrifying. And then there’s that monster of an Iron Canister in the lead, who has scared us to death all on his own!’

’This force is the elite of the elite, an ace among aces, no matter how you look at it.’

’If they’re so capable, why not go claim some richer lands? Why insist on coming to this shithole to fight us over a few scraps?’

After the relentless pursuit of the Barbarians and the culling by the Feder Warriors, only a few dozen Wilderness Bandits managed to escape.

But soon, three Jackal Wolfmen on Warg Mounts gave chase from the rear. It was unlikely any would escape.

The entire field was stained red with blood. Severed limbs were scattered everywhere, leaving no place to step.

The bandits who had surrendered sat limply on the grass, their eyes vacant.

The harsh, barren Wilderness had long accustomed them to the threat of death, and they believed they no longer feared it.

But as it turned out, a change in quantity can lead to a change in quality.

The sight of a mountain of corpses in a sea of blood, like a slaughterhouse, was a bucket of ice water dumped over their heads. Under the blazing sun, even the bandits most indifferent to life felt a bone-deep chill.

They had wanted to flee, too, but the moment they saw that blood-soaked Warrior, their legs went soft, completely drained of strength.

It had nothing to do with courage; it was purely the instinct for self-preservation.

In their hearts, they hurled the most vicious curses at the old dog-headed man who had organized this war.

If they hadn’t personally witnessed that old dog-headed man being killed by an arrow, they would have risked death just to tear him limb from limb.

"Well, High Cliff Castle won’t have to worry about slaves now." Levi looked as if he’d just taken a swim in a sea of blood. Every step he took left a crimson pool in his wake, and bits of flesh occasionally fell from the seams of his Armor.

All the Giants had been slaughtered. Only one remained, its foot pierced by the Barbarians’ Long Spears, and it now lay on the ground, wailing in agony.

To Levi’s slight surprise, the two Wendigo Beasts hadn’t run far. They had dug a pit nearby and buried the better part of their bodies in it, looking rather comical, like ostriches.

"Boss." Zat took off his dented Horned Helmet, revealing a large, swollen patch on his face. "The bandits’ attacks weren’t completely useless. The Giants, in particular, gave the Barbarians a lot of trouble."

His mood was uncharacteristically low. "A few of the brothers are on their last breath."

Levi opened his system panel. In the party column, several Beastman Barbarians were listed as critically injured.

"Take me to them."

Charging with inferior numbers sounded heroic, but in reality, it was no different than dancing on the edge of a blade.

Every Beastman Barbarian was wounded to some extent. However, because Levi had absorbed most of the pressure at the front, on top of their overwhelming equipment advantage, most of the injuries were minor.

Four Barbarians were the exception. They were the vanguards clad in Iron Armor. Because they had charged the fiercest and faced the most enemies, they had also fallen the fastest.

They came to a flat patch of ground where four Beastman Barbarians had been laid out. The chests of two of them looked as though they had been ripped open by sharp blades. Although their Iron Armor had prevented them from being cut in half, the wounds were deep enough to expose bone, and they were bleeding profusely.

Levi could tell at a glance that these were wounds from a Wendigo Beast’s Tail Blade. Not only were the Scales of these Giant Beasts extremely thick, but their Tail Blades were as keen as any sword.

The other two Beastman Barbarians had no external wounds, but the Iron Armor over their chests was caved in, and their breathing was as faint as a silk thread.

On the battlefield, it’s often the injuries you can’t see that are the most fatal.

These two Beastmen had clearly been struck in the chest by a Giant’s club; their internal organs were probably damaged beyond repair.

The Beastman Barbarians gathered around were dejected. All four of the wounded had grown up with them in the same Tribe, and they shared an incredibly deep bond.

Levi opened his panel and saw that all four Beastman Barbarians had met the criteria to be upgraded. He breathed a small sigh of relief.

He had discovered long ago that every time soldiers leveled up, not only would all their Attributes increase, but they would also recover a certain amount of health.

But this was far from enough; the four Beastmen were too severely injured.

Levi turned his gaze to his own Skills panel.

「Medical Treatment: Each point increases the party’s health recovery rate by 20%.」

「Surgery: Each point adds a 5% chance to save a party member who would otherwise die.」

He hadn’t had a party before, so he’d had no need for these two Skills and had put all his skill points into ones that enhanced his personal Power.

But now, these two Skills were practically god-tier as far as he was concerned.
