Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System

Gorgon was flanked by several hundred Leopard-headed People, his personal melee guards. These warriors all wore Leather Armor, wielded Curved Sabers, and were experts in Martial Arts. Their formation fighting was also exceptionally skilled.

’He hadn’t lost yet!’

The mountainside had become a meat grinder. Although the warriors of the Giant Dragon Corps couldn’t break through the Shield Array, the humans couldn’t put a definitive end to their assault either.

’As long as he takes care of these Heavy Armored Infantry that just appeared, he still has a chance!’

The Leopard-headed People silently drew their sabers. Like Gorgon, all the able-bodied warriors of their clan had been thrown into this war; they could not possibly accept retreating now.

The losses would far outweigh the gains for the Leopard-headed People.

Besides, they still held the advantage in numbers.

"My Giant Beast, let’s take them down together!"

Gorgon stroked the black fur on the Black Mountain Deer Boar’s back. He pointed at the Heavy Armored Infantry in the distance, who were on the verge of punching through the Minotaur formation, his tone terrifyingly cold.

This Black Mountain Deer Boar, standing three-point-three ren tall at the shoulder with antlers polished like sharp blades, lowered its head and charged. Its body, weighing several thousand pounds, thundered across the earth like an oncoming truck, a sight no one could ignore.

The Leopard-headed People followed silently behind. A few Archers among them took the opportunity to loose some arrows, but their shafts simply glanced off the Beastmen’s Iron Armor, failing to even scratch the plating.

"Boss, that Dragon Vein Dog-man is charging us."

By this point, the force of one hundred eighty-odd Minotaurs had been all but wiped out. Zat, covered head to toe in blood, came to the Lord’s side.

The Lord wasn’t in much better shape, looking as though he’d just gone for a swim in a sea of blood. He glanced up and immediately burst into a hearty laugh. "Hahaha, and here I was worried he might run away!"

"Hold the attack! Hold the attack!"

The Lord roared at the top of his lungs. After cutting down the last Minotaurs before them, the Beastmen quickly reformed into an unbreakable wedge formation, bracing for the next impact.

"Listen up, all of you!" the Lord bellowed. "Keep your eyes off that Dragon Vein Dog-man. I’m going to see what he’s made of!"

From the very beginning, Levi and this Dragon Vein Dog-man had sized each other up. They could both see the same quality in the other.

It was a conviction that only a true Warrior could hone over an undefeated career—the sole privilege of the great heroes of the age.

As the saying goes, one mountain cannot hold two tigers—unless one is male and the other female. The Wilderness had no room for two champions. Lord Li, considering himself a hero of equal stature, prepared to test the other’s mettle.

His opponent clearly had the same idea, unleashing a sudden sword strike at Levi from more than five paces away.

At that distance, his opponent’s blade couldn’t touch a single hair on Lord Li’s head unless it could magically stretch over ten yards. But the red light enveloping the two-handed broadsword solidified into a blade of fire, which shot forth from the sword with a WHOOSH, flying straight for the Lord.

Levi had noticed this guy ages ago. From clear across the field, his sword was glowing so red it looked like it was on its period. It was impossible not to be drawn to it.

He could have dodged it with a simple roll, but the image-conscious Lord always preferred to meet threats head-on. With a mere thought, the Giant Shield from his system’s item inventory appeared in his hand, and he slammed it into the ground.

BOOM!

An explosion rang out. A tremendous force surged through the Shield, shoving the Lord a full step backward.

It wasn’t that Levi couldn’t withstand the Power, but that the soil beneath his feet, soaked with blood, had turned to mud, making it difficult to find purchase.

Aside from a blackened scorch mark, the Shield was undamaged. However, a crater half a ren deep had been blasted into the earth.

This move, which looked a lot like a "Flame Slash," not only had cool special effects, but was also incredibly powerful. Unfortunately, it was clearly a charged-up ability, and the cost to use it was ridiculously high.

The Dragon Vein Dog-man didn’t use it again.

The surrounding minions swarmed past the two, tactfully giving them a wide berth and leaving a circular clearing for their duel.

"I am Gorgon Chana. Human, state your name. My Giant Sword does not slay the nameless."

As an ambitious Dragon Vein Dog-man, Gorgon was quite fond of the etiquette of human Knight duels, such as exchanging names before the fight.

This would allow him to add another verifiable victory to his undefeated career.

He could tell that the short human Heavy Armor Warrior before him was also a master.

What confused him, however, was that he couldn’t detect any trace of Combat Qi or elemental fluctuations from the man.

This meant the human merely possessed astonishing Divine Power and was perhaps proficient in a few human Sword Skills. In the end, he was just a brute who knew neither Combat Qi nor Elemental Magic.

Levi laughed in exasperation. To have a sword pointed at him with the line "I don’t slay the nameless"... well, there was a first time for everything!

The Lord planted his Giant Sword in the ground. He clenched his fists, raised them high, and shot up his middle finger—a standard international gesture he’d rate an 8.4, since he was saving the other 1.6.

His tone dripped with contempt. "A country bumpkin like you wants to know my name? I, this Lord, hereby sentence you to death. Don’t bother with any last words; no one’s going to remember you anyway."

Gorgon didn’t know the specific meaning of the gesture, but combined with the man’s tone, he knew it was an insult. His face turned livid.

When words fail, half a sentence is too many. It was time to let their blades do the talking.

"I’ll kill you!"

The Dragon Vein Dog-man was peerlessly ferocious. The Two-Handed Greatsword, a weapon his kin could never hope to wield, was as light as an embroidery needle in his hands.

Now, riding the Black Mountain Deer Boar, he charged, swinging the Two-Handed Greatsword in a devastating arc toward Levi.

A Two-Handed Greatsword was a heavy weapon. The momentum from its own weight made a downward slash nearly impossible to parry directly.

Especially when wielded by a ruthless master of the Elements with superhuman Power. Add the force of his mount’s charge, and the power behind that one strike was simply unimaginable.

The Lord’s interest was piqued. Since he’d first made his name, this Dragon Vein Dog-man was one of the few opponents who could be considered halfway decent.

And when facing an opponent actually capable of trading blows with him, the Lord—who cherished a fellow expert—always showed his respect by giving it his all.

With a furious roar, veins popping on his arms, he summoned all his strength and met the attack with his own blade.

CLANG!

The sudden, explosive ring of metal momentarily drowned out the surrounding battle cries, followed immediately by a shower of sparks.

The difference in Power was enough to render all else meaningless. Levi’s strike sent the Dragon Vein Dog-man’s Two-Handed Greatsword flying. His own blade, still sharp, continued its path—slicing through skin, severing sinew, and carving through flesh before taking the head clean off at the neck. In the blink of an eye, all life was extinguished.

The dog-like head, complete with its dragon horns, flew high into the air. It wore a look of utter bewilderment, as if unable to comprehend why it couldn’t even block a single strike from a mere brute. Then, it dropped lifelessly to the ground.

The Black Mountain Deer Boar galloped past the Lord and ran on for several dozen paces before it realized its master had already gone to Hell. It slowed to a stop and began to pace in place, utterly bewildered.
