In the command cabin of the flagship Bilow, Ryan frowned and interrogated the fleet commander, “I’ve already emphasized to you that Magnificent Castle has not fallen into the hands of the Heretical Cult or mobsters, and the city is still in perfect order. Phineal did not reply to him but simply waved his hand, signaling for him to leave the command cabin.

After Ryan left fuming, another door in the room opened and Sir Durin emerged, displaying pride, “I did not expect the most cowardly member of the investigation team to be a Grandmaster Level Warrior. Thankfully, Commodore sir understands the gravity of the situation. By this point, Magnificent Castle is already in the hands of outlaws.”

“They are really executing nobles?” Phineal turned to look at him.

“I have seen it with my own eyes.” Durin pointed to heaven with his right hand, indicating the truth of his words, “Mr. Ryan hardly mentioned this because there’s a hidden context. As far as I know, one of his former lovers is also in the city, previously from the military academy, considered his junior, but now a member of the Paradise Sect. Ryan was left momentarily speechless.

But upon further reflection, it seemed like the person making decisions along the way had always been the detective, and he only gave his approval at the end.

Ryan scratched his head, straining his brain, “But the Paradise Sect is a force that directly confronts the heretics, and they should have the most information about the heretical cult. If they treat us as enemies, won’t you lose an important source of intelligence?”

This time, Katrina didn’t reject him.

She turned to glance at Ryan, a hint of surprise in her eyes, “So you have been thinking after all.”

“What’s wrong?” Katrina noticed his distraction.

“Look up, there’s something coming this way,” Ryan said softly.

The priestess watched for a while before she noticed what he was pointing out. During those ten or more seconds, the shadow had grown much larger, and its outline was now vaguely distinguishable.

By now, the humming sound had surpassed the waves beneath them, and they could hear a sharp screeching noise mixed within it.

That was the sound of the object screaming through the air at high speed due to friction.

Not just Ryan and Katrina, but the busy sailors on deck also noticed this unusual scene—they unanimously put down their work and looked up at the sky.

About ten seconds later, the shadow had dropped from the height of the clouds to about four or five hundred meters above the sea level and kept getting closer to the fleet. Ryan could see its entire form now—without any doubt, it was definitely a man-made machine. It had symmetrical wings and a towering tail, its metallic shell painted green, and the rhythmic booming sound was coming from its head.

“What is that? A seagull?” The sailors, whose perception was far from Ryan’s, were still chattering about the true identity of the shadow.
