One hundred meters was but an instant for a rocket-propelled grenade.

Almost in the blink of an eye, the grenade had penetrated the carriage and detonated violently!

Of course, this wasn’t the situation the players from Paradise had hoped for.

With a few bursts of gunfire, Qianyuan Meiko ensured the horses breathed their last.

Zhang Zhiyuan and Cui Zhen’en then filled the carriages with another volley of bullets to ensure whoever was inside got their fair share.

Only by then did the mercenaries from Black Steel Camp finally realize they were under attack.

The alarm bell rang, awakening those asleep from their dreams.

Before they could even step out the gate, a dense hail of machine gun fire covered a five-meter radius around the entrance.

Besta was a Black Steel squad leader, an average soldier who never rose above “Warrior” level even before leaving the army, yet he was still considered a capable leader in the New World. Moreover, his extensive real battle experience meant he had been quite successful since joining Black Steel.

That was until a thunderous blast at the front of the camp woke him from his slumber.

He was utterly shocked to discover that someone had actually launched a night raid on the Black Steel’s headquarters!

He had about thirty subordinates, all of whom were loyal to him and had received formal military training, so they assembled immediately. Normally, he would have already been thinking about how to kill the enemy, but today was slightly different—because he saw a broken carriage engulfed in flames at the gate, the scattered golden ornaments indicating the identity of the carriage’s owner.

The boss was taken out?

Although the likelihood was slim, at least for the moment, Aibuvich himself had yet to appear.

He cautiously held back, ordering his men to stay put for a few minutes.

Just during this delay, another team had already charged out.

Just then, the rumbling sound of a steam engine roared from behind the camp.

This sound was like a powerful stimulant, boosting the morale of the mercenaries present. Besta was no exception; he knew that the Black Steel’s “Hammer Pellet” suppression armor had started up. This battle machine boasted thick armor, a rapid-fire machine gun, and four sets of large wheels that could navigate hilly terrain with ease, not to mention a naval cannon mounted on top.

This thing wasn’t something that could be stopped by a few dozen guns.

“We’ll follow behind Hammer Pellet!” Besta waved to his men, “But don’t stick too close, remember, this time we aren’t vying for credit.”

For mercenaries, this wasn’t an easy command to follow, but everyone trusted their squadron leader, and no one objected. They waited until Hammer Pellet and two middle squads burst through the main gate before tailing behind with their guns.

Then Besta saw a dazzling flash of light burst from the dirt road not far away!

The enemy was right in front of the camp!
