"Oh." Scarlett replied expressionlessly, the joy that had just been on her face instantly vanishing.

Afterward, she ignored Andrew, paid for the things, and, clutching a large bag of miscellaneous items and fluffy slippers, started walking towards the direction of the rental apartment.

Seeing Scarlett being so taciturn and her tone sounding somewhat weak today, Andrew was very confused.

"Scar, what’s wrong with you?"

"Nothing much." Andrew couldn’t get anything out of her. He felt like Scarlett was angry, but it was different from before; he couldn’t sense much hostility.

Her words were cold, making it seem like she didn’t want to deal with him, yet every time he asked, Scarlett would still reply.

If she truly didn’t want to talk to him, there would have been no need to answer at all.

Andrew couldn’t figure it out, so he silently followed Scarlett back into the apartment.

When he entered the room and saw the thermos on the table, along with the opened packaging for the heat packs, he immediately understood.

’Right! How could I forget? It’s the middle of the month; Professor Scarlett is having her period. I’m such an idiot.’

Andrew came to his senses and turned around, only to see Scarlett actually opening the packaging for instant noodles and reaching for the thermos, preparing to make them.

"Scar! What are you doing eating instant noodles!"

Andrew quickly snatched the instant noodles away.

"Hm?" Scarlett, wearing a hat with bear ears, stared blankly at the instant noodle cup that had suddenly disappeared from her hand, looking like a hapless bear.

After snapping back to reality, she pouted and looked at Andrew dissatisfiedly, "What!"

"Scar, you’re not feeling well, how can you eat instant noodles?"

"I just want to eat instant noodles!"

Scarlett pouted to express her displeasure, and simultaneously stuck out her little hand indignantly, like a little bear whose food had been snatched away, trying to grab the instant noodles back, "Give it back to me."

Andrew firmly refused. While blocking Scarlett from grabbing the noodles, he coaxed her, "Scar, don’t eat instant noodles. I’ll cook what you want to eat. Just tell me."

"No, I want instant noodles!" Scarlett protested with puffed-out cheeks.

Seeing she couldn’t snatch it, she directly stood up, trying to reach for it, but her whole body felt somewhat weak and numb right now, so her movement was too slow. Andrew deftly moved away.

As a result, Scarlett directly grabbed Andrew’s arm and instinctively yanked, pulling Andrew completely off the chair, causing him to fall flat on his face.

"Scar, don’t mess around. Tell me what you want to eat and I’ll make it. You can’t eat instant noodles; they have no nutritional value at all," Andrew continued to coax her.

After a moment of silence, Scarlett still turned her head and said faintly, "There’s nothing in the house. By the time you buy the ingredients and come back to cook, I’ll have starved to death."

"Hmm..." Andrew thought that was true. Even if he moved fast, from leaving to finishing the cooking, it would take at least an hour.

As he was thinking, Scarlett turned her head and extended a hand, "Give it back to me. I bought this."

Andrew thought about it. He couldn’t let Professor Scarlett starve, and instant noodles alone were too monotonous, so he came up with a compromise.

"Scar, then I’ll cook the instant noodles for you. Just wait a moment."

Saying that, Andrew took the instant noodles to the kitchen and also took an egg out of the refrigerator.

Watching Andrew’s retreating back, Scarlett pouted and muttered softly, "I’m not a child, I don’t need you to coax me."

"Hmph, he even said I was messing around. It’s clearly him who snatched mine."

After Andrew went to the kitchen, he started boiling water while calling Ethan.

"Hello, who is it?"

"Your dad. Hurry up and go to the nearest supermarket to buy two tomatoes and bring them to my rental apartment."

"Not buying!" Ethan flatly refused. Andrew took advantage of him and now expected him to buy things? Impossible!

"I’ll give you thirty!"

"Dad! I’m leaving right now." A real man knows when to yield.

"I’ll give you fifteen minutes to deliver them, or no money."

"Are you kidding me?"

"Fifty!"

"Mission guaranteed to be completed!"

Fifteen minutes later, Ethan, barely hanging on, knocked on the door with two tomatoes.

Hearing the doorbell, Scarlett stared blankly at the door. Her first thought was that Andrew was back, and she started to get up to open it, but the next second, Andrew rushed past her.

Huh? Isn’t the Little Thing at home? Then who is it?

Andrew opened the door, took the tomatoes from Ethan’s hand, "The money has been sent to you. You can scram now."

Then he closed the door.

"Who was that?" Scarlett asked doubtfully.

"Delivery guy," Andrew replied casually. Just as he was about to return to the kitchen, he turned around and saw Scarlett tearing open a bag of jerky, preparing to eat it.

Andrew quickly ran over and snatched it from Scarlett’s hand,"You can’t eat this."

Scarlett hadn’t recovered from the confusion of who knocked on the door when the food in her hand was gone. She stared blankly for a moment.

When she reacted, Andrew, preventing her from sneaking more food, directly took away the entire plastic bag of snacks, "You can’t eat any of these."

Before leaving, Andrew noticed Scarlett still had a piece of jerky in her right hand, so he stretched his neck, opened his mouth, bit it off, and ate it himself.

Seeing Andrew take all the food away, Scarlett became anxious and tried to stand up to get it back.

But suddenly her stomach hurt, causing her to clutch her abdomen and sit back down, her voice turning aggrieved, "Don’t take it all, I’m hungry—"

"Scar, just wait one more minute. The instant noodles will be ready soon."

Scarlett slumped listlessly on the table, her long black hair falling naturally down both sides of her hat. She gazed longingly at the busy Andrew in the kitchen, like a starving little bear waiting to be fed.
