In the evening, Scarlett supervised Andrew’s review in the study.

She had Andrew memorize vocabulary while she ate a few slices of durian herself, and peeled a few bites for Andrew to eat.

Andrew habitually finished eating and opened his mouth, waiting for Scarlett to bring it to his lips.

If he had reviewed like this during the final sprint for the college entrance exams, Andrew felt he definitely could have gotten into Tsinghua or Peking University.

However, after eating a few slices of durian, Andrew kept his mouth open but no longer received the durian personally delivered by Professor Scarlett.

"Eating this much is enough. Eating too much durian will cause internal heat," Scarlett packed up the remaining half of the durian. "We already ate half of one the day before yesterday."

Seeing this, Andrew didn’t say anything and continued reciting vocabulary.

"Why aren’t you reciting the vocabulary out loud?" Scarlett suddenly asked.

"I’m reciting it silently in my mind."

During morning reading sessions in high school, when the whole class recited words together, Andrew would read aloud, but when reciting alone, he felt strange saying the words out loud.

"My pronunciation isn’t standard, so reciting it sounds a bit strange."

"Done?" Scarlett stared at Andrew and asked again.

"Done."

Seeing Andrew so confident, Scarlett directly took his vocabulary list, "Alright, I’ll quiz you."

"!!!" Andrew’s eyes instantly widened; he never expected Scarlett to actually quiz him!

"Burst, what does it mean, and how do you spell it?"

"Uh..."

"Alter, how about that one?"

"Dispose?"

Seeing Andrew stammering and silent, Scarlett tossed the vocabulary list back onto the desk and shot him a glare, "You don’t know a thing when asked. Is this what you call reciting it?"

"I just recited it, but I forgot it now." As soon as Andrew finished his weak defense, he saw Scarlett’s fierce gaze and immediately grabbed the vocabulary list to start reciting again.

Scarlett silently supervised from the side, complaining inwardly a few times, "Last year I didn’t even supervise deliberately, and this Little Thing almost got full marks on several English tests. Why does he have no focus for reciting vocabulary now that he’s in college?"

"I need to be more serious; I must make him slightly afraid of me, otherwise, he’s always acting playfully towards me."

Andrew recited vocabulary in the study for another two or three hours. Only after Scarlett tested him three times during the quiz did he pass.

"Finally done."

"We’ll continue with five hundred words tomorrow. You don’t have many classes, so come to my office during the day to recite them."

"Yes—-" Andrew replied weakly; he was already parched from reciting.

After Andrew finished showering, Scarlett had already returned to the bedroom to rest. After studying for so long, he was a bit hungry.

But the room was empty, and there was nothing to eat. Andrew opened the refrigerator and saw only the half remaining durian that Scarlett had just put in.

"Whatever, being hungry is worse than getting internal heat."

Andrew took out the durian, but still felt a bit uneasy, so he called Catherine to ask.

"Older Sister, eating a whole durian in one night shouldn’t cause internal heat, right?"

When Andrew heard this, he shot back, "I’m actually afraid you’d feed me poison."

"Aiya~~~ Professor Scarlett wouldn’t harm you, right? Professor Scarlett definitely dotes on you too much~~~ Professor Scarlett is definitely much better than me, your Older Sister~~~"

Catherine used a nasally, sarcastic tone to vent a bit.

Andrew was used to it. Seeing his Older Sister about to have an episode, he hung up the phone, finished the durian by himself, and climbed into bed to sleep.

However, retribution came the next day.

When Andrew woke up in the morning, his mouth felt a bit sore. He didn’t pay attention and went to Professor Scarlett’s office during the day to recite vocabulary and review.

But by evening, blisters had already formed, and it hurt so much he could barely speak.

"It hurts so much! Older Sister must have lied to me; how could it not cause internal heat?" Andrew clutched his mouth and groaned painfully in the study.

At that moment, Scarlett’s voice came from the living room, "Where is the durian I put in the fridge? Why is it gone?"

Scarlett wanted to ask Andrew, but when she walked into the room and saw him groaning in pain, she knew the answer.

He was hungry and certainly wanted to eat, but with his mouth inflamed like this, how could he eat anything? Wouldn’t chewing be excruciatingly painful?

"How about I chew it up for you and then feed it to you?"
