Chapter 110: The ’Head of the Household’

On Friday, Scarlett worked in her office and taught classes.

Andrew continued to have Lucy teach him how to knit a scarf, using the time to chat about the weekend trip to the autumn outing.

"Oh, right, right, last night when you and Professor Scarlett went home, did Professor Scarlett expose our little lie?"

"Uh... I don’t think so. She didn’t ask either."

Andrew felt that Scarlett probably saw through his and Lucy’s lie, but she didn’t seem inclined to press the issue.

"That’s good."

Lucy felt relieved and started gossiping, "What is Professor Scarlett like at home? Is she a gentle big sister, or is she as cold and aloof as she is at school?"

Andrew thought carefully and realized it was actually hard to describe.

When they first started living together and weren’t familiar with each other, Scarlett at home was almost no different from at school, silent, reserved, and cold.

After that time he had a high fever and Andrew took Scarlett to the hospital, she clearly changed a bit. She talked to Andrew much more, and even got a little mischievous, using her little feet to tempt Andrew.

Thinking about it, it seemed like Scarlett started becoming mischievous and teasing him from that point on.

’Holy crap? Did that high fever mess up Professor Scarlett’s brain?’

On Saturday morning, Scarlett changed into casual wear: a white long-sleeved shirt, black trousers, and a simple black outer jacket. She tied her dark, beautiful hair into a ponytail, looking relaxed and capable.

The two first went to the school to pick up Lucy, and then headed together to the location of the autumn outing, Carefree Manor.

At the entrance, Scarlett held the roster, waiting for the arriving students to record and sign them in. As a Scar, she was very skilled at this kind of task.

After Andrew and Lucy rented the tents, they handed the receipts to the classmates who arrived later. They could use the receipts to claim their tents when it was time to set them up.

Once Scarlett confirmed that everyone who was supposed to come had arrived, they entered the manor in separate groups.

Lucy also went to join the other girls, leaving Andrew and Scarlett alone together.

Scarlett put the attendance roster away in her backpack. When she turned around, she found Andrew resting his chin on one hand, staring intently at her.

"What’s wrong?"

Scarlett looked down at herself with a puzzled expression. "Do I not look good today?"

"No."

Andrew shook his head, then voiced his dilemma. "I’m trying to decide whether to call you ’Scar’ today or ’Teacher’."

Andrew clearly remembered what Scarlett had said, ’Calling her the right title earned a reward, while calling her the wrong one incurred punishment.’

He knew this was Professor Scarlett’s mischievous way of teasing him; in reality, when couples were being affectionate, they would call each other whatever felt most intimate.

Scarlett remained silent for a moment, then a slight curve appeared at the corner of her mouth. She said lightly, "You guess. Either way, if you get it wrong, there’s a punishment."

Andrew wasn’t overly surprised by this answer. Instead, he whispered to Scarlett, "Teacher, why do I feel like you’re getting naughtier?"

"Am I very naughty?" Scarlett tilted her head slightly, looking back at Andrew as she questioned him.

"Yes."

"Alright then, I guess I am a little naughty." With that, she took off her backpack and hung it on Andrew. "Since I’m a bad girl, you can carry my things for me."

Andrew paused for a moment, then a secret delight rose in his heart, ’Heh heh, Professor Scarlett actually enjoys role-playing. I’ll play along with her.’

"Yes, Queen."

"Pfft~" Scarlett burst out laughing. This Little Thing got into character so fast.

Scarlett had always harbored a desire to role-play and have fun. When she was little, she often played house with Starly, and she was always the one in charge.

"Little Drew, this Queen doesn’t know the way. You lead me around."

"Yes!"

The two walked and explored the manor, deliberately taking the dense forest path to enhance the atmosphere.

However, Andrew forgot that he had a terrible sense of direction. As he led Scarlett along, he eventually had no idea where they were going.

"Uh..."

Andrew looked at a familiar road sign and the fork ahead, falling into a brief moment of contemplation.

He then turned to Scarlett somewhat awkwardly. "Queen, I think we’re lost."

In truth, Scarlett had realized Andrew was leading her astray and getting them lost long ago. She hadn’t said anything, wanting to see how far he would actually lead her.

Scarlett cleared her throat, adopting a stern and angry look, and questioned Andrew coldly, "You, the guide, got us lost. What crime should befall you!"

The cold and elegant Professor Scarlett had such a captivating aura.

A thought flashed through Andrew’s mind, a sense of ’insubordination’, the sudden urge to ambush her, pull her into an embrace, kiss her and fucked her.

That would certainly be thrilling.

But he held back. They were outside, and there might be people hiding in the woods. It wouldn’t be good if they were seen.

Then, Andrew quickly lowered his head, adopting a posture of begging for mercy. "Queen, your humble servant deserves death, but for now, we should figure out how to get out. You can punish me later."

"We’ll deal with the punishment after we get out. In a critical moment, you still have to rely on this Queen."

Scarlett glanced at the road sign and walked ahead of Andrew. "Little Drew, keep up."

"Yes!"

Carefree Manor was vast, and this patch of woods was somewhat intricate. The introduction mentioned there were deer and rabbits here, but the two hadn’t seen anything yet.

Scarlett walked, stopping occasionally to check the road signs and ensure she wasn’t taking a wrong turn.

Originally, she wanted to wander in the small woods a bit longer hoping to spot a deer, but now she was getting a little tired. There was nothing but trees, and she just wanted to leave the small woods and find a place to rest.

"Go this way; the center of the manor is just outside."

Andrew looked along the path Scarlett indicated. The trees on that side were denser, with branches hanging down into the center of the crossroad, obscuring much of the path.

"Queen, perhaps we should take another path? This one doesn’t look easy to walk on," Andrew suggested.

He was worried the branches would dirty Scarlett’s clothes, and if they were sharp, there was a risk of cuts.

Upon hearing this, Scarlett looked at Andrew with disdain and spoke in an arrogant tone, "What, are you scared of a little path? Are you planning to abandon this woman and flee in the face of danger?"

When Andrew heard this, he immediately puffed out his chest. "Your humble servant would never abandon the Queen! I will go ahead and clear the path for the Queen!"

"That’s good. That’s my Little Drew," Scarlett continued to say coldly.

Andrew was somewhat impressed by Scarlett’s acting skills.

How does Scarlett manage to hold back her laughter? I’m already finding it hard to resist.

The two continued forward. The branches on both sides of the path grew thicker. To avoid obstructing Scarlett behind him, Andrew broke off some obstructing branches and tossed them aside.

However, this slowed their progress considerably, requiring them to stop every now and then.

Neither of them noticed a small gray rabbit quietly observing the two humans from the bushes.

As Andrew was breaking branches, Scarlett picked up a small twig and playfully waved it around.

Just then, the small gray rabbit, which had been hiding, seemingly wanting to eat the tender leaves on the twig in Scarlett’s hand, suddenly darted out.

It sprang out like a large black rat, leaping up toward the twig in Scarlett’s hand.

This completely terrified Scarlett. She instantly dropped the twig and instinctively shrieked.

"Ah!!!"

Hearing the scream, Andrew quickly turned around. He didn’t see anything except the screaming Scarlett, who had jumped up and lunged toward him.

Andrew hastily reached out to catch Scarlett. She clung tightly to his neck, eyes shut, wishing she could burrow right into his clothes.

"What’s wrong?"

Andrew asked while struggling to turn his head to prevent himself from being suffocated.

"There was... there was a rat! A really big one!"

Scarlett trembled uncontrollably. This was the first time Andrew had seen Professor Scarlett this scared.

"A rat?"

Andrew wondered why there would be a rat in the woods. He looked toward the source of the rustling sound and saw a small gray rabbit quickly fleeing, disappearing into the undergrowth without a trace.

"Teacher, it was a rabbit, not a rat. Don’t be afraid."

"No... impossible! It was definitely a rat! I saw it! It jumped right at me!"

Scarlett said, still trembling, her limbs clinging tightly to Andrew, refusing to let go.

As Andrew endured the suffocating pain, he also enjoyed the soft, fragrant touch.
