- Chapter 1: Prologue - Part 1
In the previous days, Snock and his team had carefully assessed the medical conditions of the dinosaurs on the farm. Based on it, they had calculated a suitable plan to get everyone out of there.
The least healthy animals were sauropods: they were mainly used for the production of eggs and fat, so they found it hard to walk. Immediately afterwards came the theropods, which, being continuously plucked, had severe abrasions and irritations on the skin and because of this they suffered many pains with each movement.
Therefore Snock had established that they were the last to be saved, and only after the elimination of most of the enemies. Otherwise it would have been impossible to get everyone to safety.
There were about sixty humans in the farm, which meant that the dinosaurs were in high numerical superiority. But the presence of weapons and the terrible medical conditions of the dinosaurs threatened to reverse the situation. Therefore Snock had chosen to implement a more subtle plan.
From the plane, the atrociraptors would have to eliminate as many humans without being noticed, after which Snock would have freed all the ceratopsids and stegosaurids and together with them would have done battle. The second phase of the plan instead saw the terizinosaurus as the protagonist, who was an assistant they had obtained while infiltrating the farm; as soon as chaos reigned, he would have had to free all the theropods, since they were locked up in his same building, and then guide them to lend a hand to Snock so as to attack humans on two fronts. Once the humans were out of the way, the dinosaurs would only have had to free the sauropods and retrieve the cubs and eggs, then use [Teleportation] and escape.
The plan should have started after the therizinosaurus had been plucked and brought back together with the other theropods, but unfortunately the latter had lost his temper prematurely. Now the plan had to be accelerated: the humans had very fast means of communication and consequently it was only a matter of minutes before anyone noticed the three corpses in the barn.
The atrociraptors spread very quickly for breeding. Fortunately, the farm was quite large, so the humans had to split into small groups to patrol it; otherwise it would have been impossible to eliminate them silently.
Snock and the therizinosaurus reached the building where the theropods were contained. Once there the giganotosaurus deactivated [Ambush] for a moment: “As I said, we’ll stick to the plan. Get ready: as soon as the time comes, free everyone and attack the humans from behind”. He didn’t wait for an answer: he reactivated [Ambush] and disappeared, and then ran at full speed to the place where the ceratopsidae and stegosaurids were being held captive.
Now he just had to wait.
Meanwhile, the atrociraptors continued to go around the farm, reaping any person they could find on the way. In total they eliminated about twenty of them, but as Snock had predicted, it didn’t take long before they were discovered.
When the tension in the air began to become more evident and humans began to be seen running from one side of the farm to the other, Snock realized that there was no time left. "Now or never!"
In an instant he deactivated [Ambush] and became visible again, letting out a terrifying roar. The humans who were close to him screamed in terror and someone tried to raise the rifle to hit him, but the weak bullets could not penetrate [Reinforced skin]. With a single swipe of the tail, Snock had eliminated six other people.
However, he knew that the humans who ran the illegal farm were not naive and that they had heavier weapons. It wouldn’t be long before they regrouped and attacked him with those. He had to hurry.
With a headbutt he broke through the wooden walls of the building where the ceratopsidae and stegosaurids were kept. There, imprisoned in various iron cages, were several triceratops, torosaurs, stegosaurs, kentrosaurs, sinoceratops and various other dinosaurs. The iron bars of the cages were very strong, but they could do nothing against [Deadly claws] and [Powerful bite].
"Quickly! Move!" screamed the humans outside as they carried two large rocket launchers and a bazooka to the spot where the giganotosaurus had been spotted. When they saw the broken door of the building, they prepare to enter, sure that the animal was there waiting for them.
But on the contrary, as soon as they crowded towards the door, they were attacked from several sides!
The mighty horns of the ceratopsids broke through the wooden walls of the building, which collapsed behind them as if it were made of papier mache. In an instant, the humans were surrounded by dinosaurs, and before they could react the spear tails of the stegosaurids impaled at least fifteen other men. The surviving humans tried to turn their weapons towards their new opponents, but while they were distracted Snock emerged from the ruins of the barn and with his jaws and claws he mowed down five other men.
A handful of survivors attempted to back away relying on their small size to escape the giant animals. If they could get themselves out of the living cage the dinosaurs had created they could safely attack them. But they wouldn’t go that far.
As soon as they were out of the labyrinth of tails, thorns, horns, beaks and legs, the survivors were in fact attacked by claws and fangs!
The therizinosaurus had kept its side of the plane and freed the theropods. And thanks to this, the sixty guards of the farm had been vanquished in an instant.
*******
"What the hell is going on?"
Hoskins heard the deep roar coming from outside and ran to check. And when he saw the dinosaurs attack the guards en masse, his face had gone black. "We are under attack!" he screamed. "I told you so! You didn’t want to listen to me, you idiots! Fend for yourself, I’m leaving here!"
The people in the room panicked. Many got up and started to follow Hoskins. The man opened the door to leave, but the instant he did something he grabbed it and his neck sprayed hectoliters of blood.
The other humans backed away in fear as they watched Hoskins’ lifeless body fall to the ground. Moments later, four large dinosaurs entered the room. "Atrociraptors!" someone shouted at their sight.
"Humans" Tiger growled. “You have committed terrible crimes against our species. You will all pay for it tonight. You have tortured us enough, you bastards!"
The atrociraptors jumped on the table and attacked everyone present. The screams of terror were accompanied by patches of blood and bodies falling to the ground.
Rainn grabbed Soyona and dragged her under the table, taking her out of reach of the atrociraptors. The smuggler pointed to the door: “Madam, we have to go now. Now that the dinosaurs are distracted!"
Soyona nodded. The two ran out of hiding and through the door. Rainn’s car was ready in the parking lot. "Quick! Enter in the car!" he yelled at Soyona.
"Not yet" the woman said, after which she pulled out her gun and shot the carburetor of a nearby car. Gasoline began to pour out. Another shot was enough, and the car caught fire.
"Nobody will ever know what was going on here" Soyona exclaimed as she got into the car. She had long since learned not to leave evidence, and now she had to flee too quickly to make sure she hadn’t left any traces of her passing: better then destroy everything. "Start the engine!"
Rainn didn’t have it repeated and started the car. Behind them the fire advanced rapidly; the other cars exploded as well, and their gasoline fueled the flames even more.
On Earth, fire couldn’t spread so rapidly. But on Eden the amount of oxygen was many times greater. A spark was enough to unleash a fire of epochal proportions.
As soon as they saw the fire, the dinosaurs burst into screams of pure terror. The appearance of the natural enemy of all life forms made them lose all reason: the dinosaurs began to run without restraint in any direction.
Rainn drove full speed towards the main road, but the escape did not last long. Very soon a large nasutoceratops, in the midst of the confusion, came upon him and overturned the car. Fortunately, Rainn’s car was designed to protect the driver from severe impacts. Soyona was fine too and she managed to drag herself out without any problems.
“Coff... miss Santos, help me! I’m stuck!" Rainn pleaded, but Soyona didn’t even look at him. She certainly had no intention of risking her life for an incompetent subordinate. The fire would have reached them in moments, not to mention the dinosaur danger.
"Fuck you!" Rainn growled as he watched her run away. With a yank she grabbed a crowbar and started hitting where her foot got stuck. With a lot of effort she managed to free herself and get out of her. But he had just managed to get out when a large paw landed two inches from her face.
"I thought I heard a strange sound" It was the therizinosaurus; since he was blind, he hadn’t seen the fire and was not mad like everyone else. "So you were trying to escape, huh?"
Rainn shivered from head to toe. "Please..." he murmured breathlessly. This was not how he wanted to die.
But the terizinosaurus wasn’t of the same opinion. "Oh... now I recognize your voice, asshole!" he growled at him, lowering his head neatly so that Rainn could see him in his eyes. The smuggler felt his blood run cold when he saw the white, hollow pupils. He couldn’t believe that of all the dinosaurs he was facing the one he had blinded. But karma apparently wanted to seriously punish him: the therizinosaurus’ claws dug into his chest, opening a three-centimeter hole in his heart.
"There is another smell... where is your partner?" The therizinosaurus quickly began to follow the trail. He had no eyes, but his nose was very powerful. Unfortunately for him, however, the lack of sight was a handicap that should not be underestimated.
Soyona saw the huge dinosaur arrive well in advance. She didn’t hesitate for a moment: she grabbed the gun and fired a shot at the therizinosaurus in the head. In a second the animal fell to the ground. Soyona turned and resumed her flight.
The gunshot, however, didn’t go unnoticed. Snock heard it and ran to where it came from. When he saw the terizinosaurus on the ground he feared the worst, but checking it he discovered that [Reinforced skin] had done its duty: the animal had only fainted from the strong blow received.
Snock called the other dinosaurs to him. With great effort he managed to restore calm. The dinosaurs were still terrified, but at least they were willing to listen to him. "We must act fast!" Snock roared as he watched the rapidly advancing fire. "You!" he growled aiming at the atrociraptors. "Chase the last survivor! All the ceratopsids and theropods, on the other hand, go immediately to free the sauropods! Get everyone up that hill over there!" Snock pointed to a small hill not far away. “We will meet again there! Transport all the weak, the wounded and the sick, and someone please bring him away too!" he said pointing to the unconscious therizinosaurus. “Me, two triceratops and some dromaeosaurs are going to free the cubs and the eggs instead! Come on, hurry up!"
The dinosaurs readily obeyed; in that panic situation it was the only thing they could do. The ceratopsids ran to break through the door of the building where the sauropods were contained, and the theropods tore their cages to pieces in a few moments with [Powerful bite] and [Deadly claws]. The huge dinosaurs were exhausted and kept in dire conditions, but with an effort of will they didn’t think they possessed they managed to get up and out of their prison moments before the fire reached them.
Unfortunately, Snock instead found an obstacle. He had expected that the door of the building where the puppies and the eggs were held prisoner would also be broken down immediately, but it did not.
The door was designed to be very strong; the mighty horns of the triceratops opened deep dents in its wings, but could not break them. In addition, the rest of the building, unlike all the others that were made of wood, was built with brick and concrete. After all, it was designed to be watertight, since eggs needed a certain temperature in order not to spoil.
This was bad. Snock could not teleport inside, because he had never entered that building; and although some dinosaurs tried to use [Deadly claws], the door was made of an iron alloy that was stronger than steel.
Snock knew he was in a difficult situation. Under normal circumstances that hitch wouldn’t have been so bad, but the fire was advancing rapidly towards them. They didn’t have much time before the puppies and the eggs inside were engulfed in flames, and the poor giganotosaurus had no idea what he had to do.

"Damn"
Owen Grady was a Taimon police officer. He had seen many of him during his life, but there were still things that could surprise him. For example, the strong light coming from the east, a sign of the immense size of the fire that had been reported to him.
The police force was set in motion almost immediately, along with the firefighters and other police forces. Even the helicopters had taken off to monitor the situation. Owen was leading an entire convoy of police vehicles, speeding toward the fire.
"According to the estimates obtained, the fire is moving at 15 km/h to the west. If we leave it unchecked it will reach the city” the policeman next to him said.
"How much time do we have, Barry?"
"Two hours. Maybe less. But that is not all"
"Oh, what else is there!?"
Barry Sembène had been Owen’s partner for years, and by now he knew how to recognize his friend’s state of mind. He knew that even though he was trying to stay calm, a storm was actually brewing in his mind. "The helicopters are flying over the area and... they report a high number of dinosaurs"
Owen nearly braked the car. “Dinosaurs? Here?" he growled him.
"This was probably an illegal breeding"
“We will ask Franklin later. Now let’s take care of the rest” Owen grabbed the radio. “To all units! Prepare to..."
STOMP.
A woman in a white dress threw herself on the hood of the car, oblivious to the fact that she could crush her, and she was knocked to the ground; luckily Owen wasn’t going too fast because of the dirt road, or he could have killed her.
