"Good evening everyone, kind viewers, and welcome back to TG vision 54. An extraordinary twist shocked the world after a secret capture team managed to arrest Dr. Henry Wu, who was found to be guilty of the current awakening of the cognitive abilities of dinosaurs. The scientist has indeed confessed that he deliberately unleashed this global ecological disaster with the support of the well-known multinational Reiden Global. Line to Martha Sinuzzi, currently in front of Cagerock prison, where Dr. Wu is currently being held"
The camera shot left the studio and showed a woman in front of a crowd of protesters. “Thanks, Simon. We are currently near the Cagerock prison, where following his capture, the notorious scientist Henry Wu was imprisoned awaiting trial. As you can see behind me there are many people who would like to make the doctor pay for it, but the police are managing, at least for the moment, to keep calm. The reasons that prompted Dr. Wu to cause the awakening of the dinosaurs’ cognitive abilities are still unknown, and the scientist has refused to make any statements. Based on the reports of the arrest, Dr. Wu said he used the means, funds and substances provided to him by Reiden Global to create the Mother Cell, effectively confirming the theory of Dr. Robert Oz. Line under study"
The camera returned to frame the studio. “According to his statements, Dr. Wu would have released the Mother Cell in nature voluntarily and in great secrecy, but the creation of this plague was wanted by Reiden with no positive purposes. Here we have an interview with one of the soldiers who participated in the capture operation, Jackson Oz. You are welcome"
The shot showed Jackson’s face. "So, you were there when Dr. Wu was arrested?"
"I personally conducted the arrest"
"Can you give us some details of the mission?"
"Of course. Dr. Wu said he personally created the Mother Cell and injected it into a spinosaurus egg, which was then secretly released into nature leading to what we are experiencing now"
"So, according to that claim, what happened was the will of one man?"
"Not at all. By inspecting the laboratory, studying the files contained in the computer database and questioning Dr. Wu, it emerged that the entire company known as Reiden Global must hold itself accountable. The evidence we have gathered confirms the countless crimes and corruption that was rampant in the multinational. Although freeing the Mother Cell was a spontaneous gesture of Dr. Wu, the creation of him was wanted by the Reiden"
"And why on earth would the Reiden have wanted to create the Mother Cell?"
“Through the notes and files we collected we got an overview of what the Reiden was aiming for. They planned to use the Mother Cell to establish themselves as the supreme rulers of the global market. We found that they aimed to create giant locusts that would only affect certain crops, all followed by creating special seeds that the insects would not eat, so that growing would have to be bought at the imposed price. They then wanted to create a whole new family of viruses to spread around the planet, so they could get rich by selling vaccines. This and much more. We are talking about a sequence of crimes against humanity sufficient to make the worst dictators of the past pale. In a way, we have to thank Henry Wu for keeping the existence of the Mother Cell a secret"
"In your opinion, what will happen to Reiden and Dr. Wu now?"
“Personally, I believe the right thing to do would be to eliminate the Reiden completely and sentence both Dr. Wu and all the Reiden executives to a life in prison. The evidence we have obtained is more than enough to cause the collapse of the multinational. Unfortunately, however, I’m pretty sure it won’t. Instead, I fear that Dr. Wu will end up becoming the scapegoat and that the leaders of the Reiden will flee and get away with it"
"But the collapse of the Reiden is inevitable"
"I have no doubt about this"
The interview stopped and the line returned to the studio. "Mr. Oz’s latest statement turned out to be correct. Reiden shares are currently suffering a financial meltdown. The entire international market has turned against the company which is already one step away from bankruptcy and, probably, could even declare bankruptcy in the future. The evidence gathered by the capture team has in fact allowed the launch of a large-scale investigation, which is uncovering numerous dirty secrets that the multinational was hiding. Every day several Reiden executives are arrested and new crimes committed by the company are discovered. The population is also besieging every Reiden site in protest, and there have already been two cases in which the aforementioned offices have been stormed and destroyed. The latest case occurred in the city of New Vegas. Line to Daniele Cerata, currently on the field"
The camera focused on a man, behind whom was a building surrounded by firefighters. “Thanks, Simon. I am now in front of one of the many branches of the Reiden, which was stormed by the crowd about three hours ago. The police tried to curb the violence, but it was impossible to contain it. Crowds destroyed equipment and set the entire building on fire, and many of the employees were beaten to death. There are currently seventeen deaths. Fortunately, the firefighters were able to prevent the spread of the fire, which, as you can see behind me, has now been extinguished. Army intervention was necessary to appease the furious crowd, and about 1,800 people were arrested, but the number of fugitives is much higher. The injured were rushed to hospital in the hope that they are not in danger of life. And while the tragedy is taking place here, in the rest of the world fear is spreading in the Reiden branches, which fear the climate of violence that is being created; there are numerous employees who are laying off en masse, which contributes even more to the financial collapse of Reiden. Line under study"
The shot returned to the studio. “Thanks, Cerata. We will talk more about the financial issue of Reiden at 9 pm with our economics expert. Now let’s move on to another very hot topic of the moment: the problem of the presence of new intelligent creatures with which humanity is now forced to share the same planet. For the moment, the peace treaty signed with the leader of the dinosaurs, lord Sobek, thanks to the excellent work of ambassador Jocelyne Jersey, is still respected by both sides. Dinosaurs have indeed proved to respect their word. Since not all breeders were willing to give away their source of income, governments around the world have issued a requisition order for all reared dinosaurs that provides a slight compensation to the original owner. Teams of hunters in nature reserves are also intensified in order to recover as many dinosaurs as possible. Even the few dinosaurs kept as pets are requisitioned and brought back to the Maakanar continent, where they are traded for huge quantities of meat and people. Line to Sarah Tembo, at the port of Toular"
The camera captured a woman with a shipyard behind her. “Thanks, Simon. I am currently in the place from which most of the ships bound for Maakanar sail. Every day new ships depart with large numbers of dinosaurs on board and others return with tons of meat on board and some released humans. Currently, the number of prisoners the dinosaurs have released is 159, while the number of dinosaurs released is 6,360. So far the dinosaurs have not failed to agree and have always delivered the necessary amount of food and the number of prisoners corresponding to the agreements made. It is still unknown how dinosaurs can have such food supplies, but it is a relief that they are willing to share them. The people freed so far are exclusively families with children and have declared that the dinosaurs have actually chosen to give them priority. Based on the interviews conducted, the former prisoners admitted that they were treated very well during their imprisonment, despite the fear and fright, and many of them said that the dinosaurs were quite understanding towards them, even if a little rough. According to the accounts of these people there have never been any cases of violence or murder and all received large quantities of food every day. It can therefore be said that dinosaurs have behaved better than many humans in the way of treating prisoners. Some people have also provided more detailed accounts at the request of some anthropologists, revealing some aspects of dinosaur society and behavior. In fact, it was discovered that dinosaurs have a strong sense of unity, that they bury their dead and that they live in a caste system based on strength and ingenuity. According to many anthropologists, almost their entire society and way of thinking is based on the behavioral patterns of a common herd, albeit much larger and better structured. Although the dinosaurs are sticking to their agreements, however, the slow release of people in prison in Cartago is creating tension. There are many who are lobbying governments to speed up operations. According to the statements of the heads of state of many countries, thanks to the recently issued order for the requisition of the farms, the number of dinosaurs released will rise rapidly in the coming days and by the end of the month about half a million animals will have been released on Maakanar. corresponding therefore to the release of about 12,500 human prisoners, and this number will grow exponentially in the coming months. According to estimates, by August of this year the number of dinosaurs released is expected to reach ten million, resulting in 250,000 human prisoners released. It is therefore hoped that the operations will proceed smoothly and that within no more than a year it will be possible to obtain the release of all human prisoners. Line under study"
The shot returned to the studio. “Thanks, Tembo. Furthermore, the slow progress of the release of human prisoners is not the only source of tension. Three other destructive events related to the dinosaurs occurred in the nations of Odaria, Belos and Tearmoon. The investigations carried out revealed that the places where these incidents occurred all hosted illegal activities in the dinosaur trade. According to video evidence and witness accounts, what has occurred are not attacks, but rebellions by dinosaurs. Many wonder if these events are connected, but many scientists and anthropologists believe otherwise. We have one of them here today, Professor Davis Okoye. Good evening Professor"
The camera shifted, showing a bald man sitting next to the conductor. "Good evening"
"Very good. So, Professor Okoye..."
"Please, call me Davis"
“As he wished. So, Davis, you, like many others in the scientific community, believe that these rebellions are unrelated to lord Sobek and his pack. What makes you think that?"
“There are many distinctive signs. Witnesses claim that all the dinosaurs that rebelled were those held captive by the black market; there was no external interference. How could it be, besides? All the dinosaurs in question were isolated from the rest of the world"
“We have heard of it. There is talk of creatures locked up in underground cages, extremely undernourished and forced with chains and whips"
"Exactly. Unless the dinosaurs can become invisible it is impossible that lord Sobek’s pack had any contact with these animals. Also, another important hallmark, none of the dinosaurs involved have tattoos. From what we know so far, they are considered extremely important in the mentality of the dinosaurs, because they sanction their social belonging. They are like the identity card for us, indeed they are even more important since we are talking about a society divided into well-defined castes. According to all those who came in contact with the Sobek pack, no dinosaur was without such tattoos. In contrast, the dinosaurs that caused the accidents didn’t have them. And finally, there is a third clue"
"And would that be?"
“Their aggression. The dinosaurs of lord Sobek’s pack have never attacked humans unless necessary and have behaved very civilly. Furthermore, we know that almost all of them now express themselves exclusively in human language. On the contrary, the incidents we are talking about seem more like the rebellions of beasts: there is no strategy, the dinosaurs don’t collaborate with each other, they almost never express themselves in words and everyone thinks for himself"
"So, in your opinion, lord Sobek is not responsible for these incidents"
"Exactly"
"Then the dinosaurs would have chosen to spontaneously rebel?"
“I certainly can’t blame him. We are talking about creatures that were exploited for illegal fighting and kept in poor condition. Many of them had developed mental problems because of their masters. According to Dr. Robert Oz, the Mother Cell is like a virus that infects any creature akin to the main host; as a result, even if lord Sobek has never met these animals, they may have contracted this ’virus’ and thus developed intelligence. Probably every dinosaur on the planet is infected right now. However, while farmed dinosaurs have no reason to rebel as they are treated pretty well, black market dinosaurs have every reason to want to tear their masters apart. Once intelligence had evolved, I too would have rebelled"
"So how do you think we should act?"
“My advice is that the police intensify their search for these illegal markets; only in this way the violence will stop. We have to be rushed and free the dinosaurs before they decide to do it themselves. For the moment, civilians haven’t been involved, but only thanks to the location of these markets which were located in sparsely populated areas of the city. If a rebellion were to occur in a big city, it is possible that the innocent could become victims"
"All clear. One last question: in your opinion, how did the dinosaurs disappear into thin air?"
“I can’t answer for sure; these disappearances are also a question for me. Personally I believe that they managed to disappear thanks to the fact that they were in sparsely populated areas, and therefore fled without a trace. How they did it so quickly, however, remains a mystery"
“I’d say we’re done. Thanks for your time, Davis"
"Thank to you to invite me" the professor replied, getting up and disappearing from the scene.
The camera returned to frame the face of the presenter: “And now let’s focus on the question that many people have been asking themselves in recent times: how should we act towards the dinosaurs, once the prisoners of Cartago are all released? Governments haven’t yet made any statements. Some of our interviewees think that the best choice is ’live and let them live’, but many more believe instead that natural order should be restored. To answer this fateful, unfortunate question, the famous professor Ian Malcolm, who has recently returned to the fore, recently spoke to the NMWA. Here are his statements"
Ian Malcolm’s face appeared on the camera. The scientist had no hint of the rebellious and arrogant disposition on his face, but he was indeed very serious. When he spoke there was not a single hint of uncertainty in his voice.
“What Dr. Henry Wu did was create a large-scale ecological disaster, but don’t think it’s his fault alone. All of this was inevitable. Humanity’s arrogance in considering itself the master of every form of life on this planet has led it to unleash a power, the power of genetics, which until now had belonged only to mother nature. We have opened Pandora’s box, and now we no longer have the ability to close it again. The best choice to make would be to restore the natural balance of things, but as any scientist can confirm, as Robert Oz himself, who has studied the problem for years, can say with absolute certainty, this action is no longer in our power. We have created a new opponent, one we can no longer measure ourselves against without suffering terrible losses and without causing our own extinction. Dinosaurs and pterosaurs have become intelligent and it is likely that other animals will follow them in the future, and there is nothing we can do about it. It is not possible to cure the Mother Cell and eliminating infected dinosaurs would mean losing millions, perhaps even billions of men in a bloody war, and even if we win the planetary ecosystem it would be devastated, condemning us to rapid decay. Regardless of whether we win or lose, we will face the extinction of our species. These creatures reigned on the planet long before us, and if we aren’t careful they will end up completely supplanting us"
Ian’s face became even more serious. "Now the best choice we can make, indeed, the only choice that doesn’t preclude our annihilation, is to accept that these new intelligent creatures exist. Dinosaurs and humans will have to learn to live together. We will have to live together on the same planet, or no one will anymore. Because we, gentlemen, live in the period in which humans cease to be the dominant species on the planet, and to ensure survival they will have to coexist peacefully with all the others. This is no longer the Human Planet. Welcome... to Prehistoric Planet!"
