Leon immediately separated himself from her, his expression forcefully hardened.

"Whose fault is it?"

He didn’t sound as confident as he used to.

Thyra just smiled, her gaze dropping to his lower body.

"Oh well, that proves that you’re at not impotent. It’s a good thing."

Her words made Leon feel awkward that the bulge receded as fast as it appeared.

Leon sighed, then looked around the small room. There was a small window at the top, which he immediately locked and blocked with some planks and irons, nailing them to the wall.

Finally, after getting into a safe location, the adrenaline rush he was feeling had gone, and he could finally rest.

There was no bed in the room, but there were carpets. He folded them so they were thick enough, then lay down on them.

Thyra watched him, her expression subtle.

The next morning, Leon woke up to his alarm at eight o’clock. He stood up instinctively, ready to grab his clothes and head to class.

However, he froze, seeing Thyra standing some distance from him.

He blinked, recognition slowly slipping into his eyes.

Then, he remembered everything.

"Ugh... it’s really not something I can adapt to so quickly."

Thyra chuckled, amused. "It’s not unexpected. You’re already adapting enough. Those who still run from zombies and are waiting for your government are the most delusional."

Leon nodded. "With the way things are, I don’t think the government and the military wouldn’t have collapsed."

The Shadow Demon nodded, then handed him a scroll.

"It seems you were too tired so you forgot about this."

His eyes lit up, remembering the scroll he had gotten from killing the mutated housefly.

Collecting it from Thyra, he checked it’s information.

Leon was pleasantly surprised, not expecting it to be this... impressive.

"Is my luck really that good?"

Thyra didn’t catch his whisper, but she saw the surprise on his face.

"That skill will cover for your greatest shortcoming. Although you have the weapon and good abilities, you’re ultimately just an average person. You haven’t been trained in martial arts before. So this skill is really important to you."

He agreed with her, as he had clearly felt his inexperience during his battle with the mutated viper.

Tightening his grip on the scroll, he thought. The scroll burned mysteriously, then disappeared from his grip.

Leon trembled, feeling something go through him with a chill. There were no additional memories of a training or anything similar, but he suddenly felt very experienced in combat.

In his mind, he replayed the battle with the viper, and simulated himself reacting to it’s movements and single-handedly killing it.

When he opened his eyes again, something had changed about his gaze. Even his whole countenance had been altered.

Thyra tilted her head, her purple eyes blinking in a charming way.

"Hmm~? You look more mature somehow."

Although Leon had average looks, he suddenly seemed more attractive. It wasn’t that his face had changed, but his presence had become something heavier.

He looked at her, then shook his head. "I don’t understand what you’re talking about though."

He rolled his shoulders, then stood up.

"Looks like those guys are waiting for me."

He walked to the door of the storage room, then unlocked it and stepped out.

Reymond, who was about to knock, stepped back in surprise.

"Ah, good thing you’re awake now, Leon. I was just about to call you for a meeting."

Leon nodded and began heading to the basketball court. Reymond followed behind him, slightly confused.

Something felt different about Leon, but he couldn’t place a finger on it.

When they reached the basketball court, Leon saw all the surviving students eating food that had been distributed to them.

’They must have gotten those from the cafeteria.’

He noted, then turned to three individuals seated together and discussing—Director Sam, Selene, and another beautiful girl he didn’t recognize.

The three people turned to him, different emotions in their gazes.

Selene’s gaze remained cold, even carrying a hint of disgust—not to Leon, but for men generally.

The other girl was smiling gently, her expression carrying warmth and admiration. Leon was surprised that there was someone who could still smile in this situation.

As for Director Sam, he was simply staring at Leon with a guarded gaze. The world had changed, and the old laws had no one to enforce them.

Naturally, everyone was wary of each other.

"Good morning, Leon."

The unfamiliar girl greeted him as he took a seat at the round table, turning Leon’s attention back to her.

Although he didn’t know how she got his name, he simply nodded and returned her greeting.

As soon as everyone had gathered, Selene started talking.

"Since we’re all here, let’s begin the meeting."

She regarded everyone with a serious gaze.

"We have currently found shelter, but that is not all we need now. We need other basic necessities like food, clothing, and medicine. Most people here are wet and we don’t have clothes to change into. Soon, people would develop cough and cold, or worse, fever."

Director Sam nodded, agreeing with her.

"Although we have found a little food here, it would barely sustain our population for three days."

She paused, letting her words sink in.

"What we need now are a change of clothes, food, and medicine. How do we go about it?"
