World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability

Leon returned to the field house with Fel, before heading to his own small room to relax.

To his surprise, someone was there waiting for him. Leon froze, momentarily stunned by her beauty.

He shook his head, averting his gaze from her face.

"Uh... Thyra. I..."

He fell silent, not knowing what to say. He had criticized her race and made her leave angrily.

Even now that she returned, an apology didn’t seem enough.

"What are you acting like a nervous wreck for~?"

Thyra sounded amused, then sat on a table near the wall.

"I wasn’t angry at you. I only left because there was something I needed to attend to."

Leon blinked, surprised and bewildered.

"You weren’t angry?"

She nodded, looking at him with a playful gaze. "Of course not. If there’s one supreme quality of a succubus, it’s their shamelessness. Else, don’t you think other races would ragebait them all the time?"

Leon lowered his head, pondering about it.

Indeed, she was right. Succubi were naturally shameless since they could display their nakedness proudly without any worries.

’I haven’t seen a real succubus, though.’

Thyra didn’t count, as she was only a half-succubus.

’Wait a moment.’ His eyes snapped back to her. "You said you had some things to attend to. Am I not the only one who’s supposed to be able to see you?"

Thyra leaned back, crossing her legs elegantly. "Indeed. But that only applies to your world and other low-level worlds. On the higher plane, the Tier Three and above beings can perceive or even see my current form."

"Oh, I see." He nodded in understanding, then asked. "So where did you go? Home?"

She nodded. "I went back to my faction. Although Asmodeus and the others were surprised to see me, they were at least glad that I was alright."

Leon’s eyes narrowed faintly. ’Asmodeus. That’s definitely not someone weak. Probably on the same level as Thyra or even higher.’

At first, he felt awe, then a bit of caution and dread.

’Those guys must know about her condition, and that she’d need me to create a body for her. What if they come to take me away just to help her create a body? Or even if they don’t, they would definitely grow greedy of they discover my extraction ability.’

None of the possibilities sounded pleasant, and it made him incredibly wary.

"What’s the matter? You’re tense."

He turned to her, looking into her visible eye for a few seconds, then he looked away.

"It’s nothing."

Taking off his top, he let the cool wind wash away the heat he was feeling and laid on the folded carpet rugs.

"Hm, I can tell that you’re lying to me. But it’s fine. Instead, tell me about how things have been going."

Seraph nodded and relayed the events to her, ending with the disposal of a trashy guy whose name he couldn’t recall.

Thyra rested her chin in her palm, amused.

"You gave the poison skill to the shy girl? That’s cute."

He replied with a tired sigh. "She has an important ability that I don’t want to lose. So she needs to be able to defend herself."

Thyra agreed with him, knowing that girl would surely be useful once she grew stronger.

"And if she dies, I’ll just have to take the ability scrolls back from her corpse."

This statement finally made the black-haired beauty surprised. She studied his expression—it was perfectly normal, like he had just passed out a normal comment.

’Could that Martial Mastery Trait be affecting his heart?’

It was the likeliest possibility, but she wasn’t disturbed.

’This will work too. The faster his heart grows cold, the longer he can survive in the apocalypse.’

The two of them chatted idly until Leon got bored and decided to sleep. Taking one last look at a family picture on his phone, he turned to his side and closed his eyes.

Everyone in the field house woke up early. Today was another important day in their lives, as it would determine if their escape from the university would be smooth or not.

Selene wore a combat gown she had gotten as a reward during her hunt with her childhood friend three days ago.

On the other hand, Gwen, Reymond, and Samson were all dressed in comfortable clothes that allowed easy and smooth movements.

"Yawn-!" Samson stretched with a yawn, drowsiness still in his eyes.

Selene glanced at him. "You better be at your peak. I don’t want you yawning mid-battle."

Scowling, the middle-aged man threw her an annoyed look.

"What do you take me for? A kid? Learn to be respectful sometimes."

Being scolded like that, Selene’s glare intensified, and she stepped forward.

"I don’t show respect for disgusting creatures like men."

Gwen immediately grabbed her arm and pulled back.

"Come on, we shouldn’t be getting into an argument right now."

Reymond also appeared beside Samson and patted him on the shoulder.

The charged atmosphere was immediately dispersed, and continued preparing while waiting for the last person.

"Where is he anyway?" Selene asked irritatedly.

Before anyone could answer her, they heard a set of footsteps approaching.

Leon and his group came over, all clad in the basic combat gear and looking like a proper squad.

After having five days to themselves, Leon had brought his squad to a standard level, with the weakest being Fel at Level 10.

Everyday, they moved a 500-meter radius around the field house, hunting down zombies and mutated beasts they saw.

With Leon present, they weren’t at the risk of dying even if a stronger creature attacked them.

"Wait a moment. How did you all get combat gears when I haven’t gotten any?"

Reymond complained jokingly, even sulking while biting his thumb.

Leon ignored the Selene’s simp, instead focussing on the girl herself.

"Are you ready? This trip will definitely be dangerous."

Selene nodded and turned around, walking towards the exit.

"The buses are our keys to leaving the university. I’ll do whatever it takes to get them."

"Slaughtering some strong beasts is not a problem at all."

Leon chuckled and followed her with the others, stepping out of the field house and locking the doors behind them.
