World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability

Something dark shot out of the broken window of the building, straight at Marie. The young lady raised her shield instinctively, but was forced back by the hit.

The dark creature bounced off her shield and landed on the ground, lowering its shoulders and growling at them.

Leon’s gaze hardened. ’This cat is strong. Is it the same with the other cats inside?’

As if to answer him, from the windows, several pairs of yellow eyes opened up, staring at the group silently.

"Here they come." Captain Jester warned. Then...

Chaos broke out.

The large cat that was standing opposite them made a meowing sound. The sound wasn’t a normal meow. It was a predator’s roar wrapped in a cat’s voice, making Leon’s skin crawl.

At the black cat’s cry, the other cats burst out from the windows, charging at the human intruders.

Selene’s ice spikes and Gwen’s arrows shot forward first, striking several cats and sending them tumbling backward.

Leon pressed his foot hard against the ground, then dashed forward like an arrow let loose.

His body went low, and when he rose, two cat heads flew into the air with blood gushing from the necks.

The other cats around him scattered in disarray, but the other humans were already upon them.

Reymond’s blade sparked with lightning, and he vertically sliced a mutated cat into two parts. Another cat flashed at him, its claws raised to shred him apart.

Shifting slightly, he avoided a fatal blow and slammed his elbow into the cat’s neck.

There was a cracking sound, and the beast fell to the ground, its neck broken. Without turning, he twisted his hand backward and stabbed into its ribs, killing it.

He didn’t bother looking at his kill. Instead, he removed his sword and struck at a cat that was aiming for Gwen.

The brown-haired girl flinched, then offered him a smile. "Thank you."

Reymond nodded and stayed close to her. He knew her arrows dealt great damage against the mutated beasts, and he decided to stay and protect her.

Suddenly, from the corner of his eyes, he saw Felix dash forward, shooting a chain dagger at one of the mutated cats. The beast’s head was pierced cleanly, and it was yanked forward just in time to block a blow for him.

"Heh!" A sneer crossed his lips, and he stabbed into the other cat’s neck with a thin black dagger.

His movement was fast, causing Reymond’s eyes to narrow. ’Is he the agility type?’

Unfortunately, he couldn’t focus on another person in this kind of chaotic battle. He was occupied with defending Gwen while she shot down the cats with her arrows.

’These beasts are more than I expected.’

He frowned as he took down another one, electrocuting it to death with his lightning ability.

A few meters ahead, the police team were working in perfect sync. Lauren was the tank of the group, carrying a long, rectangular shield at the forefront of the formation. Behind him, Lieutenant Zhong shot out arrows straight at the mutated cats, killing them after a few blows. The other two officers had a spear and a lance, using the pole weapons to keep the mutated cats away from Lieutenant Zhong.

As for Captain Jester, the man had become a being wrapped in flames. He held no weapon. Instead, he fought with his hands.

As a white mutated cat jumped at him with its dreadful maw opened wide, he grabbed it by the throat, swung it up in the air, then forcefully slammed it against the ground.

Bang!

The ground cracked, and blood dripped from the mouth of the cat as it lay sprawled on the ground, unable to move.

Raising his leg, the man ruthlessly kicked it in the chest, crushing its ribs and killing it.

Selene stayed with Leon’s squad, keeping an eye on them while she killed the mutated cats that tried to attack her. She was curious to see how strong they were now, and how good Leon’s training was.

As she controlled two ice spikes to pin down a mutated cat, she noticed another one coming from the corner of her eyes.

Suddenly, before it reached her, Marie’s spear shot forward, stabbing into its ribs and skewering it. The mutated cat didn’t die immediately since its heart wasn’t crushed.

The beautiful auburn-haired lady didn’t care. She slammed the cat to the ground, and Miguel appeared behind it, his hammer raised.

Before the beast could struggle to get back up, the hammer fell on its head, crushing it to paste.

Selene glanced at Miguel’s perfectly-normal expression and her eyes narrowed. ’He’s lost all compassion for beasts. Inevitable.’

Slowly, the number of mutated cats dwindled until there were only a few left. Seeing that almost a hundred of them were dead, the remaining cats tried to escape into the building.

Captain Jester lunged at two of them, grabbing their necks and pinning them to the ground. With a brutal grip, he snapped their necks—killing them.

Leon dashed after another, but instead of killing it, he merely grabbed the neck and pinned it to the ground.

While the others were confused about what he was doing, he turned his head and looked straight at Richard.

Thankfully, the young man was also paying attention to him so he immediately understood what Leon wanted.

He hurried over with his sword in his hand, then crouched beside the restrained cat. It was still struggling, but under Leon’s grip, it could do nothing but remain still.

"Do it," Leon said calmly, locking eyes with the mutated cat. Unlike normal cats that displayed intelligence and cuteness, all that this cat showed was ferocity and madness.

’Unless they become ranked, they won’t change from this state.’

Thinking this, he focused his attention on Richard.

Richard pricked his finger, then let his blood drop on the head of the beast. His ability was already activated. As soon as the blood landed on the cat’s head, a current rushed through its body, and it convulsed.

Its struggles intensified for a few seconds, then vanished. The mutated cat blinked, and then looked at Richard with a peculiar gaze.

Still cautious, Leon slowly released it and watched it rise to its feet.
