World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability

The next morning, Leon woke up early to Thyra’s beautiful voice.

In a few seconds, his eyes cleared, and his expression turned focused.

He stood up, took a thorough bath, then came out with water dripping from him and a towel wrapped around his waist.

Thyra blinked, staring at him in bewilderment. For a brief millisecond, she was stunned.

’Wow... it is indeed true that when men are serious, they look even more charming.’

Leon caught her staring and asked jokingly. "You have never seen a man half-naked before?"

She smiled and answered. "I have. Thousands of men have tried to impress me. But this is the first time I’m impressed."

This time, it was Leon’s turn to be astonished.

He looked at her for a moment, then shook his head. "Your perception is skewed."

Although he knew that his physique had changed greatly, and he now looked like a person with a sleeper build, it wasn’t anything impressive. At least compared to what Thyra would have seen in the vast universe.

’She said she has seen thousands, so... yeah. Definitely not impressive.’

She didn’t bother arguing, as she knew he wouldn’t believe her anyway.

Leon quickly got dressed, putting on the combat gear first, then the Asura Armor over it.

To his relief, it wasn’t unnecessarily heavy, and was light enough to allow him free movement.

The only thing he found disturbing was the ghostly skull insignia imprinted on the left side of the breastplate.

’Well, as long as it doesn’t come alive, I’m fine.’

Smiling, he thought to himself and strapped his greatsword to his back.

Just then, Thyra spoke. "You see, that armor belongs to the Asura Demon Faction. But only their lowest warriors wear it, so it’s pretty much treated as crap by them."

Leon paused, his smile vanishing. "Asura Demon? I should have expected that. Anyway, it’s none of my concerns. This is a Tier One Armor with 300 defense power. For me, it’s a treasure."

Shrugging casually, he regained his calm expression and gave the room one last look.

Somehow, he felt nostalgic. He had gotten so used to this room.

An extremely faint smile appeared on his lips, then disappeared as he stepped outside.

In the basketball court, everyone was ready. They were all carrying one or two sets of spare clothes, while waiting anxiously for the others to finish.

There was no breakfast this morning, as Selene had given everyone the privilege of eating good food yesterday night.

That could be their last meal, so everyone savored it.

"Is everyone ready?"

Selene’s gaze swept across the court, checking every student.

"Alright." She nodded. "Just like I explained yesterday. If you’re going towards the north or the east, then you’re with Samson. Otherwise, you’re with us."

The students divided themselves into two groups, and Selene was glad that fewer students had chosen her group.

"Let’s get moving."

Everyone stepped outside, and filed into the buses.

"Who can drive well? I’ll be responsible for protecting the bus so I won’t be able to drive."

Samson asked, and a few people stepped forward. Narrowing his eyes, he chose one of them to drive, then entered the bus with them.

Reymond and Gwen stayed inside the bus with him, while Leon, Selene, and the other evolvers stayed inside the other bus.

Soon, the two porcupine buses drove out of the field house.

With Samson’s bus at the front, they headed straight for the North Gate at maximum speed, not wanting to be held down by anything.

To their astonishment, there were no newly migrated zombies around the restaurants.

Instead of feeling relieved, Leon frowned. "No zombies? Very fishy."

Seated behind him, Selene also frowned faintly. "We should be on guar—"

Suddenly, Samson’s bus screeched to a halt, and the second bus immediately stopped behind it to avoid hitting it.

Without hesitation, Leon opened the door and got outside. The other evolvers did the same, getting off the buses.

When they all gathered at the front of the first bus, their expressions darkened.

"What the hell? This is a total blockade." Miguel gasped, seeing the dense horde of zombies blocking the path ahead.

Leon’s frown deepened. "I knew something was really strange about the zombies yesterday. So that was merely a ruse."

Selene’s eyes widened. "A ruse? So they intentionally lured us into coming here?"

"Pretty much. We can’t go back now." He unsheathed his weapon, then turned to the drivers.

"We’re going to clear the path. Follow behind us."

The young man looked terrified, but nodded his head.

"Well then..."

Taking a step forward, Leon looked around and immediately spotted the zombie which he had an old grudge with.

"Hm? I can smell revenge burning in you, Little Leon~" Thyra chuckled, looking excited for the showdown.

Before anyone from both sides moved, a cry echoed from within the zombie army, and then they surged forward.

Leon’s eyes narrowed, and he blasted straight at the particular zombie.

Selene and the others engaged the other normal zombies, clashing with them and paving the way for the two buses to pass.

Clang!

Leon’s sword was blocked by the long blade-like claws of the zombies, but he wasn’t worried at all.

He easily forced it back, deeper into the zombie army, then he kicked it hard in the chest.

The zombie was sent flying, slamming into some other of its kind and toppling them to the ground.

The zombies around Leon immediately rushed to attack him, but were intercepted by thin ice spears that pierced their heads smoothly.

The messages flooded in, but Leon ignored them. His gaze was focused on the dark zombie that was trying to get up.

Running up to it, he jumped high in the sky and brought his sword down onto it.

Bang!

The blade hit its crossed claws with a heavy force, creating a small crater around it. The zombies that had fallen with it were crushed to meat paste.

Before Leon could react, it pulled back its legs and slammed them into his chest, sending him skidding backwards.

He stabilized himself by stabbing his sword into the ground, then slowly raised his head.

His black eyes looked like the starless void, ready to consume the black zombie.
