The Devil Who Claimed Me

Mila returned to the mansion. She was about to head toward her room when the maid stopped her.

"Miss, you will be staying in the master bedroom now," she said. "Mr. Russo’s room."

A flicker of resistance rose within her. She didn’t want to stay with him in the same room. At the same time, she was afraid he would punish her again if she disobeyed him.

"Alright." She reluctantly followed her.

The master bedroom was vast, far larger than anything she had expected. A massive bed stood at the center, draped in a light silk sheet. The walls were lined with sleek wooden panels and artwork. Floor-to-ceiling windows stretched across one side, veiled with sheer curtains.

Everything about the room spoke of luxury. For a moment, Mila stood there in a daze, looking around. She didn’t feel any comfort. It was just a more beautiful cage.

"Miss." The maid’s voice drew her back to the present. She gestured to the neatly arranged clothes on the bed. "These are for you. If you need more, you can tell me. And there is a closet."

She pointed at the door on the right. "You can keep your things there."

"Thanks," Mila said softly.

Once the maid left, silence enveloped her.

Mila let out a sigh. "I need to take a bath."

She stepped into the bathroom. It was just as grand.

She filled the bathtub with warm water and added shower gel. The soft smell of lavender filled the air. She lowered herself into the water.

For the first time in days, her body relaxed. The tension in her muscles melted away.

It reminded her of her home. After long hospital shifts, she used to sink in the baths like this, letting the exhaustion wash away.

The memory made her emotional. Her chest tightened.

"Home." Her eyes burned.

She missed her place, the familiar people. She had lost everything. Her life, her independence, her career—the one thing she had built with her own efforts.

Her past wasn’t perfect. Her father didn’t love her. Her stepmother and half-sister bullied her. Even the man she had loved for all those years had cheated on her.

Yet, she had her friends, whom she could rely on. She had a promising career, a purpose in her life. And now—there was nothing.

She had already lost her mother when she was a child. Later, her stepmother and half-sister snatched her father away. One by one, everything she held dear was ripped from her life.

The man she loved, the career she had worked so hard for—all gone.

She had nothing left now, living in an unknown place with strangers and with guards watching her steps.

How long was she going to survive here?

Tears slipped down her cheeks.

"Mom..." Her voice cracked. "Are you watching me?"

To secure her future, her mother had left properties and shares in the company. She had wanted to give her daughter a life where she wouldn’t suffer.

Yet, Mila’s life was full of misery. She was lost, trapped, and alone.

"I miss you."

She let herself fall apart.

The door knocked, startling her.

"Mila." Dominic’s voice drifted through the closed door. "Are you inside?"

Mila wiped her tears away quickly. "Yes."

"Take your time."

Silence followed.

Mila waited. She perked up her ears to hear any sound from the room. But it was quiet, as if no one was there.

Thinking he might have left, she slowly came out of the bathtub, wrapped a towel around herself, and stepped out of the bathroom.

But she froze right outside the door.

Dominic had not left. He leaned against the wall casually, smoking.

Her breathing hitched. She instinctively stepped back, but her foot slipped. Her body tilted backward.

"Ah..." A cry escaped her lips.

Before she could hit the ground, strong arms caught her. His cigarette fell to the floor as he pulled her into him.

Her body collided with his chest. Mila’s breath faltered. For a moment, they stayed like that.

He tightened his grip slightly, steadying her.

’You should be more careful.’ He wanted to say this, but swallowed the words when his gaze dropped to her cleavage.

"Are you trying to seduce me?" Those words came out of his mouth without hesitation. "If yes, it worked."

Mila tried to wriggle out of his grip, pushing at his chest. "I slipped."

He let out a faint, knowing smile. "Is that what you are calling it?"

Her eyes flashed. "I wasn’t trying anything."

"Of course not," he smirked. "After throwing yourself onto me, you said you didn’t do anything. Nice excuse."

Mila glared at him. "I don’t need to seduce you. Let me go."

But he wouldn’t. "After arousing me, you are expecting I’d release you. It’s not happening."

He leaned in, brushing his lips on her earlobe.

It was not a kiss, just a soft touch of his lips. But it sent a shiver down her spine. His presence wrapped around her, overwhelming.

Despite herself, she couldn’t stop the electric impulse coursing through her veins. Her skin tightened with goosebumps; her core tingled.

She hated this – hated how her body reacted, how her heart betrayed her.

He smirked, sensing her body stiffening in his arms. "You are trembling."

"I am not." Her fingers tightened against his shirt. "Let go."

He chuckled. "You always say that. But in reality, you don’t want to."

He pulled back slightly to watch her. His gaze turned more intense as if searching for something she refused to show.

"You feel it, don’t you?"

"I feel nothing," she denied, trying to shove him away.

"Stop lying. I can see through you." He leaned in again and whispered in her ear, "Your body is reacting. You want me."

Mila’s heart skipped a beat. Every nerve in her body felt alive. She wanted to push him. She should push him. But her body didn’t obey her.

"Accept it, Mila."

"You are delusional." She wriggled.

In one swift motion, he turned with her and pressed her against the wall. Before Mila could react, her hands were lifted and held above her head. His towering frame closed in on her.

She was trapped.

His breath caressed her face as he spoke. "You are burning. I can feel it."

Heat rushed to her face. She couldn’t deny how her body reacted to his touch. But she wouldn’t accept it.

"No. You are wrong."

A shadow crossed his eyes, something dark, more determined.

His hand slid down her side slowly, from her arm to her chest, where he paused briefly, watching her reaction.

When his fingers brushed over her boobs, her breathing grew uneven. Her whole body tingled.

His hand drifted lower, stopping at her thigh, just at the edge of the towel.

"I noticed the way your cheeks changed color. Are you still going to deny what you feel?"

His fingers slipped to the inner thigh.

Mila’s breathing grew ragged. She knew where it was going. Her heart pounded faster, anticipation coiling tightly inside her. But she still shook her head adamantly, holding onto her resistance.

"I feel nothing."

He didn’t argue. Instead, he locked his gaze onto hers, a faint smirk touching his lips.

The next minute, he pushed his fingers to her core.

Her reaction was immediate. She sucked air sharply before she could stop it. She wanted to leave, to escape this moment. But she couldn’t move. His presence held her in place.

When he felt the wetness, he looked into her eyes yet again. "Still denying it? You are already wet, just from my closeness."

Mila’s face burned in embarrassment. She couldn’t meet his eyes. She tried to pull away, but he kept her in her place.

His finger entered her, pulling a cry from her lips. A wave of sensation spread through her body, making it hard to think of anything, harder to resist.

He continued moving his finger in and out. "Still nothing?" he pressed.

Mila’s eyes were wide, her mouth falling apart. The sensation consumed her, leaving her speechless. The tension built slowly, relentlessly.

His pace grew faster, more urgent. Mila’s legs weakened beneath her as the pressure inside her intensified, rising higher with every second.

"Do you feel it now?" he asked again.

"Yes," she whispered breathlessly. Her resistance was finally shattered. "I feel it. Don’t stop, please."

He pulled her closer and captured her lips, then inserted another finger. His pace grew more insistent.

Her legs shook violently as the sensation peaked, leaving her unsteady. Her body leaned onto him, and he held her close as the intensity swept through her.

For a moment, neither of them moved. Only the sound of her unsteady breathing filled the space.

Dominic watched her quietly. A satisfied look crossed his eyes. "Don’t lie to me again," he whispered in her ear. "I’ll always know."

She didn’t argue. She didn’t have the strength to.

He gently lay her on the bed. His eyes lingered on her face and then drifted to her lips. The urge to kiss her and continue this intimacy surged within him. He leaned in, seeking her lips.

His phone rang.

Frustrated, he let out a sigh and stepped back. When he checked the phone, he saw Lucas’ name.

"Hello?"

"We have an issue. Be at the dock immediately."

Beep

The urgency in Lucas’ tone made him frown. Dominic knew it was serious. Without saying a word, he strode out.

Mila lifted her head and watched him leave. Her chest tightened.

’He left just like that,’ she muttered bitterly.

She wanted him to be by her side, to hold her, and to say something sweet. But he didn’t care what she felt.

"What was I even expecting? To him, it was just a game, a challenge he refuses to lose."

Her body felt heavy, her mind even more so. She lay there, trying to gather herself. Tears slipped down the corners of her eyes.
