Then Ivan tossed the bottle of ice water upward and used his tentacles to rip it apart completely.

As countless drops rained down, he raised both hands and started tapping every single droplet with his fingertips.

Right now he looked like a goddamn symphony conductor, calm and smooth as hell.

Everything around him moved in extreme slow motion. He had total control over every water drop’s path.

It was like gravity had quietly fucked off in his presence.

As time went on, another pair of arms sprouted from Ivan’s back. Twenty fingers played the piece at once, and every drop that came near got smashed to nothing.

Night was falling. Hughie had cut Homelander’s rap sheet down to two or three items, like secretly using Compound V to create super terrorists.

They actually had evidence for those. It was just the dead girl’s testimony from before, but it was enough to raise serious questions.

Of course they couldn’t pull out anything more concrete. The risk was too high. If Homelander got his hands on real proof and handed it to Vought, all their previous work would go straight down the toilet.

So Hughie went with a mix of truth and bullshit. He wasn’t dumb enough to expect Ryan to turn on his dad overnight. That shit was never going to happen. Homelander was still Ryan’s real father, after all.

All they needed was to plant one seed of doubt in the kid’s head. Let it slowly rot Homelander’s perfect image in Ryan’s eyes over time.

If they managed that much, Hughie and the crew would be plenty happy.

"Where the hell is that guy?" Frenchie asked, obviously talking about Ivan.

Butcher checked the time on his phone. "We give him another half hour, then we roll out."

Right as he finished speaking, steady footsteps came down the stairs. Ivan appeared in a black overcoat, still rocking Yuuji’s face. "Nine fifty-nine. Right on time."

"Let’s move," Butcher said. He grabbed a pistol off the table and tossed it to Ivan, then stuffed a modified submachine gun into his own jacket.

In the car, Hughie tried to strike up a conversation with Ivan a couple times, but the man completely ignored him.

Hughie eventually gave up and just stared out the window like an idiot.

After driving for about an hour, Butcher pulled into a sketchy, out-of-the-way neighborhood and found the children’s toy supermarket at the given address.

"Stay sharp, everyone," Butcher said, waving them out of the car.

Butcher pulled the submachine gun from his jacket and took the lead, moving carefully into the toy supermarket. Most of the toys inside were Vought-branded superhero merch and tie-ins.

Ivan even spotted a life-size Homelander standee.

It was getting late, so the place was completely empty. No customers, no cashier. Looked like it wasn’t even open for normal business.

As they pushed deeper inside, a sudden noise came from Kimiko’s direction.

By the time Ivan and the others reached the security room, Kimiko had already twisted the guard’s head clean off. Frenchie and Hughie stared in shock. Frenchie couldn’t believe she would just murder some random guy.

He rushed over to the body and used his gun barrel to pull aside the guard’s shirt, revealing a tattoo of two snakes coiled around the sun. "Shining Light. That psycho terrorist group."

No wonder Kimiko lost her shit the second she saw him and snapped his neck like a twig.

That same organization had killed Kimiko’s parents, kidnapped her and her little brother, and destroyed what was left of their family.

Kimiko then climbed up the metal shelves in the security room to get a better view. Her eyes quickly locked onto a man in a baseball cap who was sneaking around. He looked like he had just arrived. The moment their eyes met, Kimiko launched herself at him.

The man was Kimiko’s brother, Mouse. He stared in disbelief as the two of them crashed into a tight hug.

"So that’s what she meant by ’little brother’," Frenchie muttered.

Ivan stood behind Kimiko, watching the sibling reunion while using his analysis ability. Kenji, also known as Mouse, had decent powers, but his body was way too fragile. Ivan didn’t have that problem at all.

"Wait!" Hughie suddenly realized Butcher had no idea what was going on. He rushed over and tackled Butcher just as the man was about to pull the trigger. "Don’t shoot! That’s Kimiko’s brother!"

Butcher didn’t give a fuck whose brother Mouse was. He just wanted to bag the kid and deliver him.

His deal with Mallory was simple: either get solid leads on the trafficker’s boss or hand over a super terrorist to the CIA. The Agency was shitting itself over the idea of supes smuggling into America and pulling off attacks.

Handing Mouse over would get Mallory to help locate where Becca was being held.

The second Butcher squeezed the trigger, Hughie slammed into him from the side and knocked him to the ground.

The tranquilizer round flew wild and shattered the glass right next to Mouse.

The shattered glass triggered Mouse. He shoved both hands forward and an invisible wave of telekinetic force slammed into Frenchie and the others, launching them backward. Boom! They crashed through the shelves behind them, nearly getting buried under a mountain of falling merchandise.

But it wasn’t over.

Mouse thrust his hands out again, ripping the shelves on both sides off the floor and hurling them straight at Butcher’s crew.

Boom! The heavy steel shelves twisted and warped, merchandise exploding everywhere. Luckily Butcher and the rest reacted fast enough to dodge the incoming avalanche.

Still raging, Mouse wasn’t done. He raised his hands toward the ceiling. The steel racks hanging above groaned under unbearable pressure, the cables visibly twisting and straining. Right before they ripped free, a massive force kicked him flying.

What a fucking impressive ability!

The only real flaw was having to use his arms to direct it. Other than that, it was nearly perfect.

Ivan remembered a few other characters in The Boys with telekinetic powers. If he could merge them all, it would get damn close to flawless.

"Mm!!" Kimiko watched her brother get back on his feet and thrust his hands toward Ivan. She couldn’t speak, so she desperately tried to warn Ivan with her eyes to dodge.

Ivan didn’t dodge.

He walked straight into the telekinetic wave, pushing forward step by step.

Yuuji’s black hair whipped backward. Everything around him flew away under the crushing pressure. As Mouse poured on more power, the tiles under Ivan’s feet started ripping up one by one.

Every step Ivan took left a deep crater in the floor. Two clear lines of footprints that looked fucking terrifying.

His coat flapped violently in the storm of force.

Finally Ivan stopped. He stood completely still, yet his body was sliding backward. Rip! The black overcoat tore apart, cracks spreading fast across the fabric. But not a single hair on his face even moved.

Butcher, Hughie, and the others, hiding behind the wrecked shelves and peeking through the gaps, were completely stunned.

"Holy shit! What the fuck kind of monster is he?" Hughie’s mouth hung wide open, lost in pure shock.

"Good thing we brought him along..."

Butcher muttered with relief.

"He feels even stronger than before."

Mouse’s telekinetic powers were straight-up fucked up, but what really blew Hughie’s mind was that Ivan was even more fucked up.

The guy just stood there taking that kind of force for so long. His power was off the charts.

Seconds ticked by. Then Mouse let out a furious roar. A telekinetic blast way stronger than before slammed into Ivan and sent him flying.

Boom! Ivan smashed straight into the concrete wall.

"Ah!!" Mouse raised his arms again and yanked the steel racks from the ceiling down on top of him. The ground shook as countless racks came crashing down, burying Ivan completely in seconds.

With Ivan no longer moving, Mouse finally stopped. He bent over, hands on his knees, sucking in harsh, desperate breaths. It was finally over. That bastard had been the toughest opponent he had ever faced, hands down.

"Mmm!"

The sudden fight had Kimiko on edge. Wanting to protect her brother without hurting Frenchie and the others, she grabbed Mouse’s hand and tried to pull him out of the toy supermarket.

Instead, Mouse ripped free from her grip and started walking straight toward Butcher’s group.

"Mmm!" Kimiko grabbed him again, her face full of guilt. She had promised to protect him. Now Compound V had worked on her, and her brother was being dragged into the same nightmare experiments. The pain of it still haunted her.

"Let go. I need to check if they’re dead." Mouse’s expression was ice cold.

For a second, Kimiko saw the same look those extremist bastards always had on his face. Hatred had completely consumed her brother. He wanted to kill anyone who threatened him. He wanted revenge. He wanted everyone to suffer.

"Sister, have you forgotten? The village where we grew up was destroyed by people like them. Those laser eyes just slaughtered everything without a care. I can’t forget that day! I want revenge! I want these people to feel exactly what I felt!"

Mouse roared in fury and shoved Kimiko’s hand away. Then he made a tearing motion toward Butcher and the others.

The wrecked shelves in front of Butcher, Frenchie, and Hughie split right down the middle under his control and smashed violently to both sides.

"Oh shit!" Butcher’s face turned ugly as hell.
