Scott glanced toward the door.

"Did you hear that? They are here."

He immediately stood and walked toward the entrance.

Zachary also rose from his seat, though he remained near the seating area rather than approaching directly.

Once the door opened, a doctor and two nurses carefully pushed Sienna’s bed inside the room.

The moment Zachary saw her lying there quietly, his entire focus locked onto her instantly.

Sienna looked pale beneath the soft hospital lighting. Her long hair spread messily over the pillow, while the IV line remained connected to her hand. Despite everything, her sleeping face still looked peaceful.

Only look at her like that enough to make Zachary’s chest feel strangely heavy.

The nurses carefully moved her into the bedroom while quietly explaining several things to Scott. He nodded seriously while checking her chart himself.

Zachary stayed silent the entire time. His eyes never left Sienna.

After several minutes, the medical staff finally finished arranging everything and quietly left the VIP ward.

The silence returned once more.

Now, only Zachary, Scott, and the sleeping Sienna remained inside the huge bedroom.

Scott walked back toward the living room and sat down again with his coffee in hand.

Meanwhile, Zachary remained standing for several seconds before finally returning to the sofa across from him. His expression looked calmer now compared to earlier, though the worry had not completely disappeared from his eyes.

After a long moment of silence, he finally spoke. "Thank you, Scott. I really appreciate it."

Scott waved a hand casually.

"There’s no need to say it. I’m here to help both you and her—" he said warmly before picking up his coffee again and enjoying it with a content smile.

His eyes occasionally flick to Zachary, trying to guess what he is thinking.

At this moment, his best friend looks absolutely strange. He had never seen Zachary personally bring a woman to the hospital before. That fact alone had already shocked him enough earlier.

And when he finally remembered something from the past, he understood why his best friend had acted that way.

"Zach..." His voice turned unexpectedly sharp.

Zachary looked up. "What is it?"

"Did you know her?"

A faint frown quickly formed on Zachary’s forehead as he looked confused, hearing his question. Instead of responding, he asked, "What do you mean?"

"Sienna Adams."

"Why are you asking? Of course, I know her...I brought her here myself."

Scott shook his head quickly.

"No, no. That’s not what I mean." He leaned in slightly and whispered, "What I’m trying to say is... Do you know, she’s the one?"

"Hm. I know."

A shock flashed across Scott’s exhausted face. "So you really know her...!?"

Zachary’s expression remained unreadable as he gave a simple nod.

Scott stared at him for a few seconds, as if trying to recall something. Then another question followed immediately. "Does she know your identity?"

"Not yet," Zachary replied.

Scott released a quiet chuckle and shook his head lightly. "Man, what I asked you about was not your identity as the crown prince of the Sterling family." He pointed a finger toward him. "I mean, who you are in relation to surrogacy. Does she know about that?"

The atmosphere shifted almost instantly.

Zachary’s expression slowly turned tense. His relaxed posture stiffened slightly as his eyes settled on Scott. For a few seconds, he said nothing.

Then—

"So you remember her?" Zachary asked instead of answering Scott’s question.

"Of course, I remember her. Did you forget? I’m the one who prepared those legal papers for you and handled all the medical aspects." He answered with a proud smile as he crossed his arms over his chest, looking unnecessarily satisfied with himself.

Scott added dramatically, "The instant I saw her face, I knew it was her. Damn, man! If only you’d met her properly back then, you might have fallen for her right away... And there’s no need for such extreme measures..."

"She doesn’t know yet," Zachary answered calmly. He let out a long, slow breath. A small smile briefly touched the corner of his lips before disappearing almost immediately.

Scott squinted as he observed Zachary’s subtle smile. He sat up straighter, curiosity practically glowing from his exhausted face. "Zach, are you planning to tell her about Sky!?"

This time, Zachary didn’t answer immediately.

The room grew quieter around them.

Outside the large glass wall, dawn was beginning to stretch across the city skyline. The dark night sky was slowly changing color as pale light touched the clouds gathering on the horizon.

Zachary looked toward it silently. From the outside, he appeared calm. But inside his mind, thoughts were moving one after another without pause.

He had lost count of how many times he had almost told Sienna the truth. Too many moments and opportunities. Every single time, part of him wanted to say it plainly and get it over with.

And every single time, another part of him stopped him. Not now. He needs preparation. This truth was not something he could throw casually into a conversation over breakfast.

After several quiet seconds, he finally looked back at Scott.

"I will tell her," he said calmly. "When she’s ready. So, don’t expect it to be anytime soon."

Scott frowned immediately.

"Why...?" Scott asked. His confusion was genuine. "Man, are you worried about something else, like your feelings about her?"

Zachary remained silent.

Scott paused. Then a slow, meaningful smile spread across his face as he stared at Zachary.

"...Zach." His grin widened shamelessly. "Even though you didn’t say a word, I already know your answer."

Zachary looked unimpressed.

Scott ignored that look completely.

"Man, you like her, right?" he said cheerfully. "If you like her, you should tell her because if you don’t—" His words trailed off suddenly when Zachary raised a hand, signaling him to stop.

"Thank you for your concern, Scott, but I know what to do. There’s no need to advise me on my personal matter," Zachary said calmly.

"Good if you know," Scott said, smiling as he looked at his best friend’s slightly red face.
