Spirit Taming

The confident walk toward the serrated serpent made everyone wonder if Ralph was crazy. However, when the Molten boar left the taming space and charged right at it, they all worried that it was just plain idiocy driving Ralph and his beast. None of them realized the situation that was happening until it was too late.

The serrated serpent had seen the molten boar charging and just watched it. Even its tanner with the two shields lowered them and wondered how he was going to have to handle such a fool. His beast was too tough to lose to a simple charge like that. It was why he stuck with shields. He just had to defend himself while his beast was trusted to battle.

When the molden boar hit the serrated serpent, there was a moment of laughter since it had actually charged in to the metallic body that the serpent had grown over time. That was until the serrated serpent reared up and flailed to get away from the molten boar.

The large bite wound on the side of the serrated serpent made many of those watching gasp. But even more so when they realized that the molten boar was eating the metallic body of the serrated serpent. Ralph was smiling and laughing though. He was glad to see that his boar was eating well. The metallic body of the serrated serpent was a great source of nutrition for his boar.

"Hey! Don’t look at your beast like that. You should focus on me!" Ralph charged the tamer and landed a heavy punch on the surprised tamer. The shield was knocked aside as Ralph struck out again.

The serrated serpent was in pain and was retreating for the first time in its life. It had never been faced with an opponent that could defeat it like this. It had never been fearful for its life. The molten boar was just heating up. Toxic smoke was escaping its body as it digested its first bite. This scared the serrated serpent even more. Its viciousness had faded away.

"Come on! Are you afraid like your little beast?" Ralph rained down punch after punch at the tamer completely pushing him back. Only half of the punches were blocked by panicked shields. The battle was going the exact opposite it had ever gone. The firm strength this tamer and beast had always known crumbled as Ralph’s punches and the molten boars’ advance pushed the two right out of the arena.

Waltzing back with his head held high, Ralph looked at Maria, "I set the stage for you. Good luck." Ralph’s mood was very high. He wanted to show off a little since he had been so focused on helping his molten boar purify ores for the last day. He even focused on forging knowledge too so that he would be able to become a real blacksmith soon. There had been a lot of pent up battle energy.

Many were cheering for the odd way that Ralph had just won in seconds. But it was to be expected. The molten boar was a unique mutated beast that shouldn’t be able to exist normally. Yet, it did because of Clark’s intervention. Now it was able to take the role as predator to metal type beasts that would normally lack a predator.

"Here I go." Maria walked up on to the arena with an additional pep in her step. She had been internally preparing herself for the battles that would come. She had to win over and over again so that the white robe healing society gave them the location of the poison sting jellyfish dungeon. That would be a major boost for Lit to become a queen jellyfish. The materials in that dungeon would also be poison and healing related. A great boost for any business that Isa had planned. materials as well for their business. Clark didn’t mind if Isa sold more healing type beasts.

In the crowd of onlookers, a small group of white robes healers shouted out at Maria. They had heard how arrogant the first years were but they also wanted to see if it was true. Is there really a tamer that can heal and fight without issues? Or was this just another healer dreaming? It was too common for a healer to be a healer and that was all.

’Brown coyote- uncommon

The brown coyote is a tough beast due to their earth affinity. They have hair that is often covered in dust to help them deflect blades or claws.

Most of the time, the brown coyote will live in packs or with a single partner. They have great teamwork even though they are known to often be Ill. Normally this is because they are scavengers and eat rotting meats. This leads them to have bacteria in their bite along with becoming sick themselves.

They have a slight chance to become an earthen hound but that is slim due to their tendencies and lower bloodline.’

Maria saw the coyote and tamer standing in tandem waiting for her. The tamer’s sword glinted in the sun while the coyote howled. It was clear that the pair had solid teamwork due to their movements. If one moved, the other subconsciously adjusted their body.

"Lit, Clark said no holding back and no hiding. Wrap me up." The royal cloak form shocked everyone. When had a glow sting jellyfish ever been so large and able to take the form of a cloak? The white robes healing society members were already on the edges of their seats. They know what a glow sting jellyfish was, and they knew for sure that Lit was one. But they had no idea how it had grown to be this amazing already.

The well known healing type beast that had appeared made Maria’s opponent more confident in victory until he saw her daggers. The sudden dash forward also threw him off.

Luckily for him, the brown coyote acted fast and jumped to defend him. However, Maria totally ignored it and slid underneath. The brown coyotes jump to block Maria had put it too far from her tamer. Now Maria was moving around and behind her opponent while aiming her dagger at his throat.

The stunning speed and power behind Maria’s movements were too much. Many in the audience didn’t understand how she had such agility while still appearing to be a weaker and fragile healer.

"Please forfeit. I do not wish to kill anyone today." Maria was holding her daggers at her opponent’s neck. He hadn’t even had a chance.

"I give!"

The single words her opponent had said silenced many who saw what had happened. The loser walked off the stage completely stunned, however, a girl wielding a dagger of her own jumped up with a determined expression.

"You’re fast but I’m just as good with a dagger." The girl glanced at her fellow student and shook her head. She was not about to lose in the same way. With a wave of her hand, a rocky energy left her taming space, and a large spider the size of three adult cows showed itself.

’Mountain tarantula- rare

The mountain tarantula isn’t just named because it lives in the mountain. The oldest known tarantula of this species lived for a hundred years and was fed countless rare earth materials to grow it in to a small mountain.

Their legs are sharp and covered in hair made from stone. They have a tough shield around themselves made of stone as well to protect their vitals. Impeccable eyesight helps the mountain tarantula track and kill prey.

They may not be able to grow in to an alternate form but they have a great potential to grow larger and tougher over time. Their greatest weakness is that they fear pain making them weaker to predators with piercing skills.’

Clark saw that this would be a tougher opponent for anyone. However, he saw that Maria had already locked in on a single place. The gaps in the stone should around the tarantula’s body were too clear for her. She had been training herself to be more observant, this was child’s play now.

As the referee shouted to begin, Maria dashed forward again. Her movements were flowing and made her appear to float as she jumped over the mountain tarantula’s frost attack with its pointed leg. Those witnessing it felt as if they were watching a glow sting jellyfish move in human form.

The second attack from the mountain tarantula slashed at Maria and missed as well. Yet, this time it caused many rocks to be kicked up around them. They cut and slashed at Maria’s bare skin making small bloody streaks appear. It was enough to make everyone gasp since some of the stones had cut significantly deep. It would take real healing to stop them from bleeding and leaving permanent scars.

"I did warn you. I am better." Maria’s opponent was very confident as she attacked with her single dagger at Maria’s back. Unfortunately, some people were foolish. Some people were living in a dream where they would conquer all around them. Or at least that was what Maria was thinking when she made her opponent eat her words.
