Spirit Taming

The moment that the boy and his bully crab realized that the bully crab’s shell was cracked, they felt a massive threat. It was as if Brad had become a demon in their eyes. The blood red aura that radiated around Brad coming from his possessed helm made it all the worse.

This attracted a lot of eyes from the audience. Not many had seen a possessed helm release such a bloodthirsty energy. However, Clark knew it was from the taming space. The metal and blood that would mix within Brad’s taming space made it unique. Yet. he too didn’t expect that there would be such a dramatic bonus.

The energy that escaped seemed to be a new skill that the possessed helm had gained after being connected and resting to the new taming space. Brad was greatly affected and appeared to gain a massive boost in strength. The shield that had still carried too much weight appeared to be held as if it was a feather now. The black iron sword was much the same.

The instant that the bully crab felt the threat, it and its tamer charged. They had an instant fight or flight reaction. They were here to win, not lose. The field had been set up for them and their fellow powerful students. This strategy was the best, they had to win!

The bully crab raised both claws and smashed down at Brad while its tamer took to the side with a heavy right hook. It was a pincer attack to completely break Brad before he could attack. However, to Brad, this was child’s play now. He was fired up and ready to battle it out to the end. Who could stop him?

"Brad is pretty focused now. I think he might be a battle maniac." Clark saw that Brad could be starting an addiction. The energy that his possessed helm was sharing with him was stimulating the hyper focused quirk he had. On top of that, the hyper focus was battle. A terrifying thought. A terrifying growth potential for Brad’s battle tactics and instincts.

The black iron shield arced out and smashed away the two claws from the bully crab. They showed stress and small cracks appeared on them. Equally, the black iron sword slashed out at the same time toward the tamer. The gauntlets that had been used to punch out were retracted to defend. Not that it helped.

The gauntlets were easily shattered and bloodied hands were left behind as the tamer felt his defenses break. The boy was thrown far to the side as Brad pushed forward toward the Bully crab. It had no means of defense now that its shell was cracked in so many places. But the tamer had not called for surrender so Brad did not cease his attacks.

The black iron sword came down on the top of the bully crabs’ shell as Brad leaped in to the air. He was using his full force to smash away this prey. When the black iron sword made contact with the shell, the bully crab was already at its end. The shell had shattered and fallen away revealing the weak crab underneath.

"I give! I give!" the tamer shouted in pain while trying to stand up. He saw that his beast was on its last breaths and gave up. He couldn’t fight any longer.

"That’s it? Bring the next one!" Brad was still caught in a battle fury and shouted for the next opponent. It made the crowd go wild. They loved seeing the battle spirit. The scene of a heavy sword and shield slapping away a tough beast was etched in their minds.

While the boy and his beast were taken away by healers, the last three members of the celestial sea team were caught in a vicious argument. Their strategy had failed so far. They had sacrificed to set the stage and now they were faced with some battle crazed monster. They could barely call him a first year.

"They are going to send out someone tougher for Brad to face. He might lose or have to surrender this time." Maria had a bad feeling while watching a slim girl take the stage. Her eyes were full of hatred while her face was calm. She held a long shell in her hands that came down to a point.

’Lance snail- uncommon

The lance snail is a beast known to latch on to the arms and legs of their symbiotic host. They can assist in purifying toxins from the blood while being used as a lance like a weapon by their host. Their tough shell can be reinforced by their rock type energy. Their water type energy allows them to better purify their host.

They are rarely known to bond with humans, however, when they do that human will often be able to tolerate much more dangerous water based environments. Especially if they are lucky enough to be born with a lance snail spirit beast. This is recorded in the history of the celestial sea academy.’ 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Clark was impressed by the analysis. He didn’t expect the system to directly reference the academy. This just proved that the system was giving him smarter and smarter information. It was not some one sided system that just spit out answers. It gave Clark the best information needed.

The slim girl hadn’t stopped her walk, as she did, a larger taming space portal opened up causing seafoam to pour out. The blue ribbed beast that appeared had a long snout and a curled tail. It seemed to be the one creating the seafoam while also using it to travel. The frozen seawater was easily melted by it as it increased the seafoam even more.

’Seafoam horse- rare

The seafoam horse uses its pure water typing to create foam within the salt water to ride. It can travel even on land if it has enough salt water to control and make foam out of. It is thought of as a very agile and speedy beast. Many of those that tame them do so to have a steed in the saltwater flats of the islands on coasts.

There is a small chance of growth for the seafoam horse to become a tidal wave horse. This is due to them needing pourer and purer water elemental energies. It can take them fifty years to even gather half the amount needed to grow. However, they can constantly grow in size and speed to match their tamer, which makes them a lifelong beast.’

"Brad is going to be at a disadvantage due to speed here. This is how he might lose." Clark was carefully watching the start of the match. The seafoam horse didn’t hesitate to lower itself so that the girl could jump on its back. She had an aura of confidence around her. She had broken tougher opponents before.

In a slurry of seafoam, the seafoam horse charged forward. The lance snail was aimed right at Brad’s chest. He narrowly moved to block it causing a large clang and vibration to plague his body. The lance snail was unharmed but Brad had felt the piercing power behind the girl’s attack. She seemed slim and weak but that was all an illusion. The speed the seafoam horse had made her attacks powerful as well.

This was not the only attack either, using the seafoam, the seafoam horse charged again and again making the clanging of Brad’s shield ring through the entire large arena. Everyone could hear it as if it was abell signaling the battle’s intensity.

No matter how Brad tried to counter, the seafoam horse would always turn and dodge the black iron sword. It only went to make Brad more angry, that was until he felt that he had the perfect way to counter it. Call it a spur of the moment risk or call it a grand idea, Brad smiled like a wild beast about to catch its prey.

"Why is he grinning like that?" Grace and Reese seemed perfectly in sync as they asked why Brad appeared to be happier than a kind in a candy store.

"He’s about to win. That’s why. I think Brad is going to be a good friend." Ralph had the same feelings in battle as Brad was experiencing. It was a great moment. He was about to advance. Ralph could feel it in his bones. This was a great moment.

The seafoam horse charged again. This time, the girl was going in for the kill. She aimed the lance snail right at Brad’s face. However, Brad dropped his black iron shield to the ground and used both hands to brace behind the black iron sword. Instead of blocking again, he let the lance snail slide past his face leaving a decent cut.

The black iron sword that had been propped up became the blocker, the blocker that the seafoam horse had just impaled itself on. There was a deadly silence as everyone watching saw the blood dripping from Brad’s smiling face. They all saw the seafoam horse falling to the side. But even more terrifying, they saw that the girl was grimacing in pain, she had just let her beast charge right to its death!
