Ye Father and Ye Mother’s gaze shifted from the middle-aged couple at the door—whose extraordinary identity was evident from their attire and the air about them—back to their own daughter, their eyes brimming with questions.

She felt pity for a long time because of that. As time went on, she started giving him clothes. At first, worried about hurting his pride, she always found excuses to give them to him. Until, eventually, as their romantic relationship escalated and they began living together, she took care of all his clothes.

She was willing to spend money on him, buying clothes—mainly brand names on clearance at the change of seasons—even more expensive than what she wore daily.

She started to be stingy with herself, hesitating for a long time before buying any expensive clothes she liked, and even after biting the bullet and making the purchase, she would regret it for a long time. But if she found something suitable for him to wear, no matter how expensive, she would buy it without hesitation, feeling no regret afterward. Instead, she felt a satisfying excitement seeing him look so fit and handsome in them.

Hearing Xia Na speak in such a friendly and down-to-earth manner, expressing thoughts that were genuinely heartwarming, the weight on Ye Mother’s mind seemed to lift off the ground.
