He silently stared at her for a while, his throat moving slightly.

"When did we get engaged? You clearly know that was just to fool Duan Muhong," Lu Yun said, looking at him with accusation in her eyes. This bastard, even considering his own "niece" fair game. She had really misjudged him all these years.

"I am a man," Shitou said with utmost seriousness and earnestness, looking into Lu Yun’s eyes.

Finding the idea amusing, Lu Yun couldn’t help wanting to laugh, but seeing Shitou’s solemn face, she stifled her laughter.

How could he rest easy, thinking this foolish girl might fall into the arms of another man? Just the thought of another man holding her, kissing her like he just did, or even doing something more outrageous, made him uncontrollably possessive.

"Are you only marrying me because of... that?"

"Of course, it’s true. Heartless girl, how could you think such a thing before?" Feeling that Lu Yun had returned to normal, Shitou sighed with relief, having been truly scared by her a moment ago.
