"I received Fearow. As for Milotic, please wait a moment."

"Ash, I’ve transferred them to you. Take a look."

"Professor Oak, I received them."

Ash held up the two miniaturized Luxury Balls in his hand.

Before Ash could reply, Kirlia reacted first.

Professor Oak wasn’t angry and greeted them with a smile: "Kirlia, you’re as cute as ever, and Pikachu looks well too! It seems you’ve all gotten used to the joys of traveling."

"Pika."

Pikachu responded indifferently.

"Professor, regarding your request, as long as Fearow doesn’t mind, I don’t mind either."

Fearow is a common Pokemon, not a rare one like Kirlia, which is uncommon in the Kanto region. Professor Oak must have already researched it.

Ash could almost certainly conclude that Professor Oak was interested in the Shinny aspect as a research point, so he wouldn’t use all means like he did when researching Ralts. At most, it would just be a routine physical examination and a test of its overall qualities.
