I'm Trapped in the Block

The Sheep-headed Man wasn’t hostile toward creatures with normal cells.

Mo Ling had overlooked this fact because his previous battles with the Sheep-headed Man had been too intense.

From killing Broken Tree Sheep in the quarantine zone, to slaughtering members of the Transparent Race in the Underworld, and even kidnapping that "traitor"—from the very beginning, the Sheep-headed Man had exclusively targeted creatures with Theseus Cells.

It was consistently following the ugly duckling phenomenon. Moreover, it had slowly learned to restrain itself and had stopped its large-scale massacres.

It had been growing.

It only activated its defenses when its freedom of movement was threatened.

The two times it killed the squad’s soldiers were because it had been cornered by humans.

Mo Ling found this all very strange.

’Could it be that we were the problem?’

Mo Ling quickly updated Li Luo and shared his hypothesis with everyone else.

When Captain Su heard this, he was stunned into silence.

After a moment of thought, he said with a sense of helplessness, "So if we hadn’t provoked it in the first place, all those people wouldn’t have died?"

They had chased this Sheep-headed Man from the quarantine zone all the way to the Transparent Race’s village, beaten it from a small lamb into what it was now, and in the process, trained it to be this powerful.

Captain Su sighed. "For now, let’s just say our brothers sacrificed themselves for valuable data on Abyssal Creatures. We won’t provoke this Sheep-headed Man for the time being."

A soldier beside him asked, confused, "Captain, we’re not getting revenge?"

"Now’s not the time for revenge. We can’t kill it, and it’s not a threat to us. Once the Red Rope Worm inside it finishes its task, it will die on its own."

The soldier was still unwilling to let it go.

Seeing that his soldiers were all frustrated, Captain Su reassured them:

"Don’t forget our mission. We came down here to eliminate the threat it poses and ensure it doesn’t harm humanity."

"Our investigation has now revealed that this Sheep-headed Man has no hostility toward creatures with normal cells and only slaughters those with Theseus Cells. Isn’t that exactly what we hoped for?"

"Whatever it does next has nothing to do with us. Our objective has long been achieved. Continuing to engage with it will only lead to more needless sacrifices."

Having spent a long time in the Abyss, the soldiers were no longer greenhorns. They all nodded in understanding.

However, inside the Temple, there was still one group of people unwilling to let the Sheep-headed Man leave.

The Transparent Race People.

Their leader had brought his men to block the Temple’s exit.

He confronted the Sheep-headed Man, heartbroken and furious. "Kinsman, why would you harm your own people?"

The Sheep-headed Man stopped, tilting its head as if it didn’t understand what the leader was saying. After a brief glance, it tried to continue forward.

But it had barely taken a step when a group of Transparent Race People rushed forward with weapons, pressing their spears against its body.

Seeing this, the human squad silently backed away.

The Transparent Race elder wanted to rush forward and warn them, but it was too late.

A buzzing slash cut through the air, and the group of Transparent Race People in front of the Sheep-headed Man were instantly decapitated.

Seeing the Sheep-headed Man still acting as it pleased, the leader’s body trembled with rage.

"Bring out Prophet Baixiang. All of the Flesh Race here will be his food," the leader said, turning to his people, his anger at its peak.

Following his words, the mysterious runes on his body began to glow faintly, and his clothes fluttered as if in a nonexistent wind. The bodies of the Transparent Race People beside him also started to shine.

Seeing this, the elder shouted anxiously, "But he is our benefactor! He saved us! Chief, you can’t do this!"

But the leader only responded with a single cold sentence: "That which is undying shall eventually perish."

As he spoke, the Temple began to tremble. The ground beneath the spine-like structure started to crack, and a thick arm burst through the floor tiles and reached out.

’What is that?’

Just as Mo Ling was about to fly back and lower his viewpoint, the thing from underground had already leaped out.

It was a muscular giant, its body covered in a flowing, transparent slime. It glared at the crowd with a ferocious expression.

Its silver-white hair reached the ground, sticking to its body and constantly dissolving into slime, while more liquid hair continuously overflowed from the top of its head.

The slime seemed to be in constant motion, flowing down to the ground and then back up the giant’s body in a cycle.

"What a disgusting smell," the Flesh Race People said, waving the air in front of their faces with expressions of revulsion.

When the elder saw the giant, he quickly shouted to the human squad, "Run! That’s Prophet Baixiang! You’re no match for it!"

’What in the world is Prophet Baixiang?’

Although no one knew what it was, the giant looked incredibly dangerous. They quickly retreated to the edge of the Temple, trying to escape through the exit.

Seeing that some were trying to flee, one of the giant’s hairs suddenly shot up. It twisted and expanded rapidly in mid-air, transforming directly into the head of a bird-like beast.

The beast flew into the air, its body growing continuously. By the time it was halfway across the chamber, it had already formed a complete avian body.

The bird’s body was incredibly bloated; compared to its head, it looked like a gigantic, feathered fruit.

Once the beast was airborne, its bloated body burst open, sending countless feathers shooting out in all directions.

Seeing this, Mo Ling hurriedly shielded the others.

But the feathers seemed to have no offensive purpose. Instead, they deftly swerved around the Block, flying to the Temple’s various exits and inner walls, where they converged to form a solid wall of feathers.

The elder cried out in despair, "It’s a Cloud Nest Bird! We can’t escape!"

A soldier went up to the feather wall and slashed at it, but his sharp blade couldn’t even leave a scratch.

Mo Ling quickly tried to teleport a section of the feather wall, but as soon as a hole appeared, the surrounding feathers instantly filled the gap, behaving like a bank of clouds.

Feathers continued to drift about, covering the entire Temple with a new white inner wall and sealing everyone inside.

The Flesh Race People were also trapped inside the Temple. They glared at the leader and snapped, "What are you trying to do?"

The leader replied calmly, "Purifying the undying."

His previous conciliatory demeanor was completely gone. He looked coldly at the Flesh Race People. "Since you’ve come all the way to our village, you might as well stay."

The furious Flesh Race People drew their weapons and charged toward the giant in the center of the Temple.

The giant shot out another strand of hair, which stabbed into the ground in front of it and then began to expand.

A familiar figure appeared before them.

A crimson body, menacing horns, powerful wings—it was one of the Flesh Race People.

’The traitor?’

The moment the traitor’s clone appeared, it charged toward the Flesh Race People. In an instant, a brawl broke out between several identical, powerful demons.

The leader watched all of this with satisfaction.

He then turned to the Sheep-headed Man, his eyes filled with fury.

"The pawn I worked so hard to put in place was exposed by you. You desecrated the Divine Hall and slaughtered my people. What exactly are you trying to do?"

The Sheep-headed Man paid the leader no mind, standing its ground and staring intently at the giant.

’So it really was a traitor. The Flesh Race People really know their old enemy well.’

Mo Ling realized he had still underestimated these Underworld races that had been fighting for so many years.

That Prophet Baixiang was probably the Transparent Race’s trump card, something that it seemed even their sworn enemies, the Flesh Race People, didn’t know much about.

Looking at the disheveled giant in the middle of the Temple, Mo Ling felt a wave of inexplicable fear rise in his heart.

’He had a feeling this giant’s abilities didn’t end here.’
