I'm Trapped in the Block

The Seal Person struck by the white eel began to shrink before their very eyes.

His once-fierce seal head quickly became cute.

The clothes on his body grew baggy, swallowing him whole.

Once the transformation stopped, the Seal Person crawled out of his clothes. He now looked like a six or seven-year-old child, and the seal head on his shoulders appeared just as young.

Furthermore, he stared blankly at his surroundings, dazed, confused, and completely unaware of what had just happened.

However, the white eel wasn’t finished. After a sharp turn, it charged toward the Seal Person again.

A companion nearby reacted instantly, rolling over to snatch the still-dazed Seal Person out of harm’s way, causing the white eel to hit nothing but air.

But the eel’s speed was far too great. It rounded on them and gave chase, about to slam into the companion’s back.

However, because it had attacked the Seal Person, this white eel had already turned transparent. The commotion it caused also made it a target for everyone.

Just as it was about to catch the pair, it was struck by a flying Immortal Wood Ball and trapped inside.

The companion holding the Seal Person ran a good distance away without looking back.

Only after confirming the white eel behind them was captured did he, shaken with lingering fear, set the now-young Seal Person down.

The companion gave the little Seal Person a worried look and took several Immortal Wood Balls from his pocket.

"Here, play with these. Don’t run off."

The little Seal Person dazedly took the balls, squatted on the ground, and began to play with them, very obediently.

With a sigh, the companion returned to the hunting party.

Watching this scene unfold, Mo Ling felt a wave of secondhand fear.

"Be careful! Your own safety comes first!" After this ordeal, the Fake Fishmen became even more cautious.

But the more cautious they were, the slower the hunt became.

As the number of white eels increased, the rate of tossing bait couldn’t keep up. Although most of them swarmed the bait boxes, more and more slipped through and started charging the crowd.

Freeing up hands to deal with the ones that got away only slowed down the baiting even more.

A vicious cycle...

Only after a white eel attacked and changed its form could it be caught.

Mo Ling understood in an instant. The bait wasn’t just the rotten food thrown into the air—the Hunters themselves were also bait.

This was destined to be a hunt that demanded sacrifice.

The Fake Fishmen had known this all along.

’No wonder they were so concerned with the Great Clan Leader’s opinion earlier. Assigning someone to this task was tantamount to accepting this "sacrifice."’

Having understood all this, Mo Ling decided to lend a hand.

Mo Ling maneuvered the Block to hover above the crowd, aimed at the white eels that were trying to attack people, and activated the teleportation.

Most of these eels hadn’t managed to grab any bait. Covered in fossils, they were like sharks that had scented blood—exceptionally ferocious.

Just as one white eel was about to ram into a Fake Fishman, Mo Ling brought it inside.

The Fake Fishman instinctively raised his arm to block, only to find that the white eel charging him had vanished.

He looked around in astonishment until he saw the Block in the sky...

Mo Ling knelt by his bed, poking the gelatinous corpse sprawled on the floor with a branch.

The moment the white eel entered the Block, it instantly changed form, turning transparent and dying on the metal floor.

’It feels like jelly. Soft and squishy.’

The branch in Mo Ling’s hand poked a dent into the gelatinous skin. After he lifted the branch, the dent quickly smoothed out.

’I wonder if the dead body still has that strange ability.’

Mo Ling didn’t dare touch it with his hand. He only tested it with the branch, but the branch showed no change.

’Can’t figure it out.’

The battle outside was raging, so Mo Ling had no time to study the creature’s properties. He tossed the corpse out and went back to watching for the next one...

And so, all the Fake Fishmen on the scene noticed a strange phenomenon:

Whenever a white eel charged at them, it would disappear, and shortly after, a transparent corpse would fall from the sky.

Some Fake Fishmen even tried tossing Immortal Wood Balls at these corpses and found that the balls could absorb them. Thus, a portion of them quickly started "corpse collecting."

Mo Ling extended his vision to cover each Fake Fishman’s position and focused on protecting them.

After watching for a moment, Li Luo also snapped out of it and started to help toss bait.

As she was throwing, a thought suddenly occurred to her, and she looked down at her wrist.

A purple cord bracelet rested quietly there.

She grabbed the end of the cord and pulled hard. The thread instantly shot out, weaving itself into layers of overlapping purple gauze as it flew into the air.

However, as soon as the purple gauze appeared, it rushed toward the Block in the sky.

As it flew, it expanded, pulling its threads taut, menacingly attempting to envelop the Block.

’Not again?’

Inside the Block, Mo Ling was startled once again.

’Why is it attacking me again?’ Mo Ling was exasperated.

Fortunately, Li Luo quickly called it back. "Xiaozhi, come back!"

Hearing Li Luo’s call, the purple gauze screeched to a halt, made a sharp turn, and flew back...

After repeated commands from Li Luo, the purple gauze finally understood its duty. It began to use itself as a net to scoop up bait and scatter it from the sky.

This method of baiting was far more efficient than before.

Soon, the white eels’ attention was completely fixed on the bait raining down from the sky. The pressure on the Fake Fishmen eased considerably.

They could finally toss out their Immortal Wood Balls without worry.

Once they caught up, the ground was soon littered with balls that had trapped the white eels. Mo Ling and Li Luo’s help had clearly made a huge difference.

But by now, the number of white eels was also swelling. They poured endlessly over the edge of the platform, packed together like a white waterfall flowing in reverse.

However, the capture rate had now caught up, and they were handling it with ease. Mo Ling even went back to studying the transparent white eel corpses inside his Block.

He also secretly collected a few Immortal Wood Balls that had missed the eels and fallen to the ground.

These balls still worked inside the Block, sucking the transparent eel corpses into them.

Holding a ball, Mo Ling could also feel that strange suction, like holding a magnet.

But after fiddling with it for a long time, Mo Ling still couldn’t understand the principle behind the ball.

The wooden ball was just too simple, utterly unremarkable. Perhaps aside from its material, there was nothing special about it.

Just as Mo Ling was puzzling over it, the Fake Fishmen outside began to wrap things up.

"That’s about enough! We’re almost out of cages."

"What about everyone else?"

"All out!"

"Down to our last few, almost gone..."

The crowd looked to Jeff. He quickly scanned the ground. After confirming the number of balls met their quota, he raised his hand, signaling for everyone to stop.

"That’s enough!"
