I'm Trapped in the Block

The two Little Elves were back to staring blankly at each other.

Except now, the Purple one held its arm in the air, shaping it like an Olive.

The golden one’s eyes widened as it stared at the gesture. Light swirled within its eyes, and it looked like a frozen statue.

The golden Little Elf suddenly lost its previous playful demeanor. It grew very quiet, its expression pensive.

Seeing the other’s reaction, the Purple Little Elf knew its gesture was working. It quickly raised its hand in front of the golden Little Elf, its gaze filled with anticipation.

’Is it making a wish?’

’Could such a powerful creature have something it can’t obtain?’

Mo Ling was baffled. What on earth did the Purple, gossamer creature want? Could it be that only this golden light could grant its wish?

Just as he was thinking this, the golden Little Elf before him reacted.

Its expression began to shift between dazed and serious, as if the gesture had triggered some internal mechanism. It was like two personalities were warring within its body.

One personality seemed to want to ignore the gesture and continue flitting about playfully. The other was forcing it to stay and confront the situation.

Amid this conflict, the golden Little Elf’s body began to tremble. As it shook, the golden light emanating from it grew ever stronger.

A dazzling golden light suddenly erupted, shooting into the adjacent current. A blurry, golden phantom image began to appear on the surface of the light-infused water.

Just like the phantom images of wishes he had seen before, the desire of the Purple, gossamer creature was projected onto the golden current.

However, perhaps due to the golden Little Elf’s condition, the image of the wish was exceptionally blurry and intermittent. The perspective often wobbled and shifted elsewhere, making it all very bizarre.

Although the image was blurry, both Little Elves found themselves irresistibly drawn to the reflected vision.

The scene was very simple.

It showed only a single human Young Lady.

A human Young Lady whose figure was indistinct, walking ceaselessly.

She was walking through an endless Purple void.

There was no sky, no ground, nothing at all. The Young Lady just walked slowly through the void.

The scene was bizarre. There was no path and nothing to provide friction, yet she kept walking, as if it were the only action she could take.

Strangest of all, the image in the golden current was constantly spinning and tumbling, as if a camera was flying erratically all around, trying to follow the Young Lady.

This scene continued for a long time before the Young Lady finally did something different.

She looked in a certain direction within the Purple void, then reached out and grabbed, as if seizing a rope. She was instantly pulled away.

And so, the Young Lady dodged and weaved through the Purple void, pulled along by one rope after another until she reached an exit glowing with a blinding Purple light.

When she came to her senses, she was standing in a forest filled with Purple trees.

It was as if a Purple filter covered everything around her, but the Young Lady didn’t seem to find it strange. She simply continued walking through the forest.

Despite her bizarre behavior, she dazedly returned to a nearby monitoring station. A nameplate with an indecipherable pattern had appeared on her out of thin air.

It was the nameplate of a Hunter.

She accepted missions and joined other Hunter teams. Throughout this process, the Young Lady was never suspected by other humans, and she gradually became more and more like a normal person.

The Young Lady began to learn to speak, to converse normally with others. Her behavior became more natural.

The scene shifted, and she was now climbing the Flipping Mountain Range all by herself...

Just then, the bizarre vision came to an abrupt end.

After watching the vision, Mo Ling’s mind was filled with questions. ’What does it all mean?’

’Why is the Purple, gossamer creature’s wish a person?’

’And why was the vision so blurry? Is it because the golden Little Elf isn’t proficient with its wish-granting ability yet?’

With this thought, Mo Ling turned his gaze back to the two Little Elves in the space.

The Purple Little Elf was delighted after seeing the vision. It didn’t forget to keep making the Olive-shaped gesture, its face full of anticipation.

The golden Little Elf, however, looked bewildered. It examined the golden light on its body, seeming not to understand why these strange things were extending from it.

"Can you grant my wish?" the Purple Little Elf asked, growing impatient.

"Can you grant my wish?" the golden Little Elf murmured, repeating the Purple Little Elf’s words.

"Can you grant my wish...?" Mumbling in a daze, the golden Little Elf could no longer control its body’s movements.

It circled the Purple Little Elf again and again, its face a mask of confusion, continuously repeating, "Wish, wish, wish..."

Its voice was filled with confusion and bewilderment.

Finally, it stopped circling. It froze in place, its eyes wide.

"Wish! I will help you realize it."

"But I will take your wish as the price."

As if it had a sudden realization, the golden Little Elf’s speech became crisp and clear, and its body stopped trembling.

Flying before the Purple Little Elf, it raised its hand and tapped the other’s forehead.

Calm, fluid words flowed from its mouth. "I will grant your wish!"

In that moment, it seemed to remember everything—its duty, its ability to grant wishes.

The Purple Little Elf was overjoyed. It readily brought its head to the golden Little Elf’s finger, allowing the golden light emanating from the fingertip to enter its body.

The rippling golden light flowed like water into the Purple Little Elf’s body.

The golden Little Elf was now focused and earnest. Its previous confusion was gone, replaced by an intense concentration as it controlled the golden light.

However, the process of granting the wish did not seem so simple. It kept its finger on the Purple Little Elf’s head for a long time, but nothing happened.

Mo Ling could only wait quietly, eager to see what would happen.

Compared to the golden Little Elf of the future, this one seemed far less restrained. Golden light flooded the aquatic space, and its method of granting wishes was different, too—simple and crude.

The process of helping the Purple, gossamer creature fulfill its wish was a long one, but as time passed, subtle changes began to appear.

The Purple Little Elf was slowly suffused with golden light. Purple, web-like gauze began to uncontrollably emerge from its body, only to be suppressed and dissipated by the golden light the moment it appeared.

The golden light formed a cage, bundling the scattered gauze and twisting it into the shape of a human female.

The Little Elf, wreathed in golden light, seemed to be flagging from the exertion of too much power.

After a moment, a clear and gentle voice spoke again:

"As you wished, I will turn you into a human..."
