I'm Trapped in the Block

Mo Ling looked at Li Luo.

She, too, was staring in utter shock at the reappeared Vibrating Beast.

The Vibrating Beast’s metallic limbs were growing harder and harder, and a spherical metal mesh had formed around its head, dampening the vibrations of its flesh.

This newly-appeared Vibrating Beast looked identical to the one they had seen when they first entered the valley, only different in size.

The sky-high Vibrating Beast advanced slowly toward its target.

Each step it took sent earthquake-like tremors through the ground.

Li Luo kept driving, following it, and they soon arrived at a location.

It was a wide-open clearing with a small, clear lake in the center.

A pure black, horse-shaped creature was nibbling on the green grass by the lakeside.

It was the Dream Qilin, now in the real world.

After Mo Ling had teleported and killed the Dream Qilin, it had turned completely black and appeared here.

Then, under the healing effects of the Red Rope Worm, it had come back to life.

Now, it was alive in the real world in this form.

’Success!’

The moment he saw the pure black Dream Qilin, Mo Ling breathed a sigh of relief.

’This way, the Red Rope Worm should be able to complete its task.’

Seeing such a massive Vibrating Beast, the Dream Qilin—which should have fled—didn’t run. Instead, it stood there stunned, raising its head.

Though Mo Ling couldn’t see the Dream Qilin’s eyes clearly, he knew it must be looking at the approaching Vibrating Beast.

The colossal Vibrating Beast’s steps had been huge, exceptionally urgent and frantic, but as it neared the Dream Qilin, it seemed to become somewhat cautious.

Even so, the vibrations from its enormous body still made the Dream Qilin sway.

The Vibrating Beast came before the Dream Qilin, and its massive body collapsed with a crash. The flesh from its head broke free of the metal mesh and came to rest beside the Dream Qilin.

That surging red tide was now reduced to so little.

Mo Ling couldn’t help but feel a sense of melancholy. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

The Flesh Slime came up beside the black Dream Qilin and slowly enveloped it.

The Dream Qilin didn’t try to avoid it, allowing the flesh to swallow it whole.

Li Luo drove closer, allowing Mo Ling to see what was happening inside the flesh.

The pulsating flesh enveloped the pure black skin, and the Dream Qilin began to tremble along with its movements.

At that moment, Mo Ling once again saw the black holes constantly slipping off its dark skin.

The black holes absorbed the vibrations, and the flesh’s pulsation gradually slowed, finally coming to a stop.

The Slime’s crimson color slowly faded. Its flesh disintegrated, turning into a faint liquid that seeped into the ground.

As the Flesh Slime melted away, the Dream Qilin’s figure reappeared.

It was now curled up on the ground, looking utterly exhausted.

’It should be over now.’

Mo Ling watched in a daze.

’Finally, the curtain can fall on all this. The Red Rope Worm has completed its task. Both sides should now dissipate.’

’And the Vibrating Beasts’ abnormal activity should come to an end.’

Mo Ling’s vision focused on the Dream Qilin curled up on the ground. The original Red Rope Worm had vanished.

’But why hasn’t the Dream Qilin died?’

Within the endless black, a flicker of color seemed to be pulsing.

Mo Ling quickly looked closer.

A tiny point of light slowly brightened. It was white at first, but it gradually diffused, turning colorful.

As it spread, it illuminated the surrounding blackness.

The faint colors gradually intensified and expanded, creating a band of light within the Dream Qilin’s body.

Like a meteor streaking through the night sky.

The darkness was illuminated.

The rich colors instantly burst through the Dream Qilin’s skin. The infinite hues once again transformed its appearance into that of a glitched texture.

The Dream Qilin slowly stood up and shook its head, its glow becoming even more dazzling.

Its movements grew more agile as it began to walk along the lakeside.

After a moment, its pace gradually quickened until it broke into a run.

Reaching the lake’s edge, the Dream Qilin leaped, tracing a fantastical, unparalleled rainbow across the center of the lake before vanishing.

The liquid that the Slime had become rained down from mid-air like a sprinkle of stars.

Mo Ling watched the scene, unable to forget it for a long time.

Only when the rainbow had faded did he come back to his senses.

’It’s alive?’

’The Dream Qilin didn’t die? It turned colorful again and went back to the dream world?’

’So this is the kind of creature the Dream Qilin is.’

’Perhaps its previous death and rebirth wasn’t because of the Red Rope Worm after all.’

’When a Dream Qilin dies in the dream world, it turns pure black and revives in the real world.’

’And when it dies in the real world, it turns colorful again and returns to the dream world.’

’How bizarre.’

Moreover, on the abdomen of the newly revived Dream Qilin, Mo Ling had also seen a patch of pure black flesh that was pulsating nonstop.

He was only able to see it clearly because of the Dream Qilin’s change in color.

’What was that?’

Mo Ling was completely baffled.

Regardless, it was finally over now.

Li Luo retracted the recording device and leaned back in her seat to rest.

’This experience must have been a huge shock for her, too.’

Suddenly, Li Luo turned her head and asked the Block, "Are all the Vibrating Beasts dead?"

Mo Ling instinctively wanted to answer, only to realize he wasn’t in the dream world.

He had no choice but to teleport a can out, making a random noise as a response to the Young Lady.

And yet, as if she understood what Mo Ling meant, Li Luo answered herself, muttering, "I don’t know either."

The valley was now deathly silent. Mo Ling guessed that the Vibrating Beasts might really all be dead.

But there were always uncertainties. After this incident, Mo Ling had developed a certain admiration for the unique creatures.

He didn’t want the Vibrating Beasts to go extinct just like that.

Li Luo opened the storage container in the back, took out a lot of food, and placed it on the metal Block.

"Thank you."

Li Luo looked at the Block and said earnestly, "Thank you for going into the dream to save me. You can understand me, can’t you?"

Mo Ling made another noise with a can.

Getting a response, Li Luo nodded happily and started eating.

Mo Ling knew that after the dream, Li Luo must have understood that the Block had a consciousness of its own.

But first, he had to solve the problem of his empty stomach.

One by one, the food items on the Block disappeared.

However, as the two were resting, a black hole materialized out of thin air next to the car.

Li Luo instantly grabbed her weapon and slashed at the black hole.

A black limb extended from the black hole and knocked her weapon away.

Then, the limb suddenly softened, turning into a black tentacle that reached into the storage container in the back of the car.

When the tentacle retracted, it was holding two cans of food.

Li Luo prepared to attack again, but the tentacle swiftly retracted back into the black hole and vanished.

Li Luo remained on high alert, scanning her surroundings, but the black hole didn’t reappear.

She quickly checked the storage container, her expression growing increasingly grim. She turned toward the Block and said:

"Two 500-gram glass jars of Korean kimchi are missing. The kimchi is gone, but the jars are still here."
