Synopsis
“You completed the Consort Rite,” the Demon Prince said softly, his voice calm—but his eyes were anything but. Dark, intense, and almost frighteningly devoted, he looked down at me like I belonged to him completely. “I’ve been waiting for you… for twenty years.”
I froze.
In my arms was a small, two-tailed spirit cat I had *definitely* not planned to steal… now happily purring like I was its owner.
Then I slowly looked up at him.
The feared Demon Prince of the empire. An exiled noble with cursed pink hair, a terrifying reputation, and rumors that he could kill without blinking.
Yeah… this was bad.
Because somehow, he thought I was his destined wife.
---
I didn’t come here for romance. I came here to save my dying sister.
To do that, I broke into the Northern Lord’s estate just to steal a bit of fur from his sacred spirit cat. Simple plan. In and out.
Except the cat chose me instead.
The ancient nekomata latched onto me like I was its new owner, accidentally triggering an old onmyodo ritual I didn’t even know existed… and binding me to its terrifying master in the worst way possible.
Now I’m stuck.
Everyone believes I’m the Consort of the Demon Prince.
And the worst part? He treats me like it’s the most sacred truth in the world—protective, intense, completely devoted in a way that makes my heart race when it absolutely shouldn’t.
But the deeper I stay in this lie, the more I realize something:
The real monsters in the imperial court aren’t outside the palace… they’re inside it.
And I’m right in the middle of them, pretending to be someone I’m not.
---
The only question left is—
what happens when the most dangerous man in the empire finds out our “marriage” started with a stolen cat?
