Apocalypse: My Items Can Upgrade Infinitely

Lin Feng was half-sprawled on the large bed, looking up to see an exquisitely beautiful face. Her cheeks were puffed in a pout, revealing a hint of playful anger that was utterly adorable.

Faced with Chen Yanyan’s slightly angry question, Lin Feng turned his head, lightly sniffed the calf pressed against his face, and revealed a slight smile:

"You’ve already showered, and you’re still pretending to be asleep?"

Chen Yanyan huffed softly:

"You still haven’t answered my question!"

Lin Feng reached out and lifted a bag at his feet. Inside were takeout containers filled with all sorts of delicacies.

"See? I went out of my way to bring you some incredibly rare seafood, and other things."

Chen Yanyan took the bag but placed it on the nearby nightstand and said:

"This isn’t enough. You need to show me with some real action."

As she spoke, she looked at the clothes Lin Feng was wearing:

"Who prepared this suit for you? It’s so tight, your muscles are bulging out."

Lin Feng shrugged:

"It was a last-minute thing. Had to make do."

Chen Yanyan stared suspiciously at the man lying between her thighs. She leaned down, sniffing his chest and neck, her brow finally creasing.

"Why do I smell two different perfumes? One is strong and bold, but the other is light and elegant, more subtle and refined."

"Don’t tell me Qin Hu set you up with a pair of sisters with completely different personalities to keep you company?"

Lin Feng burst out laughing. He hadn’t expected Chen Yanyan to be so perceptive, guessing something so close to the truth just from a hint of perfume.

’This must be a woman’s intuition, that sixth sense!’

"Relax, nothing happened. Look at this shirt and these pants. How could I possibly have gotten them off?"

"If something had really happened, I wouldn’t have rushed back through the night. Qin Hu and the others tried really hard to get me to stay. But then I remembered you hadn’t eaten dinner yet, so I left in a hurry."

Chen Yanyan pouted, pretending to be angry:

"Hmph, fine. It’s all my fault, then! I interfered with Uncle Lin’s fun."

Lin Feng gazed at Chen Yanyan’s pouting lips. He had never seen this proud yet coy side of her before. As the delicate skin of her long legs brushed against him, a fire ignited deep inside.

A full stomach leads to a wandering mind.

Suddenly, Lin Feng flipped over and scrambled up, startling the woman into a shriek. In the next moment, she was pinned beneath him.

Her two long, slender legs were still draped over Lin Feng’s shoulders, and the awkward position sent a deep blush across Chen Yanyan’s face.

Lin Feng slowly leaned down lower, looking at the woman in his embrace as he reached out to gently stroke her cheek.

"Well, now. Your possessive streak is getting stronger."

"So you won’t allow me to be with other women?"

Chen Yanyan swallowed hard. Looking at Lin Feng, who was now just inches away, she could feel his hot breath ghosting across her cheeks and chest.

Her mind went blank, her words tumbling out incoherently:

"I... I have to vet them for you! It’s... it’s the mission Sister-in-law gave me..."

The corners of Lin Feng’s mouth tilted up as he pressed down even lower.

"Sounds like plain old jealousy to me."

"If you keep this up, it will affect things going forward. You should know that you won’t be the only one by my side."

Feeling the man pressing closer, Chen Yanyan couldn’t take it anymore. As she abandoned her last shred of composure, her emotions flooded out like an open sluice gate, and her eyes instantly blurred with tears.

"But... but I... I only have you..."

"What if... what if one day, you don’t need me anymore..."

Hearing the woman confess her true feelings, a gentle look filled Lin Feng’s eyes, and he spoke softly:

"Didn’t I tell you? You have to be my driver for life. How could I go anywhere without taking you with me?"

"Even if you wanted to leave, you’d have to ask if I’d let you go!"

Chen Yanyan no longer hesitated. She tilted her head up and kissed him. After a long moment, she whispered in his ear:

At her words, Lin Feng threw back the blanket. As it turned out, Chen Yanyan had already changed into the lace lingerie he had picked out for her after her bath earlier that day.

The moonlight was hazy, the moment perfect.

They lost all reason.

The next morning, Lin Feng looked at the shredded suit lining on the bed. Remembering their impatience in the pre-dawn hours, he found it truly amusing.

The woman, lost in a sweet dream, snuggled like a young girl in the crook of his arm, her round, supple legs still draped across his body.

As Lin Feng stirred, he disturbed the sleeping woman. Chen Yanyan rubbed her eyes and mumbled something.

Lin Feng sat up and gave her a kiss, his face full of adoration.

"Get some rest. Sleep a little longer."

Watching the woman nod drowsily and drift back to sleep, a smile touched Lin Feng’s lips.

He hadn’t expected that what Chen Yanyan had once said was true—he was her first man. Perhaps it was her conservative, rural upbringing, or perhaps she felt she had met her soulmate. In any case, she had given him her best, holding nothing back.

So, it was only right for Lin Feng to shoulder the responsibility that came with it.

The burden on his shoulders felt heavier, but this pressing need to become stronger came with a hint of sweetness.

It also gave Lin Feng more motivation.

Getting out of bed, Lin Feng glanced at his phone. It was already ten in the morning. He really had slept like the dead.

After chugging a large bottle of mineral water, he put on shorts and a T-shirt, then equipped the Red Armor Shield from the floor by the bed, along with the pistol-shaped Machine Cannon.

Lin Feng tightly gripped the upgraded pistol:

Other than slight enhancements to the Spatial Magazine and the Eye of the Death God, there were no major changes.

Lin Feng directly activated two consecutive upgrades for himself, going from Lv14 to Lv16.

Instantly, a strong warmth flowed from the pistol into his body, coursing through him and raising his various Attributes.

Once that was done, Lin Feng left the bedroom and stepped out of the RV. In the distance, he could already see a large number of construction workers and heavy machinery.

A team of soldiers was also there, maintaining order.

The area was bustling and exceptionally noisy.

It seemed the upgraded RV’s bedroom had excellent soundproofing.

Lin Feng caught sight of a familiar jeep parked next to the rest area and squinted to get a better look.

Qin Hu wasn’t there. Inside sat the lieutenant from last night’s banquet, whom he’d met once. Lin Feng remembered his surname was Li. He was nearly thirty, used to be Qin Hu’s subordinate, and was now a trusted confidant who had reached Lv17 through his Awakening.

So Lin Feng went back to the RV, grabbed a few packs of cigarettes, and walked over to the jeep to greet him.

"Brother Li, you’re here so early? Why don’t I see Brother Qin?"

As he spoke, he offered the cigarettes.

Lieutenant Li remembered the man before him was named Lin Feng, and only then did he accept the expensive cigarettes, saying with a smile:

"Not early at all, the sun’s already high in the sky. The boss took sister-in-law to the airport. He’ll probably be back before noon."

"Oh, right, he specifically told me to give you that truckload of goods. It’s parked back there."

As he spoke, Li Ran tapped on the car window.

"Come on, get in. I’ll take you to get it."

Lin Feng thanked him and got in the car.

A moment later, a truck drove out and parked outside the repair shop next to the RV.

The last time he upgraded and modified the RV, he had scraped and ruined one of the rolling shutter doors on his way out. Fortunately, the other one was intact and could block the view from outside.

Li Ran called over a team of soldiers to unload forty pieces of Back Armor and twenty pairs of Giant Mandibles. Afterward, he and Lin Feng together carried out several heavy wooden crates from the very back of the truck.

Lin Feng pried one open to look. Inside were three standard 30mm anti-aircraft cannons, along with two large crates containing a total of six thousand rounds of reserve ammunition.

"Everything’s here. Remember to build a good relationship with the defense team that gets assigned here."

Lin Feng nodded, understanding the unspoken message, and stuffed the remaining two packs of cigarettes into Li Ran’s pocket.

After watching him drive off into the distance, Lin Feng turned back. A slow smile spread across his lips as he looked at the materials scattered on the ground.
