Apocalypse: My Items Can Upgrade Infinitely

As Qin Hu and his team turned to look at the humanoid corpse thrown before them, their head-mounted searchlights fell upon it.

They saw a grotesquely-shaped humanoid Zerg, three meters tall. What stood out most was the spherical, fleshy tumor on its chest and abdomen, which looked exactly like a human face...

Many of the already-tense squad members trembled with fear, their limbs going numb. They started to lose their grip on their tightly-held Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Swords.

"Ah... Ahhh..."

"Save... save me..."

Before the team could compose themselves, the human face on the tumor, as if stimulated by the light, began to struggle, its mouth opening to issue a hoarse cry for help.

The familiar language of the Federation reached their ears.

Qin Hu instantly realized that the cries he’d heard drifting from the darkness earlier had likely come from this bizarre monster.

It was a trap.

He had nearly suffered the same terrible fate as the heavily injured, unconscious squad member behind him.

"Is this the most well-hidden new type of Tier Two Zerg—the Samurai Hunter Zerg?"

Lin Feng nodded, his left hand gripping the complete corpse of a Pulse War Scorpion.

When a Pulse War Scorpion dies, its six legs curl up under its abdomen, much like most arthropods, forming something of a flower-shaped basket.

By turning the corpse upside down, abdomen facing up, the remaining six Plasma Tail Cannons could be placed inside it.

This conveniently solved the problem of how to carry them.

Lin Feng, who had already reached Tier Two Late Stage Perfection, possessed a Physique Attribute of 980 points. This granted him a terrifying explosive burst of nearly one hundred tons of Power. Even in a normal State, he could exert more than fifty tons of Power.

Dragging the ten-ton Zerg corpse was exceptionally easy.

His free right hand held a brand-new Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword, one that looked slightly different from those carried by Qin Hu’s team.

Its teeth were wider and sharper, and it no longer had a fuel Hose attached to provide cutting power.

The Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword had completed its Upgrade.

It had reached Lv. 24.

Lin Feng walked past the group and set down the Pulse War Scorpion corpse next to the Samurai Hunter Zerg’s.

"After I killed the Pulse War Scorpions, I was ambushed by Samurai Hunter Zergs. Two of them attacked at once..."

"But I took care of them. On my way here, I ran into three more Samurai Hunter Zergs. I killed two, but one got away."

Lin Feng glanced at his Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword, which had now accumulated 6 Upgrade Points. The weapon’s upgraded Attributes appeared before him:

[Note: Basic Damage decreases as the Chainsaw Sword’s Durability decreases.]

After the Upgrade gave him the Bloodthirst Blade attribute, Lin Feng tossed his bulky backpack aside.

It wasn’t that the backpack was too heavy. It just hindered his swings, especially against the swift and cunning ambushes of the Samurai Hunter Zergs. He couldn’t use a reverse grip to protect his back and had to waste precious time turning to face them...

Only the three Genetic Warriors, including Qin Hu, and Shen Jie with his Devouring Assimilation Superpower were valuable enough to be hunted and captured.

Qin Hu took a deep breath, his eyes fixed on the Samurai Hunter Zerg’s corpse. He watched as the struggling, twisted human face on it gradually went still, then asked:

"Have they fused with Awakener genes?"

Lin Feng shrugged:

"Probably. But it might be faster to just stitch an Awakener’s upper body right onto it. That would create a grotesque monster possessing the formidable Physique of a Zerg and the intelligence of a human."

As he spoke, Lin Feng’s expression gradually grew grave:

"These Samurai Hunter Zergs can also use the Superpowers of Human Awakeners, just like Genetic Warriors."

"While I was carving up the Pulse War Scorpion’s corpse, I ran into a Samurai Hunter Zerg that could conceal its presence. Guess whose face was on the tumor on its abdomen?"

Qin Hu’s pupils contracted. When he first heard that Cheng Zhan had miraculously escaped from the Zerg heartland and advanced to a Tier Two Awakening, he had specifically looked into his background check.

As for his escape, Cheng Zhan’s explanation was that his Superpower wasn’t just Physical Enhancement; it also had the extra effect of concealing his presence.
