[VRMMO] Dead One

After the meeting with the lamia leader of the Sand Cobra, I returned back to the center of the hidden oasis and meet up with the rest of the gang before then explained the entire situation to everybody.

"So, we have to find a new safe spot for the lamias in order to hide them from the players and if we were to succeed then they will join our side?" – said Shri.

"Yea. You also received the quest like I did. If we help them out, we will have their support in the war." -said ClownFrog.

"However, we have a problem. How in the bloody hell we will find a hiding spot for them? This place IS good hiding spot, but it’s way too close to the Blue Sand city. We need to find a spot that is quiet far away from any of the major settlements."

"By the way, if you are wondering if it is too hard, the answer is yes. But the problem is that we cannot abandon them. We need all the help we can get before the war starts."

"He is right. We will be fighting against the entire kingdom. On top of that you need to remember, that the kingdom has dispatched a lot of soldiers in the dessert because of how the dangerous this part of the kingdom is. If we are planning on recruiting demi human monsters to our side, then we will end up sooner or later fighting the soldiers that were dispatched here." – said GreyHunt.

"However, there is also another problem. Its supplies."

"There is a lot of these lamias here. We will need a lot of supplies if we want them to travel anywhere. But the question is, where do we get the supplies?"

"..."

"We don’t have enough time to earn enough money to buy enough supplies." – said Oron.

"That only leaves plundering. We can only steal the supplies from the merchants or a settlements."

"However is it even possible to do that?" – asked ClownFrog.

"Unlike the Emerald city, the settlements are heavily defended because of the dispatched soldiers and they even keep their guard up because of the wild monsters. So, we cannot pull any tricks or schemes that would throw the place in chaos."

"If we want to steal supplies, we would have no choice but to slaughter everybody in the settlement, but there is only 6 of us, so obviously some people would escape and inform other settlements about what happened."

"And can we even kill everybody in the first place? We don’t know how strong soldiers dispatch here are."

"Too risky to target settlements like towns or cities to the point it’s not worth it."

"And to make things even worse, we have time limit. We don’t know how long it will take other players to catch up to us. So, we have to rescue the lamias in time and then quickly find the other demi human monsters. Lamias may know where to find them, but will probably not tell us until we rescue them, since they don’t trust us."

"In short, we are fucked?" – said Rampage.

"Pretty much." – replied ClownFrog.

"Fuck."

"This place is a bloody desert, how in the bloody hell we will find a hiding spot?" – said Shri.

"I don’t know. There is probably a good hiding spot out there like this one, but the problem is how far away the location is? We need to provide enough supplies for the lamias while traveling through the dessert and we will obviously have to provide them with an escort." – said Oron.

"..."

"Okay. It may be a good idea to ask the lamias something. Maybe they know a settlement or a safe location that we can check out or something. There is a small chance that they know something, but it’s better to ask just in case." – said ClownFrog.

ClownFrog walked to the pair of lamias that was ordering the other lamias around, one of the two lamias was the lamia with two swords from before as well as the lamia with the short hair.

"Excuse me. Can we please talk for the moment?" – said ClownFrog.

"?"

"Oh, it’s you. What do you want?" – asked the lamia with two swords.

"Well, information. Since nobody knows when the adventures will arrive, we are literally racing against the time. If you know anything, please tell us."

"Do you have any idea where we can look for the safe spot or maybe know some sort of village my gang can raid so we can get the necessary supplies?"

"Hm.... About the hiding spot, I don’t think we can help. We cannot go too far away from our current hiding place but I can definitely say that there is no hiding spots near us." – said the lamia with short hair.

"As for the village.... No. I don’t there is one you can raid. There were few villages in this area, but they ended up being completely destroyed by the wild monsters. The only nearest settlements to us is the Blue Sand city and the Green Sand City."

"Oh! Common on!" – said Shri.

"Are the only available target for us the cities? However, going after city is just straight up suicidal, since we would probably get whipped out and wouldn’t archive anything." – said Oron.

"Yea. The situation is quiet annoying. Even if we find a hiding spot, without the supplies it will all meant nothing. How in the bloody hell will find the food for the lamias?" – said GreyHunt.

"..."

"Em... I have idea." – said Blueberry!"

"!"

"Em... Miss?"

"My name is Alun and this is my sister Alin." – said the lamia with two swords.

"Miss Alun and miss Alin. Currently there is a breeding season of the monsters called murder scorpions. From what I know, their meat is apparently eatable. If we were to hunt them and give you their meat, would that suffice?" – said Blueberry.

"!"

"Yes! It definitely will!" – replied Alin.

"Huh! Nice thinking there!" – said Rampage while patting Blueberry head.

"T-thanks!" – said Blueberry.

"Well, now we can deal with the food problem, but we still have to find the hiding spot, right?" – said Rampage.

"Yea. However, the murder scorpions breeding season will only last for 4 more days." – said ClownFrog.

"..."

"Okay. Listen up."

"We will split up into two groups. 3 of us will go and hunt the scorpions. While the other 3 will go look for the hiding spot." – said ClownFrog.

"I will go with the hunting team, since my undeads will be extremely useful in hunting them. Shri and Blueberry, you will also come with me."

"?"

"Em... Why us?" – asked Blueberry.

"Well, you have currently the lowest level in our group, so you going with the hunting team will help you out in leveling up and Shri has her tamed monsters and with their help, we would be able to hunt even more scorpions at the same time. Me and Shri are the best suited for the job and you will be able to get some levels."

"Sorry, but you three will have to do the search without us."

"Seriously? Fuck me... Are you two fine with that?" – said GreyHunt.

"Well, do we have any choice?" – asked Oron.

"No, we don’t." – said Rampage.

"Fuck. Okay. We will do the search. But what about the caravan?" – asked GreyHunt.

"Well, we will have to take it, if we want to transport the goods. Honestly, there is an option of us having sell the materials and give you the new sand running lizard, but we will probably need another carriage or something, so... You know." – said ClownFrog.

"So, we have to go on the foot. Nice." – said GreyHunt.

"Sorry." – said ClownFrog.

"Don’t be."

"Okay. Its better if we start right away. ClownFrog, can I have the map?" – asked GreyHunt.

"Sure."

ClownFrog handed the map of the dessert to the GreyHunt.

"..."

"Okay. Since we need to find the spot away from the major settlements, we will search in this, this and this direction. We will split up and each one of us will go in different I just pointed."

"If you find anything, report it. Got it?" – asked GreyHunt.

"Yea, yea." – said Rampage.

"Okay, let’s get to it."

Me, Shri and Blueberry headed back to the Blue Sand city while Rampage, Oron and GreyHunt headed in the opposite directions, in order to search the new hiding spot for the lamias.

[4 hours later.]

(Fuck! There is nothing! Only sand and more sand in here! This is a straight up bullshit! There is no hiding spot no matter where I look!) – though GreyHunt while traveling through the dessert.

["Do you have anything? Anything at all?"] – GreyHunt.

["Nope."] – Rampage.

["Same here. I found some abandoned villages, but they are no good."] – Oron.

"Fuck."

(The sun will soon set and when it does, those scorpion monsters will become much more active.)

(Fuck me in the ass! Can we even bloody find anything out there? It would be good if we had sand running lizard, but they need them to transport the supplies.)

"There is no way we can find anything in a single day. It could probably even take us a week to find anything for crying out loud." – said GreyHunt to himself.

(I fuking know that we need lamias, but is it even possible to complete the quest?)

(The quest has unknown difficulty, so this bloody thing could even turn out to be S or maybe something higher!)

GreyHunt, Oron and Rampage continue searching the dessert in order to find the suitable hiding place while ClownFrog alongside Shri and Blueberry were focused on hunting the murder scorpions.

[3 hours later.]

"Uff... God fuking dammed. There is no end to these bastards!"

"As soon as the night came these bastard came swarming at me!"

It was as GreyHunt said, as soon as the night had come, the murder scorpions became extremely active and began coming out of the sand and started attacking GreyHunt nonstop while he was traveling.

After a hard and long battle against murder scorpions, GreyHunt took out two potions and drinked them.

"Tough fuking bastards with poison attacks. No wonder Shri wanted to tame them." – said GreyHunt while opening his chat winddown.

["Hey. Still nothing?"] – GreyHunt

["Unfortunately, yes. None of the abandoned and ruined villages I found were in any conditions to be used as the hiding place. What about you Rampage?"] – Oron.

["No good either. I found one spot, but its crawling with those scorpions. And to make matters worse, there is even area boss in there."] – Rampage.

["WTF?! We were looking for one so long and now one appears in the worst possible timing?!"] – GreyHunt.

["Fuck me. What kind of bullshit is this?!"] – GreyHunt.

["So... Do we gather everybody and go kill it?"] – Rampage.

["Forget it. We have zero info about that area boss and we would probably have to fight and die over and over before we come up with solid strategy. We have to no time to deal with it right now."] – GreyHunt.

["Got it."] – Rampage.

"Fuck me.... Should we ask the lamias for the assistance in order to deal with that area boss?"

"..."

"Nope. Its bad idea. We don’t know if they would even agree to it, since they still don’t trust us and even if they agreed to it, a lot of them would probably die in the fight and we can’t have it happened before the war."

"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccckkkkkkk...."

"..."

["Well, since nobody could find anything, it’s time to log out, I think. These freaking scorpions are way to annoying to deal with during the night."] – GreyHunt.

["I agree. There is way too many of them coming out during the night. Its better if we come back during the day since it would be much safer."] – Oron.

["I say yes too. I think I’m going straight to the bed. See you tomorrow."] – Rampage.

"Well, maybe tomorrow we will maybe find something."

(I guess I should eat that lasagna I bought yesterday and head straight to the bed as well.)

GreyHunt who was about to log out, noticed something from afar.

"..."

(What was that? I just saw something? There was some sort of light for the moment?)

"Weird."

GreyHunt took out a spyglass from his inventory and looked towards the direction where he spotted the light.

"..."

(There is oasis? A quite big one at that.)

(I guess somebody is currently in there.)

"..."

"Fuck it. I may as well check that place before I log out."

(If there is some merchants staying there, I guess I will kill them and take their stuff, since we need money. The will not see me coming!)

GreyHunt began running straight towards the oasis he had spotted and after while he finally manage arrive to the oasis.

"..."

(Okay. It’s time to see who we got here.)

GreyHunt took out two revolvers from his inventory and began slowly traveling through the massive oasis while hiding behind the trees.

"!"

GreyHunt noticed somebody coming his way and instantly hid behind the tree.

"Tch. Why do we even need even to have nigh patrols! Nobody has ever approached this place besides us!" – said the man with the spear.

"I know what you mean, but those were the boss orders, so deal with it." – said the man with the shield and the sword.

"I know. I know. But it’s still annoying! On top of that some idiot that blew up the barrel of the expensive oil we manage to steal and had to put out the bloody fire in the middle of the night. Boss will probably kill the guy that did it and use him as the ingredient for his dark magic or something." – said the man with the spear.

"Yea. I saw him being dragged by the boss right hand man to the ruins. He bastard is good as dead." – said the other man.

"Servs him right." – said the man with the spear.

"Anyway, did you heard that...."

The two armed men had completely walked past the GreyHunt that was hiding right next to them.

"..."

(Who are these people?)

(Are they merceries hired by the merchant?)

"..."

(No.)

(They said something about stole expensive oil barrel and the using the guy as the ingredient?)

(I don’t know who these guys are, but these guys are definitely bandits!)

"Wait."

(They said something about nobody approaching this place besides them? Weird.)

(This is an oasis, people would definitely approach if not stay in here. Is there some reason why people don’t want to approach this place?)

A weird oasis that may hold some secrets and the presence of the bandits?

(I don’t know what the heck is going on, but I need to find out.)
