While Li Jun was trying to convince Yan Jia that she had nothing to worry about, Li Yu was bawling her eyes out, lying on her mother’s lap. As soon as the banquet ended, she went to her mother’s chambers to complain.

At first, she wanted to maintain her composure and voice her grievances calmly. But the moment she opened her mouth, her voice broke, and she started crying. Seeing her looking so pitiful, Xiu Ying beckoned her over, saying, "Oh, darling, who made you this upset? Who is it? Tell mum, and I will go deal with them."

Li Yu wanted to tell her, but she couldn’t stop crying. She cried more than when her father died. Her tears drenched Xiu Ying’s beautiful gown, but she didn’t care. She didn’t speak, but Xiu Ying knew why she was crying.

In every future prediction the system showed her, her daughter’s obsession with Yu Wen remained constant, and in each plotline, she would watch as the man she wholeheartedly devoted her life to fell in love with Li Jun without fail.

She was just a cannon fodder who would die a miserable death with her. She wanted to protect her daughter from the start, thus she made sure that Li Jun and Yu Wen hated each other so much that there was no possibility of them being together. Yet, an accident still happened, and they hooked up.

And she was left with the aftermath, comforting her heartbroken daughter. She brushed the hair stuck on her cheek away and whispered, "Yu Yu, can’t you like someone else?" Though she asked, she already knew the answer to that question. Li Yu’s obsession was etched in her soul. Nothing in this life and the next would ever deter her.

Li Yu cried even harder, snort and tears dripping down her face. Xiu Ying comforted her, saying, "Shh shh shh, mother will take care of it, okay? I will make sure Li Jun pays for what he did. Just be patient."

Hearing this, Li Yu sat upright. Sniffling, she said, "Really?" Xiu Ying nodded her head while taking out a handkerchief to wipe her nose. Seeing how she was treating Li Yu, one would think she was the most doting mother alive.

"When? I want him to be punished now. Mother, he threatened to cut my hand off," she said, and Xiu Ying’s eyes darkened. Li Jun had indeed cut off her hand in the plotline. He cut her hand off because she touched his man. In this timeline, he had actually threatened to cut her off again. That alone triggered her.

She placed the wet handkerchief in her hand and said, "Go wash your face. I will deliver him to your doorstep tomorrow, just don’t tell anyone yet. And no matter what you see, don’t be terrified. It’s only part of the plan." Li Yu didn’t care about the rest. She only cared about finally getting back at Li Jun.

As soon as Li Yu left the room, Xiu Ying called the system, saying, "I can’t wait anymore. Let’s proceed with the plan tomorrow."

The system didn’t reply for a second, as if it was offline. Just when she was about to repeat herself, it responded saying, "As you wish." A bright light shone on her hand, and a strange-looking vial appeared. Xiu Ying’s lips curled into an evil smirk. She was finally going to get what she wanted.

Meanwhile, Li Jun was having the time of his life. After convincing Yan Jia to leave, which was incredibly difficult, he took out expensive bottles of alcohol and put them on the table.

Yu Wen saw the number of bottles he had laid out and couldn’t help but ask, "Li Jun, are you trying to get me drunk?"

With a suspicious-looking smile, Li Jun said, "If you are not going to drink with me, then you can leave." he popped open one of the bottles. Yu Wen picked up the shot glass and placed it in front of him, his answer clear.

Li Jun said, "That’s a good boy," with a teasing tone while pouring a drink out for him. Yu Wen wasn’t at all offended. He smiled slightly, following his every move. He found that when he was with him, he seemed different.

He couldn’t exactly tell where he was different, but he found himself chasing the same feeling. This was why he always wanted to find him. Perhaps if they didn’t have a terrible past, they would have been close.

They both raised their glasses and clinked them. They downed their shots and grimaced at the taste. Li Jun stuck his tongue out in disgust, saying, "It tastes so fucking bitter, but it gets the job done." Yu Wen nodded in agreement. It was so bitter he felt like ripping his tongue out.

This was just the beginning of the chaos. Four drinks in, Li Jun suddenly suggested they play a game. How he even brought it up was a mystery. Whoever lost got to take off a piece of clothing. Yu Wen, who couldn’t stand the smell of that woman on him, agreed immediately.

Li Jun had already forgotten how Yu Wen brutalized him in the last game they played. He was so eager to play. As expected, the general was ruthless. He didn’t even let him win once.

If this were any other time, Li Jun would have exploded by now, but he was too tipsy to be mad. He happily took off his suit jacket, then his pants. When he lost again, he took off his shirt. Each piece of clothing he shed off, he threw at Yu Wen, and Yu Wen threw it as far away as possible. He didn’t want that irritating scent anywhere near him.

Both of them were already intoxicated at this point. Li Jun was sitting on the couch in his trunks, and Yu Wen was sitting opposite him, his gaze trailing down his chest with no shame at all. Li Jun, seeing his eyes trailing down to his crotch, chuckled, saying, "Wen-ge, you just wanted to get me naked, didn’t you?"

Hearing Li Jun call him that, he felt giddy inside like a kaleidoscope of butterflies had stirred within him. He placed his glass down and said, "You suggested the game, so it can only mean that you wanted to be naked for me."

Li Jun poured out another glass and got up, walking over to him. His movements were a little sluggish, but in Yu Wen’s eyes, his every move was tantalizing, putting him in a trance. He thought the man would sit beside him, but Li Jun directly sat on his lap, straddling him.

The irritating scent was gone. All that was left was the prince’s usual warm and inviting scent he had gotten accustomed to. His voice hoarse, he asked gently, "What are you doing?" not knowing where to place his hands.

He wanted to touch that waist, feel his skin at the tips of his fingers just like that night, but he restrained himself. He looked into those beautiful eyes that stared back at him, and his breath hitched. Li Jun took a large gulp of the wine and, without warning, pressed his lips onto Yu Wen’s.
