Xiu Ying had people come in to help her daughter. She wanted to confront her but doing that in her current state would be pointless. She had to wait until she had sobered up.

She turned to her attendant and said, "Go find out where the general went after leaving the palace. I want to know who he met with and who helped him last night."

The middle-aged woman said, "Yes, your majesty," before turning to leave with hurried steps. Xiu Ying glared at her daughter, who was being helped out of her soiled clothes, then let out an irritated huff as she exited the room

Yu Wen woke up to his phone ringing incessantly. His head was throbbing and for a moment he couldn’t tell where he was. His eyes were so blurry that he could barely make out the name on the phone screen. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

He answered the call, the task seemingly laborious. He heard his mother’s voice come through the phone but he couldn’t make out what she was saying. His speech slurred, he said, "Mum, I am still sleeping."

He didn’t even hang up before closing his eyes and falling asleep. Lu Anu looked at the screen showing that the call was still connected but her son wasn’t speaking. She knew that something was terribly wrong. By this time, weekend or not, Yu Wen would be wide awake and already doing morning training.

If it were anyone else, she would have chalked this up to wanting to sleep in but Yu Wen was so rigid with his schedule ever since he was a child. If he messed up his schedule by even a minute, it was like the world had ended and it had ruined the rest of his day.

It seems something must have happened. She called Alex and asked him to check on him. Alex didn’t waste any time. He left immediately and it only took ten minutes for him to arrive. He saw that Yu Wen’s car was parked right outside the gate, which was weird.

He walked over and what he saw had him shaken to the core. The man who was always so meticulous and intentional about how he presented himself to the world was in the car, dressed in ill-fitting swim trunks with hickeys all over his chest and neck.

Alex swore, "Fuck," as he opened the car door. He shook Yu Wen, saying, "General... general... Yu Wen."

Yu Wen opened his eyes, looking irritable. "Stop shaking me. I am awake," he said as he opened his eyes. "Is there a meeting? If there is, cancel it."

"General, look where you are?" Alex said, having realized that he was still not in his right mind. Yu Wen finally came to himself and when he saw that he was only wearing a pair of swimming trunks that clearly didn’t belong to him, he was dumbfounded. Alex took off his coat and handed it to him. Yu Wen accepted it. He put it on and got out of the car.

Alex scanned around for lurkers but found none. "The coast is clear," he said and Yu Wen strode into the house. There were usually people hiding in the bushes to take pictures of him and post them on Starnet.

He had them barred from coming here but they would still show up. Since they were regular people just looking for a picture to sell, he let it go. He had no scandals anyway, so he didn’t care. But today, when they could have caught something, they weren’t there. It had to be the work of someone.

Alex saw something fall when Yu Wen stood up, so he picked it up and followed him into the house. Yu Wen didn’t feel like speaking. He was still trying to piece together what had happened last night. Thus, he entered his bedroom and shut the door with a loud bang, startling Alex, who was standing downstairs. Alex opened the paper and his brows furrowed. It was a repair bill for Club Nova. Was that where the General was last night?

Yu Wen took off the swimming shorts and studied them. They looked somewhat familiar. His eyes widened slightly when a memory of him biting the elastic of the shorts while nuzzling a man’s crotch flushed in his mind. Not just any man, but Li Jun’s.

"What the fuck!" he swore as he threw the shorts away like they were on fire. Memories of how he pressed Li Jun last night filled his mind. Every caress, every kiss and every thrust was incredibly vivid. He could still remember his desperation at the time, begging Li Jun for one more time.

His world instantly shattered to pieces. He slumped on the bed, his fingers shaking. How could this be? How could he want to fuck his father’s killer with such ferocity? There had to be an explanation. He thought back to the water Li Jun gave him last night.

If there was a problem, it had to be that. The ache in his head became even more intense the more he tried to recall the details. Unable to bear it, he stopped.

He was extremely angry but if he went to find the culprit right now, he might kill him. He could only swallow his anger for now and go wash the filth off his body.

After taking an hour-long shower, scrubbing himself hard like that would change what happened last night, he stepped out. His skin was pink, having been rubbed raw. Even his cock wasn’t spared. He scrubbed it till it was shriveled up like a prune, looking pathetic. It was as though he was punishing it for enjoying itself last night.

Yu Wen came downstairs feeling hungry. He smelt the fragrance of simmering shrimp congee coming from the kitchen. Alex couldn’t cook and would probably order food, so it wasn’t him.

This left only one other person. His mother had come over. Alex, who had been kicked out of the kitchen, saw the General and said, "It’s the madam. She was the one who called me to check on you."

Yu Wen nodded and turned to walk into the kitchen when Alex stopped him. "General," he said and when Yu Wen turned to look at him. He showed him the paper, saying, "This fell when you got out of the car."

Yu Wen took the paper from him while asking, "What is it?"

Alex pointed at the name on the invoice and said, "It’s repair costs for Club Nova. It must be from the night of the raid."

He gritted his teeth and said, "I will take care of it." Suddenly, the door opened and Yu Wen shoved the paper in his pocket. He met his mother’s gaze, looking like a child caught doing something he was told not to do.
