- Chapter 1: Max Sullivan
I found myself in a dilemma—I had a stash of drugs and a burning desire to expand my network of dealers.
The challenge, however, was finding someone reliable.
I needed someone to help, but the problem was that I didn’t know anyone for long enough to be able to decide who would not just talk about it with the first person they met.
Mark and Oriol seemed promising since they knew about my supply, and the fact that I hadn’t been caught yet spoke volumes about their trustworthiness.
But I had doubts. Could Mark and Oriol sell without getting caught?
After the second class, I overheard Mark mentioning something about watching gore on the Grey Network.
It got me thinking—was there something akin to the dark web on this planet?
Inspired by the idea of the dark web, I considered creating an undetectable website with a chain of changing IP addresses to avoid government detection.
I needed to find a discreet method to distribute the drugs to customers without arousing suspicion.
As I sat in the third class, trying to focus on my thoughts about discreetly distributing drugs, Sharlotte constantly bombarded me with hugs for some inexplicable reason.
Determined to stay focused, I chose to ignore her, my mind consumed by the task at hand.
Creating a grey network website, I figured, wasn’t a significant challenge; it didn’t even seem illegal based on my research.
However, ensuring its security was another matter entirely.
Realizing I needed an expert, I hesitated to involve Mark, despite his apparent knowledge of the subject. He just didn’t strike me as reliable.
Scrolling through my holographic phone’s contacts, I found ’Dad’.
The fact that he was still listed as a contact suggested he might not be dead.
I decided to dig deeper. Typing his name and surname into what resembled a browser, I discovered that Dad was heading a multi-millionaire enterprise that sold candles.
Now, that sounded suspicious.
I thought that was the reason why I managed to receive substantial amounts of money in my bank account without detection.
The father was probably washing the money and sending it to me in the name of building his child’s savings account.
Returning home, I delved into research about the grey network. To my surprise, it wasn’t that different from the dark web I knew.
I focused on learning how to create an undetectable grey network website.
Encryption, decentralized hosting, and constant IP address changes.
Determined to move forward with my plan, I decided to call my father.
As the call started, his voice, polite but distant, asked, "What do you need?"
I cut to the chase, "Do you happen to know anyone that can set up a grey network website?"
There was a moment of contemplation before he responded, "Hmmm... and what do you need that for?"
I replied, "You know what." I was confident that he was aware of everything.
He said, "I see. Alright, I can get someone to come by my office. But you will need to come here."
I agreed, saying, "Sure," though I had no clue where his office was.
The call ended, and I immediately began devising a plan for how this operation could work.
The idea took shape in my mind—I would create a network of dealers from various locations worldwide.
There would be multiple laboratories, but each of them would be at least 40km from the dealers.
From the labs, the drugs would be delivered to the dealers in casual cars at different times of the day.
Dealers would pick up the shipments and using inconspicuous vehicles send them from different spots using traditional mail, cleverly packed to avoid detection.
To make things even safer, each package would come in a different box, which would make it harder to find out where it came from.
Dealers would operate under a limit on how much they could send, with multiple day breaks in between, ensuring a controlled and discreet distribution process.
The most challenging aspect of the entire operation seemed to be the delivery of compounds and herbs to the laboratories without arousing suspicion.
Especially with labs scattered across 5-10 different locations worldwide.
The compounds needed for production could be sent in different cars and trucks, but I was very worried about where these compounds came from.
I suspected my father played a key role in ensuring the delivery track that wouldn’t raise eyebrows.
But before all of that, there was a crucial concern to address.
I was adamant about not having any drugs manufactured or distributed near our home.
This could easily get me caught without a plan B.
Having just one of the laboratories detected and annihilated wouldn’t be a big problem, as long as people kept quiet.
After giving the problem some thought, I decided I needed to talk to the mother about it and find out where these chemicals came from.
I needed to know where they were coming from and ensure that our home remained free from any connection to the production process.
I approached my mother and asked, "Mom... do you know where all the compounds for the products are coming from?"
She looked at me, confusion etched across her face, and responded, "Why are you asking again? We aren’t supposed to know that."
I paused, realizing that my father had likely orchestrated it this way, keeping certain details hidden from us.
"Oh, right! I’m going to Father’s office tomorrow."
She nodded but raised a concern, "What about school?"
I replied firmly, "This is more important."
The following day, I decided to check the nearest building associated with my father’s company.
It turned out to be on the outskirts of the city, likely the office he mentioned.
When I got there, some people I did not know greeted me, which meant I was probably in the right place.
As I walked up the stairs, I saw candles all over the place, giving the impression that it was a real candle shop.
Looking around some more, someone in one of the glass offices waved at me, and when I went inside, I saw two people.
An older, slender man who I presumed was my father, and a younger, slightly overweight pale man.
I was slowly getting used to the pale white skin color.
The young man addressed me, "Maximillian, I presume?"
I confirmed with a nod, and he continued, "I was told you need a grey network expert."
I affirmed, "I indeed do."
While sitting on a couch, I started to talk about my ideas for a safe, untraceable shopping website that would have features like codenames for encrypted conversations and messages that are deleted every 30 seconds.
The expert told me it was possible, and we started to plan out all the little details.
The only obstacle was how to pay for the services without leaving a trace. I needed a way to obtain encrypted currency, the equivalent of crypto in this world, without using real money.
He mentioned there was a way to obtain encrypted currency without leaving a trace — all I needed to do was use someone as a scapegoat.
Specifically, I could buy the currency using another person’s credentials.
He assured me that he had connections and knew people who would be willing to do so.
After a lengthy discussion, during which my father told me that he had been working with this guy for almost 20 years, I decided to disclose the entire plan.
They were not strongly against it.
Of course, they had no idea that at the very end of the plan I intended to do something extremely harmful.
Once the demand was big enough, I would include a side effect in the pills.
...
With each passing moment, my vision of a discreet and expansive network came to life.
The laboratory in our house was destroyed and burned.
The following delivery, two days later, came to a new laboratory.
My father had meticulously prepared the laboratory in a neighboring country. It was positioned under a regular housing unit.
Many families were living there so a delivery car coming in and out almost every day wasn’t suspicious.
Two dealer houses were strategically situated, each hosting three individuals and located over 100km apart.
With the new compounds, an even more potent and addicting batch of drugs was created.
The packages they prepared... even police dogs won’t be able to detect the drugs that are being sent by those dealers.
The dealers, scattered across different locations, went to great lengths to ensure their cover.
They all drove popular cars. Wore casual clothes. Each had a normal job during the day.
We made sure that they didn’t always go to the same post mail.
They would have multi-day breaks in between sending packages.
Everything was in place. It was time to open up business.
The grey network website was up and running, and with some advertisements on other websites, people caught wind of our operation quite quickly.
It was only a matter of time before demand went through the roof and we had to spread the business to more labs and countries.
I only worried about what Maximillian would do on the day I was not there.
