Sunlight seeped through the gap of the velvet curtain casting light on Zeres’ pale features.
"Hmm, one more minute" he groaned, diving his head deeper on the soft pillow.
"Argh, I can’t even get a good sleep." He stood up groggily.
Ever since his assimilation went up, the heartbeat and the sound of crickets were do strong in his ears.
"Tsk, I have to attend school again" he clicked his tongue as he slowly made his way to his bathroom.
"Ugh" he groaned as he delve his body deeper into his bathtub; it was an exquisite one, made of a black material that Zeres hadn’t seen.
"What would happen today? " he mumbled to himself, his gaze drifted towards the ceiling.
He felt like he was walking in a thorned path, ever since the second semester began he felt lost.
He remembered his sister telling him that she had made drastic changes on the second semester onwards.
That means, he have to be on guard in case something unexpected happen.
"This sucks" a breath escaped from his mouth.
"Well, it’s just the start of the second semester, so I should at least have it easy right? "
______________
’Have it easy my ass, I’m being targeted on the very first day.’ He smiled dryly.
As always, thing didn’t go as planned.
"What, why aren’t you picking it up?"
"Don’t tell me you’re scared? " a taunting voice reached his ears as he stared on the gloves that had been threw at him.
In nobles, this was their sign of asking for a duel.
"Maybe~" the man’s lackeys sneered.
"If you back out here, we’ll consider that as you telling all of the cadets you aren’t on the same level as the class-A." The man who had threw a gloves at him grinned. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
’What a pity’ Zeres thought to himself.
The noble man had quite the look, though not enough for him to feel threatened.
A black hair combed neatly, chiselled jawline and a deep set of blue eyes.
"What a mess" Zeres sighed as he picked gloves on the ground.
He stared at the gloves for a moment, he could feel the soft fabrics on it.
’Tsk, lucky bastard’
All of a sudden, he gripped the gloves tightly before throwing it straight at the man’s face.
"You insolent—! " the man tried to lunged, but his lackeys all prevented him.
"I’ll see you on the training grounds."
"Ruining my mood early in the morning" get clicked his tongue, annoyance flaring on his expression.
’Should I have just beaten them to a pulp? ’
"Has, nevermind" he massaged his temples as he walked on the crowded hallway.
And as always, the dizzying sound of heartbeats rammed straight into his ears. The scent of blood so vivid made his mouth felt dry.
’When will I get used to this?’ He thought bitterly.
Everytime he was starting to get used on his senses, that assimilation will rise up, making him suffer from those dizzying sound.
Crossing the hallway quietly, he had arrived before the massive dark-oak door quickly.
He pushed it open as he entered.
"Ohh, there he is"
"He’s ranked second one the trial? "
"Yeah, apparently his points were even close to the Zenith."
"Whoa"
The cadets all murmured openly in front of him.
’Well, at least it’s not a bad issue’ he glanced up, his eyes scanning the round seats.
The lecture hall was wide, so wide that comparing the rooms on the first semester was an insult to the lecture hall.
There were three rows with five lined up tables.
He went up on the stairs, arriving on the farthest seat.
’Tsk, I’ll have to stuck here with this senses’ he clicked his tongue in annoyance before he settled on the wooden chair.
’Am I early? ’ he thought, his gaze drifting towards the tall windows.
All of a sudden, the door sprang open as an old looking man entered, he had long gray beard down his neck.
"Good morning Cadets" the old man greeted.
"I am Gaios, and I will be your professor in alchemy."the old man introduced, he wore a brown leather robe and a wooden staff beside him.
Zeres’ eyes widened. ’What’s the academy thinking? An alchemy as the very first lecture?’
Surely everyone will be bored to death.
But, he was proven wrong immediately.
"Wow Alchemy class"
"I always wanted to brew a potion"
"Yeah, healers are expensive so helping potion is more practical."
The students murmured lively, excitement evident the way their eyes gleamed with anticipation.
"Hohoho" the old man chuckled, touching his beard, he looked at all of them.
"Alright, I can see all of your spirits! Now go on the Kieta Forest to take this ingredients! " the old man turned on his heel.
His hands shoting straight at a chalk as he scribbled on the board.
=======
Ingredients
5 Moiner Leaves
3 Ygres Grass
2 Slime
=======
Zeres stared at the ingredients the old man had written on the board.
The professor then began drawing with a mere chalk on the board.
A flower with three massive petals, purple in color and a grass with the color of orange.
’It indeed stands out’ he thought, then his gaze went further down.
’Slime? ’ his brown arched.
"Professor, are we going to make a poison?! " a student stood up excitedly, her eyes practically glowing.
"Hohoho, so you know it? Yes, we’ll start with that one." He replied, then he stepped down the podium.
"All cadets, come with me" he ordered.
The cadets all followed, their eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"But professor, why poison? "
"Brat, you all are still new, perhaps no one told you but making a healing potion is one of the hardest." The old man sighed.
"Destroying a body is easier than fixing it."
The cadets stared at each other confusedly before they arrived at the foot of the forest.
"We still have a lot of time, take your time there find the ingredients you deem good to be brewed." The professor said, still touching his long beard.
"What? You got a problem with my beard? " the old man suddenly asked, his gaze fixed on Zeres.
"Ugh, no" Zeres shook his head.
