A wry smile appeared at Feilres face. "I was planning to find you, but now you’re here ruining my plans." He said, his shoulders tensing.
"That’s quite eloquent of you, considering how you’ve tried to cripple someone."
Feilres eyes narrowed, his jaws tightened. "It was necessary."
"Is it? Or maybe you’re just a coward not wanting your enemy to grow." Zeres lips curled up, sharp white teeth appearing as he spoke.
"Interesting" Feilres trudged towards him, the mana around him shifted—before it flared to life, golden flames surrounding his entire body.
"Will you be okay your highness? You know full well you won’t be able to beat me."
"You’re certainly strong, against one-on-one that is" Feilres snapped his gloved fingers—students appeared one after another, circling Zeres—they carefully narrowed down the space between them.
"Now, what will you do? " Feilres’ cold voice drifted across the snowfields.
’He can’t possibly win against this many’ he thought, though his fist was clenched tight.
Out of all the students of Class-A, he found Zeres the most troublesome to deal with. Not only is his rank high, it’s unknown whether he’s a revenant or eclipse; he had made several attempted to gauge his level, but this vampire never really tried.
"This is hard" Zeres said flatly, his blood rubies-like eyes stared down at Feilres. "It’s hard not to kill someone."
"Do you seriously not understand the situation you’re in? " a woman snapped, her green pigtail hair swayed before she pointed her staff at Zeres.
Observing from a far, Feilres felt cold sweat forming on his back and forehead; for some reason, his instincts were screaming at him.
’Did I make a mistake? ’
Standing at the center of the encirclement, a low, dangerous smile tugged at his lips.
Just then, the cold wind howled and a terrifying mana burst forth. Bloody crimson aura dyed all of their visions as they all staggered back. There was one massive crimson eye behind Zeres!
"W-whats that? " a boy stammered
’What is this bloodlust? ’ Feilres raised his arms to cover his vision. He knew it clearly, the distinct difference between mana and bloodlust—and the one Zeres is unleashing was a bloodlust.
"What now? Aren’t you all gonna come at me? " Zeres raised both of his hands in provocation, his posture completely relax as if the battle itself held no meaning.
"Charge! It’s all bravado, don’t be intimidated!! " a burly man with curly brown hair thundered, his massive build made all of the other students gained confidence.
"Right, we still have him, Kevin! "
’Hmmph, a mere vampire dared to go against his highness? I’ll show you what it feels to grovel at our feet! ’ he sneered inwardly, his hand grabbing the massive axe behind him.
"Haaa!!" He shouted as he swung the heavy axe downward towards the cocky vampire.
"Is that all? "
Just then, the snow around them lifted, and Zeres was calmly holding on his heavy axe’s blade with just two fingers.
"What, cat got you tongue? " Zeres smirked at Kevin, his long white hair fluttered behind him.
"But you’re not my target you see" he said flatly, then his knees slammed straight at Kevin’s stomach. The sound of bones cracking echoed loudly as all students charged straight at Zeres.
"You bastard! " Kevin snarled while skidding backwards. He tried to get up—his knees trembled before he fell on the ground.
"It’s fine, you’ve done your best" Feilres said behind him, his eyes sharp.
"But! "
"Mr. Kevin, losing here is fine—we’re up against a monster after all." Feilres clicked his tongue.
Kevin gritted his teeth, glaring at the man who calmly deflected all of the attacks from the students in every direction.
His plan was foiled before his eyes. He initially prepared this for Saelyz, he wanted the top spot—him not taking the top spot in freshmen was already a shame for his family; much worse, his brother, Allistair will use it on the succession war.
"Is this what they call the superior races? " Feilres brow arched. Though not many humans will admit it—he knew full well, that in terms of power, humanity was the weakest.
"Do you have eyes behind you!? " a skinny boy cried out, his hands trembling from mana exhaustion—he had used up all of his mana, yet not a single scratch was there on the vampire.
"Is it our time now? " a woman asked, her short black hair fluttered from the strong wind. she wore a black fabric that tightly count to her figure, twin daggers hanging on her side.
"Yeah, the pathetic ones are now gone! " a man with short ashen-gray hair replied, he sat on the ground with spear on hand.
"Yes, let’s go" a low voice replied, the both of then turned their heads towards the sound. A massive man clad in armor stood there shyly—opposite to his build. He held up the massive shield on the sky, then they all lunged.
’Class-B’s strongest cadets? ’ Zeres tilted his head, blood spilled from his cheeks as a sari dagger flashed before him.
’Damn, that’s a good teamwork; I really need to learn magic thoroughly’ wiping the blood on his cheeks, he stared at the trip standing there cautiously.
"You’ve got yourself an amazing dogs Feilres" his lips curled up. "But it won’t be enough, you’ll eventually need to face me."
"You rude bastard! " the man with a spear moved, too fast for the human eye—appearing behind Zeres, he thrusted his spear straight at his stomach.
Zeres twisted his torso, but the woman was already before him, her daggers gleamed before she plunged it down his legs.
"Perfect"
The both of them stopped moving, they instincts flared as they both jumped to different directions. Their gazes then snapped towards where they came from—and there, Zeres bloodlust was running wild.
"What an awful bloodlust" the woman hissed, just being near that bloodlust made it hard to move.
The air around them trembled with heavy tension, the massive crimson eye behind Zeres stared at them. Unblinking.
’He must’ve killed a lot of humans’ she thought grimly. Because bloodlust was only obtained after killing a living being.
