Stefan’s POV:

I searched for her at each part of the lake, but she was nowhere to be found.

“NO! NO! NO! GISELLE!!” I shouted again from the top of my lungs.

My heart was about to break my ribcage and come out of my chest.

This can’t happen! I killed Giselle? I can’t do such a thing! I can’t kill my own mate.

I covered my face with the palms of my hands in fear.

I should have asked her if she knew how to swim. How can I be so careless and throw her into the water without asking?

“Are you looking for something, Stefan?” came Giselle’s sweet voice from behind.

I looked behind and saw Giselle sitting at the lake shore with a sly smile.
