"That sword???" Harold noticed it instantly. The other monsters also reacted, a look of surprise flashing across all their faces. But before anyone could process further or react...

Leon vanished from his position, leaving behind an after image.

He appeared in front of Nicholas like a ghost. "Thanks for saving us back then. Sorry, you are ending up like this." Leon vanished. Nicholas stood frozen before a thin red line appeared in his waist. The next moment, his upper half slid and crashed into the ground. His eyes were wide open with horror. "What was tha..." He started, but his voice trailed off.

Leon appeared behind a group of hunters. Hunters who wanted to kill Emily.

"You wanted to kill one of your own. Well, don’t blame me for doing the same." A whisper followed by a white flash. Blood sprayed as five bodies were cleaved in half.

Before others could prepare, Leon appeared before two more hunters. Those two only saw an afterimage before the world around them twisted.

"Watch out. He’s dangerous." One of the hunters shouted. But just when he had finished his words, his head flew away.

"Stop him." Harold shouted from the wyvern’s back.

The monsters who had only been watching until now sprang into action.

An S-Class beast, a humanoid monster, roared, ready to swing the massive battle axe it was carrying. But before it could even take two steps, a white flash. Its legs were cut off. Then another. Its whole body was vertically cleaved in half.

Emily stood up, one hand clutching her stomach. She watched the scene unfold with wide eyes. ’He... He had been hiding well.’

Sol, Noah, and Meridith also stood up. Meridith helped the other two hunters who had decided to stick with Emily. ’I am lucky I didn’t choose to go against the real monster.’ Both of them had this exact same thought.

Sol felt his whole world collapsing. ’How old is he? Two to three years older than me? Younger than sis, the prodigy in the history of mankind. But here he is. Massacring all possible logic and common sense. What a freak!’ Sol couldn’t help but smile spread across his face even in a situation like this. ’We are lucky we found him by chance.’

Noah could barely produce any words. He couldn’t even think. His eyes were only darting left and right, trying to see what Leon was doing next.

"Nooo. Run. He’s going to kill all of us." One of the hunters tried to turn around and run. But he fell on his knees and collapsed on the ground. But the fear of death didn’t let him stay motionless. He started crawling.

Schlk! Blood splattered as one body fell beside him.

Schlk! Another body fell beside him. His body started to tremble in fear as he kept crawling. "We were wrong. I know we were wrong. Please show mercy. Pleaseeeee." He was pleading for forgiveness, tears rolling down his face but he didn’t dare to look back.

And then...

He felt a breeze sweeping past him. The next moment, all his limbs went numb as he collapsed on the ground flatly. "I wish I hadn’t...."

Leon looked like a phantom, weaving between humans and monsters, a myth pulled out of a horror novel. Wherever his silhouette went, blood splattered, screams tore through the sky.

’No. No. No. It’s still not enough. I need to move faster.’ He gritted his teeth and pushed past his limits. By now, except Emily and those who had decided to stand with her, all the other hunters in this hidden realm were dead. Even Alex and Willow weren’t spared.

When their bodies had fallen, Noah felt a pang of pain. Memories flashed in his mind. Those same two people had helped him learn and hone his magic spells. Gossiping and laughing together. Raiding dungeons together.

Monsters started to fall one after another. S-Class or A-Class. None could defend against a single attack from Leon. Most could even see where the strikes came from.
