Now today we’ll get back to our story.
Daniel actually told me that I shouldn’t get into the details of our intimate time in the inn that day, but honestly, what kind of wife would I be if I didn’t brag about my husband’s more romantic side?
I am going to tell them what a sweetheart you are.
Oh honey don’t act like you don’t want people to know that.
You go around collecting new bit— I mean "sister-wives" for me like they’re candy, this’ll only help you with that.
Yes, well two of them, other than myself, are still a collection!
You didn’t need three wives, I was more than enough!
Fine! I’ll let it go... I’ve made peace with it anyway.
***
In that moment of pure bliss I felt while kissing Daniel for the first time, I knew that everything was over.
I knew that in only a little more than a day, I had fallen completely and utterly in love with this man.
I had always heard stories from the maids about how love at first sight existed, how sometimes it wasn’t a slowly building flame, but an insane inferno that catches you completely off guard.
And it seemed that I had been caught in the blazes of that inferno.
The joy, and comfort, I felt when he placed his hand on my cheek to hold me in place as he explored my lips nearly overwhelmed me.
Every moment of that kiss was pure bliss for me.
It wasn’t long before the angle of our positions was starting to tire me out, so I made a move to remedy that.
Unfortunately for the inexperienced Daniel, that meant that I decided to straddle him. Which caused one of the cutest reactions I had seen from him to this day, he completely froze.
He didn’t breathe, didn’t continue our kiss, he didn’t even blink for a few moments.
And this caused something to happen that I hadn’t experienced in years.
I burst out laughing.
It wasn’t the fake laugh I had to practice in courts, it wasn’t a laugh of derision, it was a genuine full bellied laughter.
The sound of which finally snapped Daniel out of his stupor.
He gently brushed my hair behind my ear, cupping my cheek again, wiping the tears from my eyes with a thumb.
"You’re even more beautiful when you laugh." he whispered to me.
Before I could respond, he leaned forward for another round of intense kissing.
Before that night both of us might have been completely inexperienced, but we were both pretty quick studies when it came to kissing, and the amount of practice we had in the next couple of hours made it all the better.
I don’t know how much time passed before we finally awoke from the passions of our intimacy. But finally I found myself lying on his chest, tracing small circles on his chest.
"Did you expect this to happen when you brought me into your room?" I asked.
"Of course I did... I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist my charms." He answered with that fake smug smile I had grown to love in the short time we had known each other.
Every time the man opened his mouth he said something that made me either fall more in love with him, or laugh, which had the exact same effect.
"You’re a terrible liar, you know that?"
He turned his head just enough to kiss the top of mine.
"I do know that," he started, as he pulled me even closer to him. "But I also know that I would never lie to you about anything that was actually important."
Since we had started talking like this, I hadn’t been able to stop smiling.
"But if you want me to be completely honest with you, all you have to do is ask."
I looked up into his eyes to find them looking back at me with absolute trust, and the promise of honesty.
I knew that I could ask him anything at that moment, and he wouldn’t hesitate to tell me, and it would be nothing but the truth.
If it was possible to fall even more in love than I already was, it definitely happened in that moment.
I didn’t need to ask him anything more, I didn’t need to know anything more, just the fact that I knew he would never hide anything from me... that was enough for me.
***
I hope you didn’t think that I would actually go into detail about our love making.
Because that is way too personal for me to tell a bunch of strangers about.
Even Daniel, who is a complete braggart, agrees with me about this.
Of course you are a braggart.
But you’re a sincere braggart.
You’re our braggart.
And we wouldn’t change you for anything.
Now I know this session was a bit shorter than usual, but we have a lot of important meetings scheduled for today, so we’re going to have to cut it short for today.
And just because my husband asked me very nicely, he’s going to tell the part about me teaching him magic tomorrow.
So you should prepare yourselves for his endless tirades about how awesome he is— Even though he actually is that "awesome" it’s not necessary for us to give him a big head.
