Chillin' on an Uninhabited Island in Another World

Day six of life on the deserted island has begun.

As I wake up, a faint light filters in through the glass window. Sleeping beside me is the black-haired class representative, Minori Shijo.

She seems to let her ponytail down when she sleeps; her glossy black hair is spread across the mattress. Her ample chest rises and falls rhythmically with her breathing, making my own heart race. A scent of soap or perhaps herbs drifts from her, feeling as though it fills the entire room.

"Nn..."

"Morning, Minori."

At first, she rubs her eyes sleepily, but she seems to grasp the situation almost immediately and turns bright red.

"G-Good morning, Sousuke-san. That's right... we, we did sleep together last night."

Apparently, the duty rotates every night, and last night it was Minori's turn to sleep with me.

Of course, it wasn't just "sleeping side-by-side"; we did what needed to be done. Her response to the act—shy yet proactive—was incredibly lewd—no, that’s not it. If I start remembering it, things will get out of hand down there, so I desperately suppress the thought.

"Ahaha, the dream was long last night."

"It really was."

First, three hours in the bonus area. After that, the usual white dream.

The Day Five choice was "Fruit vs. Vegetables."

Whether it was a craving for sugar over nutritional balance, "Fruit" won the vote.

As a result, the variety of fruits placed around the island will increase. Starting today, we’ll likely find the kind of common fruits you’d see in a typical supermarket.

"U-Um... Sousuke-san."

"Yeah?"

Minori looks down, fidgeting hesitantly.

"I-If you don't mind... um... I heard you did it with the other girls, too... so..."

Sensing her intent and feeling a bit bashful myself, I lean over Minori and we exchange a kiss.

"...I realized after I did it, but was this what you meant?"

"N-No, you're right. Fufu... thank you."

The joyful look on Minori’s face makes my heart skip a beat.

"No, thank you..."

Raising my upper body and looking toward the floor, I spot something.

It’s the solar panel Minori "selected" and the cord reel I "selected."

"Oh...! Minori, looks like we really were able to bring back the things we chose."

Minori sits up as well and looks at the floor.

"...Even knowing those are the rules, experiencing it for real is still surprising."

"Tell me about it."

I’ve gotten used to the "anything goes" vibe of the mystery blackboard, but that shopping mall that looked just like Japan was a shock.

"Shall we set them up right away?"

"Let's do that. ...Actually, thinking about efficiency, this might not be the best spot."

"True, we’re at the bottom of a cliff, so it's quite shady." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"Our combat strength is solid now, too. Maybe it’s time we moved."

We originally chose this spot below the cliff °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° back when it was just Chiyu and me. With the phantasmal beast duo of Mashiro and Micron, plus Minori’s magic and the abundant resources in my "Inventory," handling an intruder or two wouldn't be difficult.

It would be fine to move somewhere with better sunlight.

"I see, that might be for the best."

"Let's talk to everyone about it during breakfast."

For now, I store the items rolling on the floor. At that moment, Minori speaks up as if remembering something.

"Sousuke-san, I think you should go to Shion-san’s room as well."

"Right, the refrigerator. Yeah, let's do that."

Chiyu and Shouko have hair dryers, so they should be able to carry those themselves.

As I get out of bed, Minori seems restless. Once again, I sense what’s on her mind.

"Ah... it's just a short walk, but do you want to hold hands?"

"...! Y-Yes. Please."

When I offer my hand, Minori takes it reservedly. The two of us step out into the hallway and head toward Shion’s room.

"Shion, morning."

As I greet her with a knock, the door opens immediately. In that same instant, Minori quickly lets go of my hand.

"Morning, Sousuke-kun. And you too, Minori-san."

"The fridge... it’s here. I'll store it and carry it for you."

"Fufu, thanks. I was so surprised when I woke up and it was right in front of me."

After storing the fridge and heading back into the hallway, we run into Chiyu and Shouko. They’re both cradling hair dryers in their arms.

"Morning, you two. Come to think of it, the products aren't packaged, huh?"

"Mm. But the manuals are included."

"I mean, some people do buy stuff saying 'I don't need the box,' but why for us too?"

"Maybe since even cardboard could be a valuable resource on this island, it isn’t included as part of the 'product'?"

As Shion responds to Minori’s theory with an "Ah, true," she continues:

"On this island, we basically carry everything by hand. Even an extra cardboard box would be a precious item."

I painfully realized early on after the transfer that mundane everyday items become treasures here. Like how the undershirt I was wearing became incredibly useful as a towel for wiping my body.

It feels like a long time ago, yet it’s only the morning of the sixth day.

"Anyway, let's have breakfast."

Everyone nods at Shion’s suggestion. We all make our way slowly downstairs.

"Sousuke, let's look for rubber trees today."

Chiyu says this with sparkling eyes, clearly aiming to harvest latex for condom production.

"Th-That’s fine, but aren't you excited for the fruits that were added today?"

Shouko tries to change the subject, her face turning bright red.

"Ah, yeah. But before that, there’s something I want to do."

"It seems he's considering moving to a place with better sunlight so the solar panel can generate power efficiently."

"A move, huh? I think that's a great idea. This place is nice, but it’s a bit dark."

Once on the first floor, we all head to the bath area.

A barrel of water and a ladle are prepared there. Each of us ladles some water to wash our faces.

As soon as Chiyu finishes washing her face, she heads off to feed the chickens and collect eggs.

Towels are kept in the changing room; I periodically store and redeploy the used ones to keep them clean.

Afterward, Shion and Chiyu—the latter clutching eggs—head to the kitchen. The rest of us go to the dining table in the living room.

The kitchen is visible from the living room, so we can talk without any issues.

"Mm. With this group, there's no problem setting up house wherever we like."

"I’d love a place where we can see the ocean!"

"Shall we explore the top of the cliff and see if there’s a good spot? We should be able to find somewhere with great sunlight and a nice view."

"Alright. Then, once breakfast is done, we move. After that, we’ll split into two groups: one for exploration and one for equipment setup. We'll have lunch together and discuss the plans for the afternoon then."

Everyone seems on board, so the plan is set. From there, the conversation turns to yesterday's bonus area, and the atmosphere gets lively with talk about what we want next.

At Shouko’s strong request, breakfast is pancakes. They’re served with Shion’s crispy makeshift bacon and Chiyu’s scrambled eggs. The drink is sheep's milk.

The pancakes, smothered in plenty of butter and maple syrup, are delicious, and everyone eats with a look of pure bliss. If you were to take a snapshot of this scene, we wouldn't look at all like high schoolers stranded on a deserted island.

Until the day we can all return to Japan with our abilities and memories intact. We will continue to live on this deserted island.
