Ma Xiaofei hadn’t expected to be chosen by such a major client.

Manager Gao immediately had everyone else leave and instructed Ma Xiaofei, "Xiaofei, you must take good care of Mr. Lu. There can be no mistakes."

Then, he turned to Lu Fan with a smile. "Mr. Lu, just call me if you need anything at all."

"Alright." He nodded. "Then I’ll have to trouble Manager Gao to arrange for my friend to go to the private room next door. He wants two technicians."

"Of course, no problem."

Hearing this, Chen He left excitedly.

It wasn’t every day the boss treated him to some R&R.

Once everyone had gone, Lu Fan looked at Ma Xiaofei and smiled. "What’s your full name?"

"Boss Lu, my name is Ma Xiaofei." Full of enthusiasm, Ma Xiaofei came to his side and began helping him take off his shoes.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the phone, Jiang Ming’s heart trembled when he heard the familiar voice.

He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, terrified of what he might overhear next.

Lu Fan, however, said, "No rush. Come, sit here and chat with me for a bit first."

As he spoke, he patted the spot beside him.

Seeing his gesture, Ma Xiaofei immediately sat down next to Lu Fan. "Boss Lu, what would you like to talk about?"

"Nothing in particular. Let’s just shoot the breeze," Lu Fan said with a chuckle.

Ma Xiaofei was a smooth talker who knew how to say what people wanted to hear. In a soft, delicate voice, she said, "Boss Lu, you look so distinguished. You must be a big-shot businessman, right? Is this a rare chance for you to come and relax?"

"You guessed it," Lu Fan laughed. "I was getting tired of business deals, so I thought I’d come get a massage. I have this little habit, you see—I only let technicians I feel a connection with work on me. And out of all of them, I picked you at first sight."

"Oh my, I must be really lucky then." Ma Xiaofei knew exactly what was going on. Anyone who could put 100,000 on their tab here was definitely a whale. She immediately picked up a cup of water. "Here, Boss Lu, let me help you drink~"

Lu Fan saw this and didn’t refuse, drinking directly from the cup she held.

This sent Jiang Ming, on the other end of the line, into a frantic panic.

In all the time since their first date and making things official, Ma Xiaofei had never once offered to help him drink a cup of water.

’This might just be her professional code of conduct.’

Jiang Ming clung to a sliver of hope.

But in the next moment, he heard a shocking exchange.

Lu Fan cut straight to the chase. "By the way, places like this aren’t always completely ’clean and green,’ are they?"

Ma Xiaofei was taken aback for a second before giving an awkward laugh. "Boss Lu, what are you saying? Every foot massage parlor is ’clean and green’ these days. With crackdowns being so strict, who would dare risk it?"

But Lu Fan waved her off. "Don’t beat around the bush with me. I’ve been to dozens of foot massage parlors, if not a hundred. The amount I’ve spent in them can be measured in the millions. I just want to know if there are any ’off-menu’ services."

"Oh my~ Boss Lu, you haven’t even gotten your foot bath and massage yet, and you’re already eager for the next step," Ma Xiaofei coaxed. "How about this? I’ll tell you all about our little ’routines’ while I wash and massage your feet~"

"Fine. You can take off my shoes, then," Lu Fan gestured.

Ma Xiaofei knelt before him and began to remove his shoes.

Lu Fan’s expression remained calm as he watched her sycophantic display. ’Nine times out of ten, she’s trouble,’ he thought.

He felt a wave of resignation, thinking of how his brother-in-law treated this woman like a treasure.

’He just hasn’t gotten enough foot massages. A couple more visits to a place like this and he’d be completely disillusioned.’

Ma Xiaofei placed Lu Fan’s feet into the wash basin and began to massage them. Seeing this, Lu Fan pressed, "So, can you tell me now?"

"Boss Lu, the truth is, our establishment really is clean and green. There are no ’gray’ services at all~" Ma Xiaofei said, starting her pitch.

Hearing this, Lu Fan’s expression darkened.

Ma Xiaofei was sharp, though. She quickly clarified, "Of course, the parlor’s rules are one thing... but as young people, aren’t we allowed to have our own personal lives?"

"For example, I meet you today, Boss Lu, and I think you’re very handsome. If you wanted to ask me out for a late-night dinner or something, I’d naturally be willing to go."

Lu Fan closed his eyes. After listening to her answer, he nodded. "A late-night dinner is fine, but I’m more interested in what comes after."

"What comes after..." Ma Xiaofei said, testing the waters. "If Boss Lu is interested, I could keep you company. But if I have to take time off to go out, I’ll get docked. I wonder if Boss Lu would be willing to make up for my lost wages?"

"Ten thousand. You’re all mine for the rest of the night," Lu Fan said without hesitating.

Hearing this, Ma Xiaofei grew visibly excited. "Really, Boss Lu? I’ll go speak with my manager in a bit, then."

She began to massage his feet with renewed vigor.

Now that Lu Fan had gotten the confession he was fishing for, he tapped his phone screen twice, signaling Jiang Ming on the other end of the WeChat call.

He jabbed the elevator button, wanting to go up and demand an explanation, to confront Ma Xiaofei and ask her why she had deceived him.

But when he reached the third floor, he found Chen He already waiting for him.

The moment Chen He saw Jiang Ming, he pushed him back into the elevator, pressed the button for the first floor, and said, "The boss knew you’d come up, so he had me wait here for you."

Jiang Ming’s face was flushed with anger. "I’m going to settle the score with that woman! She told me she led a clean life, that she never did this kind of stuff!"

Chen He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "I don’t know if I should call you naive or just plain stupid. Let me put it this way: there’s no smoke without fire. Trying to stay pure in an environment like this? That’s even more of a fantasy than a lotus blooming from the mud."
