Chapter 98: Reaching an Agreement
Upon hearing that it was also Master Dahr’s idea, Baron Simon didn’t inquire further.
Though he was the chairman of the Golden Vine Chamber of Commerce, master Dahr didn’t really need to concern himself with Simon; such was the status and pride of being a rune master.
“So, how do you intend to cooperate with the Golden Vine Chamber of Commerce?” Wanting to establish a connection with Dahr, Simon naturally didn’t want to give up easily, but the benefits worth fighting for had to be fought for.
“The Golden Vine Chamber of Commerce will contribute ten thousand gold coins, occupying ten percent of the new guild’s shares, and will be responsible for sourcing raw materials and selling the products,” William replied.
“Ten percent? Isn’t that a bit too little? After all, it seems like most of the work will require the efforts of the Golden Vine Chamber of Commerce.” Baron Simon smiled lightly, indicating his reluctance to compromise.
“Not at all. Master Dahr himself will take fifty percent of the shares, and each of us—Bernie, Mora, and myself—will take ten percent. This is non-negotiable. The Golden Vine Chamber of Commerce will take ten percent, and I also intend to involve the Canlight United Chamber of Commerce for the remaining ten percent,” William stated firmly.
William didn’t back down, not only leveraging Dahr’s prestigious name but also bringing up the Canlight United Chamber of Commerce, implying that there were other options available.
Baron Simon furrowed his brow at this unexpected mention of the Canlight United Chamber of Commerce. Tentatively, he said, “You’ve also contacted the Canlight United Chamber of Commerce? As far as I know, it’s quite difficult to collaborate with them.”
Baron Simon halted his words abruptly as he noticed a golden card suddenly appear in William’s hand. With his sharp eyesight, he immediately recognized it as a diamond VIP card from the Canlight United Chamber of Commerce.
How could William possess such a card with his status?
Even if he were a viscount, he might not necessarily obtain it. It seemed that William had a close relationship with the Canlight United Chamber of Commerce, perhaps even with Duke Harold. This made it inconvenient to negotiate for more benefits.
After all, Baron Simon’s current aim was simply to seize the opportunity to connect with Master Dahr and hadn’t thought much about the market potential of the enchanted products William mentioned.
Even if the magical consumption could be greatly reduced, the cost of elemental crystals remained, and the sales volume wouldn’t be very high.
“I didn’t expect you to consider this so thoroughly. I agree. I’ll have the relevant personnel of the Chamber of Commerce coordinate with you later. Is that acceptable, Viscount Cain?” Simon said with a smile, completely ignoring the diamond VIP card William had just taken out.
“Thank you for your attention, Uncle Simon,” William said gratefully.
As the controller of the Golden Vine Chamber of Commerce, the Carl family naturally had permanent Chamber of Commerce staff at home. Mora called someone over and quickly drafted two copies of the agreement. William and Baron Simon each signed their names and affixed their family crests.
Although it was just the simplest contract, it was sufficient.
Such cooperation was built on the mutual trust of both parties, until one side chose to withdraw.
Overly complicated contracts were unnecessary, as they couldn’t bind extraordinary forces. Unless witnessed by deities, there were too many ways to avoid fulfilling the terms of the contract.
After politely bidding farewell to Baron Simon, William and Mora walked out of the Carl family mansion side by side.
Finally convinced him. The framework of the guild should be set now.
William breathed a sigh of relief, pondering.
It was quite exhausting to outwit someone as cunning as Baron Simon, but luckily he had the two gold-plated assets of master Dahr and Duke Harold.
William didn’t feel burdened, though. Networking! That’s what it’s all about—something to be used when the time is right. After all, it’s not like connections can generate gold coins.
“The remaining tasks will mainly fall to you. You’ll have to start gradually mastering the recruitment of guild members, sourcing materials, and finding markets for our products. After all, we can’t always rely on other guilds’ channels,” William instructed Mora.
“I understand!
Mora didn’t say much, but the determination and excitement in his eyes revealed his inner fervor.
After being stifled at home for so long, how could he not seize such an opportunity to showcase his abilities?
“Where are we going next?”

“Gedo Street. We’re going to meet one of my friends to finalize matters with the Canlight United Chamber of Commerce.”
William grinned. Dealing with Jason would be much simpler; the Canlight United Chamber of Commerce was essentially under the control of the Harold family, so contacting him would suffice.
“William.”
Once seated in the carriage, Mora spoke up.
“Before coming here, Bernie talked to me, and I think he has a point.”
“Oh? What is it?”
“We don’t need to hold so much stock. Five percent is enough.”
Yes, according to the original plan, William would hold fifty percent of the shares, while Bernie and Mora would each hold fifteen percent. The rest would be divided between the Golden Vine Chamber of Commerce and the Canlight United Chamber of Commerce.
Originally, William even wanted to allocate some shares to Dahr, but the rune master declined.
In Dahr’s words, money was already just a number for him, and he chose not to participate, letting William and Bernie handle things.
Seeing William about to say something, Mora quickly waved his hand to stop him.
“Don’t worry, we’ve both thought it through seriously!”
“Originally, the ‘Self-Recharging’ rune was your invention, and the subsequent plans were all arranged by you. Neither Bernie nor I contributed much. Taking fifteen percent each doesn’t seem appropriate.”
“You can bring Bernie and me along and still have five percent of the shares. Bernie and I are both satisfied with that, and we won’t feel like we’re taking advantage of you too much.”
Looking at Mora’s sincere and resolute expression, William reluctantly shook his head and said, “Alright, if that’s what you both want.”
“Let’s work hard, and let your father see how capable you are. You’re no worse than your older brother.”
“Yeah!”
Mora nodded heavily, determined in his heart.
If I don’t seize such a good opportunity, I won’t touch women again in the future!
—
Carl Mansion, second floor.
Simon stood by the window, watching as William and Mora rode away in the carriage, his gaze filled with unknown thoughts.
“Father, why did you agree? This is a rare opportunity to establish a relationship with Master Dahr, and I think their product has great potential!” Mora’s elder brother, John, stood behind Simon, sounding somewhat discontented and complaining.
Simon didn’t turn around, still standing by the window, and said, “Why? Do you think you can handle it?”
John didn’t notice the change in his father’s tone and continued, “Of course, if you insist, I think that William would directly cooperate with the Chamber of Commerce.”
“Is that what you really think?”
Simon turned around, his face devoid of the earlier gentleness, appearing somewhat disappointed.
John also noticed his father’s serious expression and lowered his head, not daring to continue complaining.
“Your vision is still too narrow.”
“Earning money has never been the primary goal of the Chamber of Commerce. Do you understand?”
