Mia Kendall expected Eric Kendall to blow up at her right then and there. But unexpectedly, he just stared at her for two seconds before striding away.

Mia Kendall had heard everything Mr. Kendall said just now.

Even though she was usually sick and tired of Eric Kendall, her heart ached for him just then for some reason.

Mia Kendall took a deep breath and entered the living room.

Mia couldn’t believe her mother didn’t understand her at all. The truth was, she was already regretting her actions.

She stood up and said sullenly, "I’m going upstairs to rest. I’m tired."

The household staff were the type to treat people differently based on their status. Seeing that the heads of the house were out, they didn’t pay Mia any mind and had all gone home early to rest.

So, Mia went to the kitchen herself and grabbed a package of instant noodles.

Just then, she heard footsteps outside.

Mia quickly ran out to see who it was. It was Eric Kendall.

He was usually out carousing at this hour and rarely came home so early.

Thinking about what had happened earlier, Mia felt a pang of guilt and asked quietly, "Have you... eaten? I’m making some instant noodles. Do you want me to make a package for you, too?"

Eric Kendall’s dark gaze finally landed on her. His lips were pressed into a thin, hard line, a clear sign he was still suppressing his rage.

After a few seconds, his gloomy eyes swept over her before he strode toward the sofa on his long legs, carelessly tossing his jacket aside.

Mia was used to bickering and arguing with him.

She would rather he just fight with her.
