The doctor handed her the test results as he spoke.

The doctor’s arm was getting tired from holding out the report. He looked suspiciously at the dazed Holly Sinclair and prompted her again.

Her mind was in turmoil.

It was just a thin, weightless piece of paper, yet it felt as heavy as a mountain, threatening to crush her.

’I can’t keep it!’

She had once desperately wanted a baby with Tristan Sterling, but times had changed.

Back then, she had been deeply in love with him.

But now, she wanted nothing more to do with him for the rest of her life.

Holly Sinclair’s mind was buzzing, and she didn’t hear a single word of what the doctor said after that.

She walked out of the doctor’s office in a daze and sat on a bench in the hallway, rummaging frantically through her bag.

A gentle voice pulled Holly Sinclair from her chaotic thoughts back to reality.

She quickly stuffed the medicine box and test results back into her bag.

"Brandon."

She looked up at Brandon Sterling as he strode toward her, forcing a smile.

It looked worse than if she had been crying.

"What did the doctor say?" Brandon Sterling asked with concern, his expression calm as he glanced at her bag, which she hadn’t had time to close yet.

He had seen her frantic movements as she stuffed things inside.

"It’s nothing," Holly Sinclair just shook her head, not planning to say more.

"You still look pale. Why don’t you stay in the hospital for observation?" Brandon Sterling was very worried and started to call for a doctor.

She quickly grabbed his arm, insisting, "I’m really fine!"

"Alright." Seeing her insistence, he gave up, but still reminded her, "If you start feeling worse, you have to tell me immediately."

"Okay," Holly Sinclair nodded.

The two of them left the hospital.

Brandon Sterling drove Holly Sinclair home.

Partway there, Brandon Sterling spotted a shopping mall and pulled over.

"There’s a restaurant in there famous for its stomach-soothing congee. Let’s get something to eat," Brandon Sterling said.

It was already lunchtime.

Holly Sinclair instinctively refused, "I don’t have much of an appetite..."

"You have to eat even if you don’t have an appetite, or your stomach will feel worse." Brandon Sterling turned off the engine and got out of the car.

He walked around to her side and opened her door.

Holly Sinclair couldn’t refuse his kindness any longer.

Besides, she was a little hungry.

Her stomach was upset; some congee would probably help.

The two arrived at the restaurant and chose a table by the window.

Brandon Sterling first ordered a pot of the stomach-soothing congee, followed by a few other light dishes.

The congee arrived quickly. Brandon Sterling thoughtfully ladled a bowl for Holly Sinclair and handed it to her.

Holly Sinclair thanked him and began to eat, taking small sips.

The scene looked quite heartwarming.

Caleb Sutton suddenly swore, staring at a spot below them as if he’d seen a ghost. "Tristan, is your ex-wife getting it on with that cheap older brother of yours?!"

At that moment, Tristan Sterling, Caleb Sutton, and Nathan Fletcher were dining in a luxury restaurant on the third floor.

Holly Sinclair and Brandon Sterling were on the second floor.

So, from where Tristan and his friends were sitting, they had a perfect view of Holly and Brandon’s interaction.

Following Caleb Sutton’s gaze, Tristan Sterling saw Brandon Sterling attentively placing food into Holly Sinclair’s bowl.

Holly Sinclair smiled at Brandon Sterling.

A very sweet smile.

The temperature seemed to plummet.

Tristan Sterling stared coldly at the smile on Holly Sinclair’s face.

He found it incredibly jarring.

"Heh. One is shameless, the other is treacherous and cunning. They’re a perfect match," Caleb Sutton sneered, curling his lip in disdain.

As soon as he said it, the air grew even colder.

Nathan Fletcher, ever the sharp one, immediately sensed something was wrong and stomped hard on Caleb Sutton’s foot under the table.

"Ow," Caleb Sutton yelped in pain and snapped at Nathan Fletcher, "What the hell was that for!"

"Can’t all this food shut you up?"

Nathan Fletcher said coolly, shooting him a look.

Caleb Sutton turned to look.

Only then did he belatedly realize that Tristan Sterling’s expression was as dark as it could possibly get.

He was a bit stunned and muttered, "I wasn’t wrong, though..."

Caleb Sutton didn’t get it.

’Why is Tristan’s face so dark? Is he angry?’

’But what’s he got to be angry about?’

Nathan Fletcher spoke calmly, "Forget it, Tristan. There’s nothing to see. To you, she’s just an irrelevant ex-wife—"

"Not ex-wife," Tristan Sterling cut him off.

His voice was as cold as if it had been forged in ice.

Both Nathan Fletcher and Caleb Sutton were shocked.

"What do you mean?" Nathan Fletcher raised an eyebrow.

"Don’t tell me you two haven’t divorced yet?" Caleb Sutton cried out.

Tristan Sterling didn’t speak.

Seeing his tacit agreement, Caleb Sutton was even more bewildered. "That can’t be right. It’s been over a month since we celebrated for you. How could you two possibly not be divorced yet?"

Caleb Sutton and Nathan Fletcher exchanged a look of disbelief.

’Is it that social-climbing woman, Holly Sinclair, who’s refusing to let Tristan go?’

’But if that’s the case, how would she dare to be messing around with Brandon Sterling?’

’Tristan’s the one who doesn’t want the divorce?’

Caleb Sutton felt like his brain was about to short-circuit.
