"No—" the Elder managed before the Essence Refining Flame consumed his hand, his arm, his shoulder. He tried to sever his own limb to stop the spread, but the fire moved faster than thought. Within three seconds, his entire upper body was engulfed. Within five, his screams were cut off. Within seven, nothing remained but ashes that the white flame continued to refine until even those were gone.
