After finding a suitable candidate and replacing their Gift Cords, Min-ho returned to searching his System’s Shop menu.
He had taken a good chunk of time checking everything in the weapons section. From swords, to shields, spears, bows and everything in between. Yet he didn’t find anything that interested him much, as his main weapon of choice was a dagger.
It was the daggers that made him the most antsy as they were more and more powerful each time he checked a new one, but their price tags were equally as mighty.
Finally done with the weapons, Min-ho went back a menu and narrowed his eyes to the section titled ’Gear’.
[——Gear——]
[Armor, Clothing, Utility]
The first thing he wanted to check was armor.
[———Armor———]
[Commoner’s Armor, Valdorian Armor, Qorin Armor]
[[Commoner’s Armor]]
[Rank: E, Tier: 3]
[Durability: 300/300]
[Enchantments: None]
[Description: Simple armor used by commoners assigned last minute to battle. Will defend against opponents of equivalent rank and of higher ranks. Damage dealt by higher ranked attacks will multiply the cost on durability by the attacker’s rank]
[Price: 5,000 Coins]
[Purchase]
Upon seeing this armor, Min-ho’s eyes lit up, because he knew this was the best he would get for such a small price. So he kept it at the back of his mind as he continued reading.
[[Valdorian Armor]]
[Rank: E, Tier: 2]
[Durability: 600/600]
[Enchantments: Strong Soul]
[—Strong Soul: 5% chance of receiving invulnerability for 10 seconds each time an attack is received]
[Description: Holy armor worn by the knights of Valdoria. It is capable of withstanding heavy assault and will defend against opponents of equivalent and higher ranks. Damage dealt by higher ranked attacks will multiply the cost on durability by the attacker’s rank]
[Price: 20,000 Coins]
[Purchase]
He sighed. As expected, he saw a much better armor with a higher price tag. He ignored it and continued to read.
[[Qorin Armor]]
[Rank: E, Tier: 1]
[Durability: 1,000/1,000]
[Enchantments: Riposte, Brothers in Arms]
[—Riposte: Will deal twice the damage received to an opponent every time a total of 100 durability is lost]
[—Brothers in Arms: Will grant the bearer and three of their companions with invulnerability for 20 seconds each time an opponent is slain]
[Description: Armor worn by the elite warriors of the Kingdom of Qoria. Has high durability and is particularly strong against fire damage. Will defend against opponents of equivalent and higher rank. Damage dealt by higher ranked attacks will multiply the cost on durability by the attacker’s rank]
[Price: 150,000 Coins]
[Purchase]
After reading through the entire description of the last armor, all Min-ho could think about was its price tag.
Feeling disappointed, he went back a menu and decided not to dwell on it too much.
He then turned his attention to Utility while dismissing clothing as he already knew what it held.
Armor once worn would be invisible to the naked eye, so the Z-Tower offered its Z-Streamers an array of clothing from all the eras of human history at random.
Luckily for them, the clothing tended to be cheap.
With a huff, he focused on the Utility menu.
[———Utility———]
[Sleeping bag, Stove, Pot, Plates and Spoons, Canteen, Saddle, Ropes, Spark Rocks, Soap, Pouch]
Looking at the items listed out in the Utility menu, he couldn’t help but find it ironic that a place so barbaric as this could offer such thoughtful necessities, it was almost like a joke.
Not thinking too deeply into it, he began to read each of their descriptions individually, grimacing at the absurdity of it all.
[—Sleeping bag: Rolled up bag used by travelers of the Meridian Kingdom. It provides convenient sleeping comfort while traveling long distances]
[Price: 500 Coins] [Purchase]
[—Stove: A portable magical stove once owned by the legendary Alchemist Jelonara for the brewing of his potions. Though the stove has lost most of its special abilities over the years, it will still function as a basic stove for cooking]
[Price: 500 Coins] [Purchase]
[—Pot: A wide pot once used as the cauldron of the witch Ketalesis. Legend says she used this very pot to boil foolish children who once wandered into her forest. The pot is capable of holding enough food for a group]
[Price: 500 Coins] [Purchase]
The descriptions of the other items went on this way, plates that were used to eat noblemen, soap used to wash pus away from corpses.
’Is this some kind of joke?’ he thought, feeling angered by this world.
Ignoring it all, Min-ho narrowed his gaze to the pouch, the only item he would be needing as of now.
[—Pouch: +5 extra space to Inventory]
[Price: 500 Coins] [Purchase]
Space was a very important requirement in the Z-Tower, and any chance one had to acquire more needed to be taken.
Without much hesitation, he decided to purchase the pouch.
[Utility Purchased]
[500 Coins Deducted]
[Utility ’Pouch’ Acquired]
[Pouch Has Increased space of Inventory by 5 Increments]
Now feeling satisfied, he went back a menu, then fixated his gaze on the option titled ’Relics’.
Looking at the option made his heart thud and his fingers twitch. A frenzied sensation washed over him when he thought about what abilities the Relics would give him and how it would pain him to be unable to buy any.
Yet his curiosity would not let him be, so he opened the menu.
