Heroines, something wrong with them?

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!’’ Lucas screamed; his body started changing just after he took the pill. He came to his knees, in agony; his screams echoed widely, attracting all the zombies around, with more than two hundred.

The Demon laughed; nothing was more entertaining than seeing others in pain, especially fools like this.

When the zombies came closer, he just waved his hand; the zombies shattered into small pieces, into a bloody mass. Their organs hit everywhere: on the walls of the buildings, on the glass of the shops, on the trees.

Those dead things were boring to him, not even worth of his glance.

’’It would be fun to turn human as a weapon against humankind, hahaha. I want to see the face of those guardians, the regret they didn’t find you earlier and let you be taken by a demon, hahaha..’’

"Well, go become strong right now; you were useless!"

Lucas didn’t hear a single word of the demon; he was in extreme agony, nothing making sense to him. What was happening to his body? He felt it expanding; everything was ripping apart.

The demon snapped his fingers, and Lucas disappeared from his place.

Then the demon looked toward the south.

"Let’s see what this side of the border was connected with.

Meanwhile, inside the apartment.

"She agreed to come with us’’ Lalica told Loid and the twins.

Loid looked at the lady whose eyes were red. She took her kids in her arms, took them to the room, to dress them in warmer clothes, since there was no heater outside.

The blond-haired young woman followed her.

No one asked Lalica any details about how she explained or convinced her to come with them; it was unnecessary to ask.

After some minutes, they came out of the room in thicker clothes. A blonde-haired young woman was carrying the little girl in her arms, while the boy was carried by his mother and the boy was holding a red box.

"We’re ready", Barbara said and approached Lalica.

"This box my husband brought; I don’t know from where", Barbara said. She decided to give it to them; she didn’t want them to think they were a burden.

She knew what this box could do; her husband told her last night.

She explained to Lalica. She didn’t know if they would believe her, but it didn’t matter; they would when they saw it with their own eyes.

"Mikey, give it to big sister," Barbara said to her son.

"Noo! It’s mine"

"Mike..."

"No, it’s fine," Lalica said. " We don’t need it; we had a lot of food, and you don’t have to worry about it either."

"You can have your box, little guy", Lalica smiled at the boy.

"Thank you, " Barbara said.

Lalica nodded and walked to Loid

"Do you know where her husband got this magical box ?" Lalica asked.

Loid shrugged.

"Probably there were more people in this world with a system one of them gave to her husband, probably.’’

Lalica rolled her eyes. Seriously, it’s like until she pointed it out herself, he was never gonna tell her the truth, but this time she didn’t point it out, just agreed with his explanation.

Soon everyone walked out of the apartment.

Barbara didn’t lock the door; the girl already told her they were not coming back. News of her husband’s death was shocking, heartbreaking; she was already having those types of thoughts when he didn’t come back after so long. But she kept pushing those thoughts away, but they kept coming back, and in the end she received news of his death.

She wasn’t even able to see his body one last time, nor did she demand it, since the girl already told her it was in a bed state, so they didn’t bring it with them. Maybe she wasn’t a good wife; she was overwhelmed after hearing her husband was dead, but more than that, she felt anxiety and fear about their own survival, for the survival of her kids.

So when Lailica offered that they could come with them if they wanted, she agreed immediately.

She was really grateful, especially to Emma and Emmy, since they recognized her husband and chose to tell their friends. If they had just ignored them, she didn’t know how she would have fed her kids and kept them safe in this chaos.

She didn’t know why things turned out like this.

Getting back on the trains other were waiting for them.

Lalica introduced Barbara and Gwen to everyone, expect Alice father; he was resting in his room.

"You guys go rest for now," Elizabeth said to Barbara. She could tell Barbara was feeling uncomfortable. So she decided to give them personal space; they were staying in the room which Mira decided to take earlier. Now Mira decided to share the room with Veronica and others.

"Alice dear, go show them their room"

"Okay", Alice stood up from her seat, leading them.

"Thank you" Before following Alice, Barbara thanked Amilia and Elizabeth again. Seeing a muture womens were the leaders and they were also mothers, she felt more at ease; she was sure they could understand her worries about the safety of her kids. Like her, they would also be worried about the safety of their daughters.

But compared to them, she felt a little ashamed of herself; she wasn’t a strong mother like them. She wasn’t even sure if they were not there for them, would she have ever left their apartment to go out and look for help or food; she was sure she would never until it was the last option or maybe she would have chosen an easy way out; she was always like that, a coward, pathetic.

They walked to another carriage.

Veronica whispered something into Emma and Emmy’s ears before the three girls stood.

"Mum, we are going to rest, and I want a hot chocolate," Veronica said.

"Sure, sweetheart, I will make it for everyone."

"I will help", Mira said.

Loid and Lailca sat in their seat after removing some clothes; the train was warm because of the heaters.

"Well, then let’s continue our journey", Amilia started the train moving toward the south with no fixed destination; only the future would tell where this journey was going to take them ...
