Heroines, something wrong with them?

Chapter 32: Yesterday, Jack

Yesterday,

Jack went home after encountering that weird boy who gave him this bag after taking his baseball bats out, saying it would help him in the Apocalypse.

He had clearly seen that the bag was empty. And yet from the weight, he knew there was something inside the bag.

He was curious about what was inside, so the first thing he did after coming home was to check the bag.

He placed the bag on the table in the living room.

"What was it, honey? And why weather turn like this?"

His wife asked, coming closer and standing next to him, carrying their daughter in her arms, who was hugging her like a koala.

She was just an uneducated housewife who didn’t even know how to use a cell phone, just good at handling kids and cooking. She was pretty, so he married her.

One thing was good about her: like other women, she didn’t demand anything- no luxury, dresses, bags, jewelry, etc. And never say him no on bed.

She was over all stupid woman and a good wife.

He ignored her questions and opened the bag, taking a look; there was really a sword and a red box inside.

"How?" Juck muttered. He didn’t know that boy did this. Was it really magic? He started checking the bag, trying to find what kind of trick that boy used.

"Honey, where did you get this, and you didn’t tell me why It’s suddenly snowing outside?’’ his wife asked.

"Ah...

"Ring! Ring! Ring! Ring!..."

He was about to answer her when someone rang their doorbell nonstop.

"I’ll open it", His wife said, turning toward the door.

"No, I will take a look", He said, stopping her.

"O-okay."

He frowned as he walked toward the door.

The bell kept ringing. Something didn’t feel right; He looked outside through the peephole.

And saw a beautiful girl with blonde hair, around age 20; he knew her; she lived in the next apartment.

he immedently opened the door for her.

"Uncle! There were... those things’’ The girl entered the house, ran past him, scared, pointing her trembling finger outside.

Jack looked at her, then stepped outside. Left in the corridor, there were two people... he immediately stepped back into the house and locked the door.

The image struck in his mind; they were not people; their skin was a grayish-blue, blood dripping from their mouths. Hands were raised as they were running toward them.

Soon, he heard the sound of stretching against his door and growling!.

"What’re those people?!" He asked the girl who stood behind his wife; his wife looked confused and panicked, seeing the condition of the girl.

"I was waitin... they ate the person next to the stairs", the girl told him, scared, trembling all over.

His wife tried to calm her down, but her face became worse with her words. The growling and scratching sound was scaring her and the kids— His daughter and son started crying, seeing that girl crying. But he didn’t pay attention to them.

His gaze moved to the sword and the box, remembering what the boy told him.

Apocalypse!.

That boy was telling the truth, but how did he know?! Jack questioned in his mind as he walked to the table and picked up the bag.

"Husband... what.."

"Take care of the kids and don’t open the door no matter what." He said to his wife, cutting off all her questions.

His wife nodded.

He moved into his room, placed a sword on the bed in front of him, and took a razor blade from the drawer and made a small cut on his thumb, dropping the blood on the sword as that boy told him.

He looked at the sword in disbelief as it glowed golden, and then the glow disappeared.

He could feel a connection with this sword as it was missing a part of his body; he picked it up.

He felt young and strong, stronger than he ever felt. Holding the sword in front of him, he swung in empty air, creating a "whoosh!" sound.

Not only that, but he also knew how to use it; the sword started turning yellow, with some sparks. But he stopped because it was not safe to use it inside his bedroom.

Then his gaze moved to the red box.

When he walked out of the room. That beautiful girl and his wife were sitting on the couch; the girl was sipping water slowly, his wife helping her to drink.

The girl’s condition hadn’t improved at all; all she was still tumbling.

His wife looked at him and asked if she could stay here today; he agreed immediately.

Next morning.

Jack asked his wife how much food they had.

She told him. It was not much; they would run out of food within a week.

Jack thought the food just provided by Red Box wouldn’t be enough for them all.

And the weather became worse than yesterday. What if it became even worse, making him unable to go out and he ran out of food? No, he can’t let it happen.

From his bedroom, he picked up the sword; just holding it, he always feels new found confiendent energy he never felt before, not even in his young days. He felt going out to bring food wouldn’t be a problem for him.

He decided to go out to the market and bring some food. It was good to go early since the weather was getting colder. He should have gone yesterday.

His wife tried to stop him, but what this dumb women understand she was just a emotional weak heart fool with no critical thinking.

Like always, he didn’t listen to her.

He sent her out of the bedroom, telling her to bring him a bag to carry food; she had to listen to him like she always did. She moved to find something suitable.

Jack also got out of the bedroom

He looked at the beautiful blond-haired girl sitting on the couch with his kids.

Looking at her, her face, her fair neck, small red lips. Wrong thoughts started taking root in his mind.
