The day was extremely hectic, more hectic than she had expected. Amelia had begun to slowly understand why Damien looked the way he did when she had met him the previous day. Due to the incoming fashion weeks, she and Damien had been going around from one team of designers to another, ensuring that the pieces created aligned with the collection theme, The Season of the Sun. Maybe it would have been much easier if not for the fact that for every team they went to, Damien had some sort of criticism or another.
"It’s The Season of the Sun, not The Season of Shit."
"Come on, we are preparing for a fashion week, not some kids’ show."
"Was this part of the drafts sent to me? Because I am pretty sure I never approved that."
"I know anything can be art, but I’m sorry, this is just trash."
Amelia had begun to feel bad for some of the designers. While some of the criticisms were fairly needed, she felt that others were unnecessary. However, she kept quiet, besides, he was the boss.
Finally, after a long time, they went back to Damien’s office. Damien slumped into his chair with a quiet sigh and ordered,
"Go get me milk tea downstairs."
Amelia nodded and left the office.
Damien rubbed his temples as he watched her go.
He had confronted his mother, asking her why she had made Amelia his assistant. She had told him that Amelia had exceptional talent and she wanted him to tutor her before bringing her to her side.
But she was the one who had less things to do. He already had a lot on his plate being a creative director and a designer, now he had to tutor someone else. on top of all that.
Well, his mother was right. She did have some talent, though it was unrefined. He had noticed it when he spoke with the designers, vthe way her eyes would trace the designs and embellishments of some of the clothes, falling into deep thought. There were times that he intentionally became overly harsh over some minor details just to gauge her reaction, and he could see that, despite keeping a calm face, she wasn’t so comfortable with it.
But those minor details mattered. Every detail mattered.
The door creaked open, and Amelia came in with two milk teas in her hands. She placed one on Damien’s table.
"Here you go, sir," she said before going to her own desk with her milk tea.
Since she didn’t have an office yet, they had quickly created a makeshift workspace with just a table and a chair beside his.
Damien pushed the straw of the milk tea past its plastic covering and brought it to his mouth. As he sipped, he watched carefully as Amelia slowly slurped her milk tea while intently sketching on a piece of paper.
At first, her expression was calm as it always was, then it scrunched into a small frown, and she crumpled the paper, throwing it into the small dustbin beside her. She pulled out a fresh sheet and began again.
This was the routine for over twenty minutes, and Damien couldn’t help but become curious.
He quietly walked toward her and looked down.
On the sheet of paper was an image of a dress with an asymmetrical silhouette. The top had an off-shoulder neckline, gracefully draping across the torso.
The skirt was asymmetrical, with one side flowing down in a diagonal cut while the other was sheer and fitted, revealing the leg underneath. Delicate strands with small embellishments dangled from the hemline and along the sheer fabric.
"This is quite nice, but rather than having the embellishments dangling from the hem of the skirt, they should be placed on the hem. However, you can place little pearls to dangle from the waistline," Damien chimed in thoughtfully.
Amelia flinched, surprised that Damien had appeared behind her.
Damien, seeing that he had scared her, said apologetically, "I’m sorry. I was just curious about what you were doing."
Amelia slightly nodded and said, "Your suggestion, I don’t accept it."
Damien blinked, quite surprised. "Why?"
"Because it is my design, not yours," she said flatly.
Damien: "..."

Caleb was hospitalized with a broken hand, and although it had now healed, with such an injury, he still had to stay in the hospital even after having a cast put on. For a long time, his hand would be unusable.
The Blackbourne family, upon hearing that their son’s hand had been broken and he had been hospitalized, rushed to the hospital, furious.
Most children who were frivolous behaved that way because they had parents who enabled their behavior, and Caleb’s parents were no different. After trying for a son following five daughters and finally succeeding, Caleb had become extremely spoiled, especially by his mother. No matter what he did, he was never scolded.
Caleb’s mother, Jade, was extremely doting on her son and was now looking at Caleb on the bed with a distressed expression on her face.
She said angrily to her husband, who was beside her, "The Blackwoods are really amazing, letting their useless son beat my son like this!"
Caleb, lying on the bed, his face a little pale, howled, "Mom, I feel uncomfortable..."
"It’s okay, it’s okay, Mom will give you justice!" Jade hurriedly went forward and gently coaxed her son. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Oliver Blackbourne frowned, his expression grim. Seeing his son in that state made him even more distressed.
"I am going to speak to Dan. He will bring his son to kneel before you in apology."
Jade nodded her head vigorously.
"Yes, that useless son must kneel three times before our son."
"Mother, I’m in pain," Caleb cried. "You must get justice for me. I must break his arms too, and his legs in addition!"
Jade patted her son softly. "Yes, son, we are going to get justice for you. We won’t let that ruffian go scot-free for hurting you."
