The path wasn’t steep, but for a city kid like Zizi who had never experienced anything like it, the walk was a little exciting.

This was the second time since they arrived that Zizi’s mother had seen a change in Zizi’s perception of the outside world.

The sides of the path were lined with trees, some of which bore fruit. The fruits were small, and if you looked closely, their skins were a little red. Zizi’s mother picked one, wiped it, and popped it in her mouth. It was sweet and sour, so she picked a few for Zizi.

But she instinctively hugged her daughter tight and tried to run in the opposite direction!

In the midst of the struggle, Zizi’s mother stumbled while holding Zizi, and they both fell onto the path.

But Zizi’s mother still held her daughter tightly, cradling her in her arms.

Only then did she get a good look at the man who had suddenly appeared. He was around five-foot-nine, a bit overweight, with a vicious look on his face that was instantly terrifying.

"If you don’t want to die, stop running, understand?" The man’s smile was like that of a Demon.

’Ugly and disgusting!’

"What do you want!" No matter how scared she was, Zizi’s mother had to protect her daughter.

"Hand over your daughter. You come with me, or I’ll kill you both!"

The man crouched down and reached for Zizi, as if to lift her up.

Just then, the man’s long-honed counter-surveillance instincts made his expression change in an instant. He lunged forward and grabbed both Zizi’s mother and Zizi.

He lifted them up as if they were little chicks.

Then he dragged them toward a cliff face at the side of the path.

"Don’t move! Come any closer and I’ll kill them!" the man shouted viciously toward an empty spot.

Zizi’s mother had no idea what was happening, but after the man shouted, people did indeed appear where there had been no one before. She didn’t know who they were, but they seemed different from ordinary people.

And the man wrapped his arm directly around her neck.

"You’re surrounded! Harming innocent people will only add to your crimes!"

"Hahaha! You think I’m afraid of you?!"

As he spoke, the man dragged Zizi’s mother and Zizi toward the edge of the path.

At the edge was a sheer cliff. A fall from there wouldn’t necessarily kill you, but you’d be half-dead. Most likely, there’d be no rescue, unless you were incredibly lucky.

"Take me instead! Let my child go!" Zizi’s mother couldn’t help but cry.

’It’s my fault Zizi is in danger. If I hadn’t brought my daughter here, how could something like this have happened?’

’I just want my daughter to live!’

But how could the man care whether they were adults or children? The police wanted to catch him? Fine, he didn’t mind letting them face a public backlash!

Let them choose: his life, or the lives of this mother and daughter!

"Get out of here, now! I’m going to count to ten. If you’re still here after ten, I’ll throw this little girl straight down!"

Zizi’s mother immediately struggled to hold her daughter tighter. "If you’re going to throw someone, throw me! Don’t touch my daughter! Over my dead body!"

As the two sides were in a standoff, the man felt a gust of wind from behind. He grabbed the woman and flung her behind him.

"Stop! You bastard!" As the shout rang out, the scene was of Zizi’s mother, holding Zizi, being thrown by the force over the edge of the cliff!

Meanwhile, the man, due to the force from behind and a kick from Zizi’s mother as she was thrown, fell to the ground and started rolling.

He rolled right in the direction of the plainclothes police officers.

Someone rushed forward to restrain him, but the man pulled a dagger from his waistband and stabbed the person grabbing him right in the kidney!

"Brother Zhang!" a heart-wrenching cry.

The man was subdued, pinned to the ground by the feet of three people, and his arms were tied.

In her despair, Zizi’s mother held her daughter tight. As they fell, her only thought was to act as a human shield so her daughter might survive.

But...

A burst of golden light!

It seemed to shoot out from her daughter’s chest, as brilliant as the sun and impossible to block.

In that radiance, Zizi’s mother felt a powerful force catch her body and lift her back up.

Zizi’s mother sat on the ground, gasping for breath. Zizi looked curiously over the edge of the cliff, but held in her mother’s arms, she didn’t struggle.

The man was taken away, and a police officer came over to explain what had happened to Zizi’s mother and to comfort them.

Upon learning they weren’t locals, the police were a bit curious. Almost no one came here for tourism; why did something happen the one time someone did?

Besides, everyone had clearly seen that last scene: the two of them had been thrown off.

They loved a miracle and were very Satisfied with the outcome, but they were truly curious how the two had gotten back up.

Under those circumstances, it should have been impossible to get back up unharmed, right?
