Gwen had been very skeptical about the instance happening with Linda lately. The woman who had tried to look down on her was acting friendly with her, it was quite suspicious.

But then, she noticed that Linda had been maintaining a professional relationship with them. Never once she tried to grab Karl’s attention which was also very strange.

She remembered Tristan telling her that Linda had a liking towards Karl but was always ignored. ’Was she trying another way of impressing Karl’ she thought as she gripped her arms around Karl’s torso tied.

"Ouch, Gwen you are holding me too tight" Karl complained and she immediately loosen her hold around him and pulled herself out from his embrace.

Karl watched Gwen make an innocent face as she watched him rub the side of his waist. He could tell she was still busy thinking about Linda and her motives but it wasn’t the time for them to waste on thinking about others.

After spending some time with Ryan, Linda reached home. But the moment she stepped inside the house she was stopped by her grandfather Mr. Acme.

"Where have you been Linda?" his stern voice halt her steps and she tightened her hold on her purse.

Mr. Acme had been waiting for Linda since the evening, but when she didn’t arrive home on time, he started to get worried for her. He knew Linda wasn’t someone he could tame, but for her bright future, he had to control her life.

Turning around, Linda watched Mr. Acme stare at her with his piercing gaze. Watching him look at her intently, Linda panicked. She knew her grandfather had his men following her so she didn’t meet Ryan and she doubt whether they had caught her red-handed.

"Grandpa... didn’t you ask me to visit Skylar Corps as you wanted the project to begin as soon as possible" Linda maintained her composure though she was crying inside.

She just didn’t want him to learn about the scheme she is planning behind his back or else she will end up losing everything.

"But didn’t the meeting end in the afternoon itself, then how come you didn’t return home" Mr. Acme was aware of her schedules for the entire day, and since it was the weekend he knew she had no meetings after that.

"Yes, it did end in the afternoon but then I decided to visit the construction site of our ongoing projects. I must say, the people have been doing their jobs very well" Linda said confidently as she saw her grandfather’s face change from suspicious to amusement.

"Is that so?" he asked, surprised by her statement.

"Yes"

Linda was secretly observing the old man and it seems like he was believing her words. A vicious gleam flashed through her eyes and she watched Mr. Acme wave his hand. "You must be tired, you should go and freshen up before you join me for the dinner"

Giving him a nod, Linda walked away from the living room and headed to her bedroom.

The moment Linda was out of his sight, Mr. Acme pulled out his cell phone and called Ken the manager who was in control of the construction site. "It’s me," the old man said and started interrogating his employee about Linda’s presence at the construction site.

Mr. Acme wanted to confirm whether Linda was telling him the truth or if it was a lie she used just to escape his doubts. But after having a conversation with Ken, Mr. Acme indeed affirmed that Linda was at the construction site the entire time before she returned home.

"Okay" saying he ended the call.

"Thank god..."Linda heaved out a sigh before she straightened up and slowly closed the door.

She stood there hiding behind her room’s door just to listen to her grandfather’s conversation with Manager Ken.

After meeting Ryan, Linda decided to visit the site just so her grandfather doesn’t get suspicious about her whereabouts. She just wanted to be cautious about her every step knowing how close she was monitored.

Turning, around she walked toward her bed and lay down with her eyes facing the ceiling above. The more she looked ahead, the more her eyes turned blank completely hiding her emotions.

Linda had a lot of things on her mind and she only had to play safe until she reaches her goal. With a determined look, she pulled herself up and walked inside the bathroom to get changed, just so she could join her grandfather for the dinner.

Alice had worked overtime since she had a lot of pending work to finish. Once she was done, she stepped out of the cabin and walked toward the elevator.

Ding!.. the door slid open and Alice stepped inside before pressing the ground floor button. She was the only one who was working whereas everyone else had left at their regular time.

Soon Alice reached the lobby and walked out of the studio, heading to the parking area. She was just a few steps away from her car when suddenly someone blocked her way taking her in shock.

"Careful" Alice was yet to compose herself but the voice she heard made her blood run dry.

Her eyes looked ahead and the face she saw froze her on the ground. "Brooke" she whispered staring at the man whom she never wanted to meet again in her entire life.

"Did you miss me Alice" she heard him say with a sinister smile stretching over his lips.
